The irony is that she *can* change her audience. If she becomes a Lego channel, the viewers interested in Lego will stay and the rest will go. Same for cleaning… same for weight loss… etc. But when she changes her channel every week, she’s left with the critics because everyone else left.

She has to grasp on to her recovery for herself. Wifey, mental healthcare providers, etc. can only do so much to help her. I will reaffirm that many insurance companies in Kentucky cover weight loss surgery.

I’m in Louisiana and a guy named Al opened Al’s Chicago dogs and I loved it so much! unfortunately he closed it and now I can’t find one anywhere in town. Oh gosh I'm not the person to ask haha. I'm not a big hot dog person (let alone specifically a Chicago dog person cause I like ketchup on it if I do have one and that's a Chicago sin). I do know people love Portillo's though! They have hot dogs, italian beef, and milkshakes with an entire piece of cake in them.
She wants us to be the supportive parents she never had. She wants us to tell her she’s valid, that’s she’s pretty and smart or interesting. She doesn’t want any criticism or help. She wants to be coddled and to get away with anything. She needs to connect with her inner child and those desires/needs that were never fulfilled, because as it stands now, that pained inner child is running the show 100%. She has never aged past maybe 10 emotionally. It’s sad but at some point, an adult needs to adult and we’re tired of ChildLynn.

Something I learned a couple years ago: if you go about your life and a couple of people don't like you- that's fine, normal, healthy even, even if it doesn't feel great. If you go about your life and MOST people don't like you, or stop liking you, you need to look at yourself

She wants to make this boring content that's the same shit over and over where she "forgets to film" part of it, but still wants a million subscribers who all love her and have no constructive criticism or differing opinions. I think that neither she or her viewers are “gaslighting”. This is a term related to abusive relationships. She is not abusing her viewers and she is not being abused by them. I agree that her viewers have different opinions than her. I also think that she is attempting to manipulate her viewers. But manipulation does not equal gaslighting.

Any time someone calls her on it, she attempts to make it so that everyone around the person questioning her doesn’t believe them (not that it works well) and will also blatantly tell someone that they didn’t actually see/hear what they did. If the ADHD assessment comes back and she does have it, I'm worried that instead of being motivating, as in "I finally know how my brain works and how to make it easier for myself", she will see it as an irreparable situation and something you can't work with.
Oh no she would be thrilled with a diagnosis to use not as an explanation to her behavior but as an excuse. She always uses random diagnoses (self or professional) to excuse her behavior and set the bar super low so when she accomplishes the most mundane tasks she has a reason to feel like it’s way bigger than it actually is.
@@ttc958 I think a lot of the diagnosis she has were given with AmberLynn trying to be diagnosed. Therefore, I think it’s very likely she exaggerated the symptoms she may be experiencing and stretches certain things to fit. I say this because for someone to have the amount of diagnoses she has, she would need constant 24/7 help to just do normal things. I don’t think she realized how debilitating ONE mental illness is and that she doesn’t have to have 15.
I think Amberlynn really suffers from never having to work as an adult. She had a job with Destiny at the nursing home, but that was barely any time, and since then, she's made a very good living doing the basics. And UA-cam back when she started was a bit easier to make a living from just regularly uploading, and she doesn't have the capacity to understand that in any job, you have to improve and change tactics and progress, and so she's offended at the idea that her audience has any sort of demands beyond "film and upload." I don't think she's going to ever reach that level of understanding until it's too late, and honestly, I don't think that UA-cam will pay her bills beyond another couple of years, at most.
She needs to find something that will allow her to think of something besides ALR. If she’s not recording herself, she’s answering IG questions about herself. If she’s not answering IG questions about herself, she’s filling out her bullet journal about every little aspect of herself. This is wild to me.

Truly TRULY Amber should just turn into an ASMR channel. The community is really uplifting. And the mundane things she does is EXACTLY what that community wants. The Legos could be a great visual and audio trigger plus all the journal and book sounds like I’m being serious. I think if she moved that direction she could live her happy simple life and still make a living off UA-cam
She feels entitled that viewers just keep watching her no matter what she puts out. Of course no matter what you gonna get some people saying that your content is not something they like, but if more and more people keep saying that, the case is your audience tries to tell you that they wants to watch you, but you are no longer interesting to them. She have roughly two choices 1) Keep doing what makes her happy and potentially loose even more viewers or 2) Try to find something that is interesting and people would want to watch. If this was just hobby, it wouldn't really matter if people like her content or not, but if she wants to do this as her job, she needs to be entertaining. There is no job without any downsides.
If she’s only gonna listen to one doctor at a time then WHY have multiple doctors? The whole point is to work alongside all of them and talk about the advice that you get from each of them. They’re supposed to all be forms of support. If you’re only gonna listen to one doctor, then leave all your other doctors
I have lupus and a host of other co-funs 😉 and I have legitimately 9 doctors, 4 of them alone are for my GI issues, which I just went through a partial gastrectomy after removing a stimulator; it gets annoying and frustrating sometimes but you absolutely have to work with all of them and make sure they’re working together. They also have case workers and social workers that can help out when you have a complicated case. Amber has all the help in the world at the touch of her fingertips but she just doesn’t want it and want them talking with each other bc then she can’t “split” and conveniently leave out things and lie. If she truly wanted to get better the help is right there. But she’d rather be coddled like a child, patted on the back and never held accountable for her own actions and results as the “32 year old woman” she is. Sorry to go off and be long winded but sometimes it just drives me nuts that there are people out there with the ABILITY to change their circumstances who simply refuse and then whine and complain, while so many of us out here don’t have a choice and it’s genetics or an accident or something truly out of our control that brings us down. She’s her own worst enemy but out here looking for us to tell her she’s not. Grrrr.

I don’t understand how Amber has ZERO resilience. All that time spent with her supposedly amazing psychologist and she still hasn’t learned any coping techniques or developed an understanding that she has the capacity to make choices that can positively impact her mental health. If it wasn’t for the super logical, entertaining and most importantly transformative Zach, I would have bailed on Amber long ago from the frustration I feel watching this looping behaviour!

Well another big reason why ppl have been suspicious of wifey is bc Amber seems genuinely difficult/annoying to be around, much less live with 24/7. So the next logical thought is, what would make putting up with her worth it?
I truly think she keeps her doctors separate so they don't find out her lies. Her primary care doctor and lymphedema doctor would absolutely spill the tea and tell the weight loss clinic and surgeon that she's not listening to their advice and hasn't lost weight or put in the effort to lose and change.
She's always talking about how UA-cam and her audience are toxic and how it's triggering to do weigh ins and how her audience sucks the joy out of everything she does. And even believing that, she STILL refuses to put her mental (and therefore physical) health first and take a break from UA-cam. Like bestie, it's okay to take a few months off (or longer of course), work on yourself and come back when you're more equipped to handle things or have lost a bunch of weight. But she won't so 🤷♀️
There is literally NO job she could get that would pay her a 6-figure income that UA-cam provides. If she quit UA-cam, at best she'd get on disability and that wouldn't even cover a week of takeout for her, never mind rent and other bills. She is stuck making UA-cam videos and she is very aware of that. There is zero evidence that she enjoys making videos. She doesn't do any editing so it's not that either. I imagine she feels a ton of resentment about it and it shows.
If you go into a room and 98 out of 100 people hate you maybe it’s just because you are a bad person. If your name is brought up in a room full of random people who know who you are and most of their reactions are negative it’s probably because there is a reason to dislike you.

I’m on the fence as to whether she’s ever spoken to a psychologist because the first thing they drum into you is that you can’t control others’ behaviour. And this gorl spends her whole time trying to control others’ behaviour.
She keeps talking about how she is allowed to express herself and share how she feels which is true in the context of friendships and actual relationships but the thing is her viewers are not her friends. They’re her viewers. She’s not entitled to the things that go with a relationship with this sea of strangers. It’s like a parasocial relationship gone off the rails. Her job as an entertainer is not exempt from the normal ways people interact with entertainment (having opinions, liking or disliking certain aspects of her content, talking about it, etc)
Regarding her having to self-pay WLS, I find it interesting(?) that no clinic has reached out and offered to pay for it in exchange for her documenting it on her channel. For example, a lot of Korean surgeons offer influencers free cosmetic surgery in exchange for them documenting the experience and results on Insta and UA-cam. She has 200k followers and could bring a lot of publicity to a surgeon/clinic… but maybe she’s just too polarising of a character for them to want to sponsor her like that? They might be hesitant she will bring negative attention, especially if she doesn’t put in the work for it to succeed. But in general, I find it kind of wild she doesn’t utilise her audience and “influence” as leverage to do deals like that. She has a unique platform that other people her size do not have that she could use to her advantage. She could try reaching out to surgeons to see if they could offer her some kind of sponsorship in exchange for advertisement.

I think when she doesn’t leave the house much or have many friends/family to see, she has to rely on viewers for human interaction and on top of that she does her work in the house she never leaves making her real life be almost nonexistent and therefore no separation from real life and her content/work.

Amber reminds me heavily of myself before I was diagnosed and treated for BPD. Blaming others for all problems, not being able to work/not taking care of self, negative attitude, not able to listen to constructive criticism, and being drowned by your delusional thoughts about how the world “should” work. She needs a therapist who can gently change her views until she is able to accept reality for what it is. Inpatient treatment was the best thing that ever happened to me, although I hated every minute of it. I hope she can listen to some of this criticism and see that she needs real psychological help. But for now I feel that she is stuck.

The Kentucky insurance thing is just a LAH, a quick Google search shows you several providers and insurance companies in Kentucky that cover bariatric surgery. She has her choice of both providers and insurance, the whole thing is just another excuse
She needs to learn to focus on what she can control vs what she can't. She can't control people's reactions. She can only control her reaction and how she responds. That goes for not just Amber but for every human honestly.
She also needs to get out and start walking a little to get out and see a bit of the world and help her weightloss she supposedly wants. It's not going to magically happen
She absolutely needs a new therapist. If her current one is HAES, it isn’t going to align with the goal of WLS. She’s also been in therapy for a year, she should have some coping skills for when she feels like bingeing or after a binge, to which nothing has changed. She needs an actual therapist who specializes in BED and understanding how this will be impacted after WLS
Totally agree - You can definitely have more than one psychologist/therapist. I have a main therapist and another therapist just for my BED. They know about each other and collaborate so that their care doesn’t contradict each other. This is fairly common.
I think I’m going to call it a quits with ALR updates. Thanks Zach but it is so tiring hearing the same thing over & over. She’s never going to change and how many times can we see the cycle repeat itself Time to ditch ALR all 2023.

Oh gosh I'm not the person to ask haha. I'm not a big hot dog person (let alone specifically a Chicago dog person cause I like ketchup on it if I do have one and that's a Chicago sin). @@ttc958 I think a lot of the diagnosis she has were given with AmberLynn trying to be diagnosed. Therefore, I think it’s very likely she exaggerated the symptoms she may be experiencing and stretches certain things to fit. I say this because for someone to have the amount of diagnoses she has, she would need constant 24/7 help to just do normal things. I don’t think she realized how debilitating ONE mental illness is and that she doesn’t have to have 15.

I think Amberlynn really suffers from never having to work as an adult. She had a job with Destiny at the nursing home, but that was barely any time, and since then, she's made a very good living doing the basics. And UA-cam back when she started was a bit easier to make a living from just regularly uploading, and she doesn't have the capacity to understand that in any job, you have to improve and change tactics and progress, and so she's offended at the idea that her audience has any sort of demands beyond "film and upload." I don't think she's going to ever reach that level of understanding until it's too late, and honestly, I don't think that UA-cam will pay her bills beyond another couple of years, at most.
She needs to find something that will allow her to think of something besides ALR. If she’s not recording herself, she’s answering IG questions about herself. If she’s not answering IG questions about herself, she’s filling out her bullet journal about every little aspect of herself. This is wild to me.

Of course no matter what you gonna get some people saying that your content is not something they like, but if more and more people keep saying that, the case is your audience tries to tell you that they wants to watch you, but you are no longer interesting to them.
She have roughly two choices 1) Keep doing what makes her happy and potentially loose even more viewers or 2) Try to find something that is interesting and people would want to watch.

I have lupus and a host of other co-funs 😉 and I have legitimately 9 doctors, 4 of them alone are for my GI issues, which I just went through a partial gastrectomy after removing a stimulator; it gets annoying and frustrating sometimes but you absolutely have to work with all of them and make sure they’re working together. They also have case workers and social workers that can help out when you have a complicated case. Amber has all the help in the world at the touch of her fingertips but she just doesn’t want it and want them talking with each other bc then she can’t “split” and conveniently leave out things and lie.
If she truly wanted to get better the help is right there. But she’d rather be coddled like a child, patted on the back and never held accountable for her own actions and results as the “32 year old woman” she is.
Sorry to go off and be long winded but sometimes it just drives me nuts that there are people out there with the ABILITY to change their circumstances who simply refuse and then whine and complain, while so many of us out here don’t have a choice and it’s genetics or an accident or something truly out of our control that brings us down.
She’s her own worst enemy but out here looking for us to tell her she’s not.

I don’t understand how Amber has ZERO resilience. If it wasn’t for the super logical, entertaining and most importantly transformative Zach, I would have bailed on Amber long ago from the frustration I feel watching this looping behaviour!

There is literally NO job she could get that would pay her a 6-figure income that UA-cam provides. If she quit UA-cam, at best she'd get on disability and that wouldn't even cover a week of takeout for her, never mind rent and other bills. She is stuck making UA-cam videos and she is very aware of that. There is zero evidence that she enjoys making videos. She doesn't do any editing so it's not that either. I imagine she feels a ton of resentment about it and it shows.

She keeps talking about how she is allowed to express herself and share how she feels which is true in the context of friendships and actual relationships but the thing is her viewers are not her friends. They’re her viewers. She’s not entitled to the things that go with a relationship with this sea of strangers. It’s like a parasocial relationship gone off the rails. Her job as an entertainer is not exempt from the normal ways people interact with entertainment (having opinions, liking or disliking certain aspects of her content, talking about it, etc)

Regarding her having to self-pay WLS, I find it interesting(?) that no clinic has reached out and offered to pay for it in exchange for her documenting it on her channel. For example, a lot of Korean surgeons offer influencers free cosmetic surgery in exchange for them documenting the experience and results on Insta and UA-cam. She has 200k followers and could bring a lot of publicity to a surgeon/clinic… but maybe she’s just too polarising of a character for them to want to sponsor her like that? They might be hesitant she will bring negative attention, especially if she doesn’t put in the work for it to succeed.
But in general, I find it kind of wild she doesn’t utilise her audience and “influence” as leverage to do deals like that. She has a unique platform that other people her size do not have that she could use to her advantage. She could try reaching out to surgeons to see if they could offer her some kind of sponsorship in exchange for advertisement.
The possibility of failure is too high!! And when she fails she’s going to blame the clinic!!

If people dislike her content or disagree with her she sees it as "hate". She can post whatever she wants but she can't expect everyone to like it. I feel like she can't separate her real life from video content.
I think when she doesn’t leave the house much or have many friends/family to see, she has to rely on viewers for human interaction and on top of that she does her work in the house she never leaves making her real life be almost nonexistent and therefore no separation from real life and her content/work.

Amber reminds me heavily of myself before I was diagnosed and treated for BPD. Blaming others for all problems, not being able to work/not taking care of self, negative attitude, not able to listen to constructive criticism, and being drowned by your delusional thoughts about how the world “should” work. She needs a therapist who can gently change her views until she is able to accept reality for what it is. Inpatient treatment was the best thing that ever happened to me, although I hated every minute of it. I hope she can listen to some of this criticism and see that she needs real psychological help. But for now I feel that she is stuck.

The Kentucky insurance thing is just a LAH, a quick Google search shows you several providers and insurance companies in Kentucky that cover bariatric surgery. She has her choice of both providers and insurance, the whole thing is just another excuse

She needs to learn to focus on what she can control vs what she can't. She can't control people's reactions. She can only control her reaction and how she responds. That goes for not just Amber but for every human honestly.
She also needs to get out and start walking a little to get out and see a bit of the world and help her weightloss she supposedly wants. It's not going to magically happen
She absolutely needs a new therapist. If her current one is HAES, it isn’t going to align with the goal of WLS. She’s also been in therapy for a year, she should have some coping skills for when she feels like bingeing or after a binge, to which nothing has changed. She needs an actual therapist who specializes in BED and understanding how this will be impacted after WLS
Totally agree - You can definitely have more than one psychologist/therapist. I have a main therapist and another therapist just for my BED. They know about each other and collaborate so that their care doesn’t contradict each other. This is fairly common.
I think I’m going to call it a quits with ALR updates. Thanks Zach but it is so tiring hearing the same thing over & over.
