I just don’t get why she takes her OCPD diagnosis so seriously yet is magically cured of her BED because she thinks/declared herself not a binge eater. It just seems like she chooses which diagnosis is worth her time/convenient for her and it’s frustrating

What we're not hearing from Amber is that she's going to eat well, drink more water, take her medication and vitamins, exercise, and go to therapy until (and after) she is approved for WLS.

THIS!!! I don't get how this one year pause was such a huge setback for her. This gives her more time to prepare for the surgery... Like once it's done, it's done, babe. You HAVE to stick to the diets after that (or you could seriously die). Why not take the opportunity to practice being consistent and healthy for a year, so that once you get it, you know that you can stick to what is required of you. Even after all this she still doesn't realize what is required for WLS.
Not to mention the after care of surgery…. There are more surgeries if she does by chance lose some weight or busts her stitches or whatever. She is insufferable.

ERP saved my life.
She talks about ALL her illnesses like that. She's said she "literally can't control" certain symptoms, and that BED (when she said she had it) was an incurable thing she'd be dealing with for the rest of her life. She gets the diagnosis and that's it for her.
If she gets a date she'll only use it as an excuse. "Eh, it's like a whole year until WLS."..."I've still got 9 months, it's fine."... "It's 6 months til WLS, I can always lose the weight before then."
It's a HORRIBLE idea to give her a date.

Booking surgeries for patients that have not followed all the specific criteria and not having room for the patients who have done the work. I doesn’t work that way. Once I really started to hear how externalized Amber's entire sense of reality is, it became impossible to ignore. Her state of being is *always* contingent on someone/something else. Everything from advice from her own doctor, to random commenters, to whether or not she has a specific date to fixate on, dictates her whole life. Gorl seems to have nothing within her to the point that I'm pretty sure that if I poked her with a pin, you'd hear the squeal of escaping air, and she'd fully deflate.

I get the impression that ALR believes that, if only she could talk to the surgeon one-on-one, she'd be able to convince them that she should actually be fast tracked for surgery. This is why interdisciplinary consults exist for high risk interventions, bb girl: not only does it give us a more holistic assessment of patient readiness, but it inoculates against any one healthcare clinician falling prey to manipulation of their judgement.

After being told constantly about professionals giving her diagnoses that she wants, and her doctor shopping, it’s refreshing to see a whole team of professionals stand up to her and say it how it is.
Well the entire point of having this surgery is to have it quickly in a way, she doesnt have years anymore. Of course maybe now it is too late for her, but hopefully not and she gets it.

Okay I have a bone to pick this time. I also have OCD. I get that needing a date to feel satisfied can be symptomatic of OCD; I had a similar thing with 'needing' to replace a bookshelf when I moved. The most common and affective treatment for OCD is exposure therapy of many different kinds. With my bookshelf, I challenged myself and sat in that uncomfortable feeling for over 6 months before I let myself change it. This is EXACTLY what Amber needs to do. She literally cannot stand being even a little uncomfortable and if she just gives in to every compulsion she has she will never get any better. Mental health 'diagnoses' are not just excuses for your problems girl. Literally, just like everything else in your life, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Yes, she could afford ERP therapy no problem if she really wanted to. Meanwhile, I have OCD(not the "just right" kind, I'm not bothered by things being off or unorganized, i have many other themes) and can't afford it wishing I desperately could after my whole life of struggling. I try and use tips from OCD pages and ERP therapist accounts online. But she clearly doesn't want to help herself when she can use it as an excuse

I think it's interesting that she wants to be able to meet with the weight loss surgeon to plead her case so she does not have to wait12 months like everybody else. The thing is, just like lawyers strongly recommend certain clients not take the stand and speak on their own behalf, I think her therapist should advise Amber Lynn against speaking to the surgeon herself. I think this "in demand" weight loss surgeon would know within five minutes of chatting with her that she doesn't want to change her habits, but to have surgery so she doesn't have to put in any more effort.
All the Dr has to see some of her vids and realize she's far from ready
The fact she states that she can't stick to anything for more than 2 weeks, then states food has been 'taken' from her shows she will fail if she gets wls. After surgery those issues won't just disappear because her stomach is smaller, it's a mental game. The more she talks about it the more apparent it becomes that she thinks wls is a quick fix that doesn't require a lifetime of work to maintain.

Amber, if you pop in here, let me share a little nugget of fact with you. You said you seek instant gratification. You recognize that. Well, that's exactly what being a "spoiled brat" is all about. Also, ask your surgical team about the duodenal switch procedure. It has a better long term success rate than gastric sleeve.
Not many doctors do the duodenal switch anymore. I asked for it and they flat out said no lol she would def benefit more from the bypass then the sleeve though.

I really don’t believe she’s even seen a real psychiatrist or psychologist. Coming from someone who’s been actively going to therapy for a year now, you do not get diagnosed with something after one visit. You need repeated appointments with THE SAME provider for them to come to that diagnosis. Especially since so many of the mental health conditions can be mistaken for something else entirely with how similar symptoms can be.
She needs to find a real mental health care team and stick with them.
I was diagnosed with OCD in an hour and a half appt, but I sought the discussion. I was doing research and the DSM-V fit me too closely. So little different. However, I don’t think she should have been diagnosed with bipolar and OCPD in that appt. I think those needed more attention. But then, we know that psychiatrist is a hack. Look what they did to Becky…

The surgeon is the last step, after you have lost the required weight, after you get medical clearance from your primary care doctor, medical tests, specialty tests (heart, endoscopy, etc), therapist, Psychiatrist, Dietician and when all the clearances are done, you meet with the surgeon, they are the ones who make the decision regarding surgery! The people on 600 lb Life are required to meet a weight loss goal! Weight loss surgery is hard, your eating disorder does not go away!

(I have ocd,ptsd, anxiety, depression and bpd so I’m not downplaying struggles at all). But there’s a HUGE difference between doing what you can to help yourself and then there’s what ALR does, which is becoming her diagnosis to have an excuse to get what she wants. She will never realize it takes time and hard work to get what you want (like when ozempic didn’t cure her within 6 days so she said it didn’t work). It’s so frustrating 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
As someone diagnosed with Bordeline Personality Disorder and with strong OCD tendencies and bad anxiety, she talks about Personality disorders as if they can't be fixed. Girl this is not the 70s where borderlines were considered unfixable, go to damn therapy 🤣

She’s so damn delusional. She said she wouldn’t be upset if the dr took it slow and here she is mad af because they won’t do her surgery now. The dr probably took one peek at her videos and said she wasn’t ready for the surgery. She should be thankful the dr is making her wait because one binge after surgery and it’s a huge possibility she could die from it.
So, the surgeon is not going to schedule a surgery a year out. Too many risk factors, too much time for her to fail, and too far out to know their schedule. I had to loose weight for a breast reduction surgery, and I didn’t get a surgery date till after the weight was lost, same applies to her with her bingeing.
She really thinks getting WLS is just a quick fix. You get the surgery and can go back to your life and eat the same as before and not gain weight. You still have to work hard, watch your diet, and talk to your therapist. Its not really a surprise to anyone they denied her except Amber.

as a psych person, the worst part of amberlynn is her fatalist attitude about her mental health. you see this a lot in mental health discussions online but people act like there’s nothing to be done and they wallow in their misery and make it a sickness competition with other people. meds, therapy, and support make a world of difference. getting better isn’t easy and it’s not linear but it can be done!
If she truly has OCD, she has to learn to cope with those anxious feelings with different mechanisms.

She’s speaking on it as in terms of a quick fix vs a life long change. She needs to use this year to really hone in on her eating disorders and lose some weight. She’s so heavy…it’s already risky. She has legit said “I have been diagnosed with OCPD” then “I have OCD not OCPD” and back and forth but most recently she had said “I have OCD, not OCPD, 2 different things.” And now today it’s “I have BOLTH”. Wtf she is nuts. I need a video from someone showing all of these clips. SHE needs a video showing them lol not that it will change a thing.. she has many lies like this.
she has 10 years of her claiming online to have binge eating disorder among a bunch of other issues, now she wants the dr to think she doesn't. I bet someone went real world and tipped off that office to let them know. i mean, that's pretty shitty, but I wouldn't put it past someone.
I wouldn't be surprised if a doctor viewed some of her videos and observed a pattern of misrepresenting what they say and twisting their words lol

I guarantee someone in the office either a surgical assistant or nurse or even a scheduler knows who she is. They deal with weight loss so they probably watch M600PL and UA-cam off an on so it wouldn’t be a stretch that someone knows of her

Good thing ALR really loves those two people in her life today as she completely burns any remaining bridges with her old ones.
She is losing it because she can't control this process. that's part of her OCPD, but without extensive therapy she has no idea how to cope. And the only person who can care enough to get her into therapy is her.

She really doesn’t understand that everybody who walks through the door to that weight-loss surgeon’s office has trauma which has led them to be in the condition they are in. Whether physical, emotional, whatever - they all have trauma of some description which landed them there. She’s not a “special case”. Doctors won’t hush her through the back door and skip the queue because she’s got a “special” type of situation or trauma. Unreal.
Also; if she thinks not binging for one year is unattainable… wait until she hears how long she has to go without binging after the surgery (spoiler - it’s forever)
Also, she does this dry mouth thing when she's on delta 8 that makes me think she took something for this video. Like this manic all over the place speech reminds me of her voice notes to Jordy.

Amber shoved her camera in Eric and Ricky faces for years. She filmed everybody (even children) during family gatherings. And you could see that most people were uncomfortable and her pulling out the camera was a conversation ender. Remember when Density, Dana, Eric and Ricky allowed her to film only when the camera was pointed at herself?
Those people didn't want to be filmed most of the time. But a spoiled brat Amber did it anyway. She probably whined her way through. But now she got new people who she can't toss around and get her way. Which is good. But it's very unfair to say that her old friends "wanted" to be in vlogs.

She needs a surgery date to keep Jade around longer. She has been given an ultimatum. She is grasping at anything to try and convince her to stay. Do you think Jade has already left? I can't believe she would take an Uber if Jade was there.
She could literally set her own deadline and work towards that. Then she would have the control she is craving
She has no access to talk to the surgeon because she hasn't been approved.
