I got his first cassette when it came out. I used to listen in the 45 minute drive to work at this mill I had almost died in a year before and was off a year and went back right after Christmas. It helped a shit load to get me there because I was fucking scared shitless and I would blast it and get my energy a little more smoothed out. I owed him a lot for that.
Jeff had so much Hendrix in him, always able to play new and interesting things and that is very rare as most players, no matter how great, more or less always play the same way and the same licks. Not JH and JH.
I'd just like to see some of them play a guitar like Jeff Healey played ! With it in his lap and how he corded that guitar just blew me away ! One of my guitar friends introduced me to Jeff Healey back in the late 80s and I was hooked from there on ! What an amazing talent and an amazing man .
What about Lenny Kravitz? Not only is he one of the greatest rock stars and guitarists of all time. He's also one of my favorite performers of all time. I have all of his albums. He's awesome.
