- Im starting a "Tech Tips" Playlist of various things I have made and use while building and working on cars.
This is a homemade bead breaker that I copied off of a unit that my grandfather built years ago. It works like a charm and I have changed countless tires this way.

I’ve done this more then a guy should have to. My dad started his career as at a body shop changing tires this way and in his late 60’s still makes it look easy.
you sure made hard work of that!
as long as you don't mind mauling the rims with the levers... or possibly damaging the tire with the sharp edges of the breaker.
You made that look hard
Three good spoon bars will make life so much better for you. Just my thoughts.
Love the bead breaker idea though.
Keep up the great work.

You’re definitely not wrong. I usually use better bars but they’ve gone missing since the move.
My buddy keeps telling how much he NEEDS a tire machine. I'm gonna show him this video & tell him he really dosen't!
That's cool
I'd say the tire won that fight
I don't want to scratch my wheels on the asphalt and then proceeds to use standard prybars with sharp corners 🤣
Haha it’s what I had 😂
@@StraightCutGears I hear ya. Just thought the irony was funny
Get it wet (that's the trick)
Jeeeeez you won't be changing any of my tyres. The bead wasn't broke before you started taking the tyre off. Make sure to check the damage on the rim.
Been doing it this way for years and never had a problem
