I haven't actually had that issue yet. But if I run into it, I definitely will. However, to be honest, there's probably much better qualified UA-camrs for this. I highly recommend Kevin from Junkyard Digs and Junkyard Mook for this. He has a degree in engineering and has a great way of breaking down complex issues into layman's terms. His friend Luke from Thunderhead289 is great at these tasks as well. If I had to give any advice, I would just say to grab a pinout online, test it for a power issues. Also, some penetrant oil may help. I just wouldn't advise trying to work the needles back in forth as I am afraid my advice may cause you to possibly strip the teeth on the gear(s)
Unless you can find someone hoarding some NOS, they're unobtaininium new. Of coarse there are a lot of aftermarket options including Dakota Digital, Holley Terminator X displays (with S10 specific housings), standard aftermarket gauges, tablets, and all kinds of other options.

YepYes, this is a fairly common and perfectly acceptable option. This style looks very clean when done properly.

Hey the 4 clips on the back how did you remove those?
If you are talking about the ones that hold the face to the ribbon connectors, they're pressure fit. So a little pressure and a lot of patience.
