Gotta love how they were so picky about how much time people had on stage but Geoff gave himself over 10 minutes of being on his knees for Kojima lmao
This year's Game Awards wasn't that great, especially when they basically told everyone outside of celebrities to please hurry up with their giant prompter.
Celebrities (and Kojima) got to speak way longer and used up more time than the actual game devs... you know, the whole point of the Game Awards.
For me though, this game awards wasn't too much for me to be excited about.
Was sad when Ben Starr didn't win best performance, but Neil Newbon was the only one in the list that could have realistically beat him. Though FF16 winning best music was good enough for me.
Excited to see what SEGA pushes out with the remakes and whatever they're doing with the classics.
Flute Guy is always a treat.
Lastly, excited for the new Monster Hunter, even though it's in 2025.

I wouldn't get excited about the SEGA stuff, it's pretty much guaranteed to be live service garbage given the ways their upper executives have been in recent interviews.
My ass was extremely surprised (and kinda disappointed) at the 2025 announcement for the new MH. I was certain capcom gonna put out the game next year for the 20th anniversary
Probably because celebrities can get them hella connections and publicity and secure their professions and guarantee moving up and making more money and game devs are overworked nobodies behind computers to them

Kind of sad Coney edited around the fact that he had a sponsor for this stream, and he didn't know who it was until they appeared in the game awards. Every game trailer he had to wait a minute just in case they were the sponsor.
It’s kinda crazy how mid the game awards were this year despite how many great games in many genres there were. At least the Orchestra is always awesome
Sega hard carried unironically
For me the best thing was Final Fantasy, Guilty Gear, and Monster Hunter.
Oh and Blade looks really cool.
Excited for a new game in the Mana series, but aside from that it was pretty mid. Happy for all the people who are excited for more of the games though!
Aonuma absolutely did not deserve to be rushed, what if other Nintendo developers see that and end up not wanting to go to the Game Awards because they’ll be rushed off stage during a brief speech.

They seriously did these game devs dirty during this year’s GAs. These devs busted their asses off working on these great games that were nominated and awarded at this year’s GAs and yet they were forced to rush on their heartfelt speeches on the amount of effort they put into creating this games because the management of this year’s GAs decided to spend more time on showcasing ads instead. That’s just downright disrespectful really, especially towards these devs.

It does have good accessibility options though. There's a mode for deaf people were you can hear the track. There's also a mode where the car drives completely by itself.

@@alexmartin6561 people asume it's trash becuase of the bad story. that's the thing. this was the best gameplay in fire emblem history. it's amazing in that regard and that's the catagory it was put twards the game awards on.

No it got nerfed by leaning waaaaay to heavily on things BOTW did, where it should have tried to be more of its own. I don’t even mind some things (for example using the same overworld map, all the stuff they added to it made it feel fresh to explore for me) but in terms of story and overall structure it’s just the exact same. Go to the four places, help them with their problem, do shrines to gain power, find memories to learn what happened in the past. It’s the same thing just with a different story (a story that doesn’t work nearly as well with that structure).

Despite how good the games were this year, the awards show was boring as hell. Also, I personally don't see gaming to have this good of a year for the next 1-3 years. I sense some dark times ahead.
