it's not irritating.. it means your hair is healthy sis. Embrace that shrinkage!! I don't like to use a lot of heat like this on my strands either so you aren't alone. lol I have very fine strands.

Demari Nikole you can blow dry on low heat with heat protectant or you can do chunky braids to stretch the hair and then gently brush them out for a blow out ( but that takes more time). Also make sure your wearing sun protectant if you are out in hot sun because the sun can cause heat damage too ! :)
My edges are really long as well but when I was suffering with anemia, it started to break off as well as my texture changed drastically. I really loved this video
