Glad I found this. I got one from an elderly neighbor and had no idea how to use the controls. I have the same model but mine does not shut off with the button you used so I have to unplug the cord to stop it (???). I do like it & even found replacement bags near me. These old things are workhorses!

The best vacuum made! My dad bought our original Epic 6500SR back in 1994-1995, and sadly today (3/8/2021), I had to say goodbye to it, these machines are amazing and it shows after over 20 years of ownership, just picked up a new Lux Legacy today and look forward to another 10-20 years with it. 👍🏼

I think the dial on the top has something to do with the bag full shut off system. I have one of these and I usually set it to the middle.

just put a new $65 motor in mine and seems great . these cordless r nice but dont match up to these heavyweights !
