This is the video I didn't know I needed. I am definitely a noob web designer but before and above that, I have always been an artist and it is so painful and boring to see all those websites I call "finance websites", lacking originality and emotion. I was scared of entering a world where I had to adapt to finance websites but I have decided to do things my way and make an artistic portfolio. I completed the design but have to build the live website and I keep doubting myself and whether this portfolio will actually make it into the world. Then I found this video and I feel more confident and I do feel I want to break the norm and make a difference. All this to say thank you! If anyone is interested in giving me feedback on my portfolio design I would be extremely happy to send it to you!
I enjoyed this video. I like the handwritten, self-produced photos, DIYed - very personalized ideas - and I find it very encouraging! The samples at the end are a way to end it with a bang! Very inspiring! 💡⚡Thank you :)
Yea but as soon as a web designer gets “creative” someone will come along and say yea but it’s not accessible for all users with visual or motor impairments so then our website becomes demonised for not thinking of the end user, so where should we draw the line with making our websites creative and accessible for all to use at the same time?
Great ideas for the hand-crafted elements because it's so easy to just go for stock instead of really thinking about and putting your own input
Absolutely
