Had they not drafted Brock, Both Kyle and John would be elsewhere and the team would be rebuilding.
I agree a coach and gm who made a super bowl appearance before Purdy was drafted would have been hired elsewhere and probably made that team better
A hack’s take, neither would be gone.
Who’s to say Trey lance wouldn’t have been good anyways. People theink lynch and shanahan are idiots because they wasted so many picks and drafted a bust. The dude got hurt and stole the job before Trey lance got his chance. It’s sad for him.. Shit happens but they aren’t
It's crazy Lance only played like 4 games must look bad in practice and had problems with easy throws in games he did play in
You beat me to it. Agree 100%. They spent a lot of draft capital to trade up for Trey Lance. The compensatory seventh round pick they got for losing Jimmy G was used on Brock Purdy!
Now imagine if they had all their draft picks intact by not drafting Lance & it might’ve put them in position to make one more play & beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Trey Lance should not have been drafted in the first 2 rounds by any team that adhered a proven player grading system. IMHO some teams allow media to influence their drafting.
Drafting Trey Lance, such an extremely unexperienced QB, with three first round picks will always be a head scratcher.
Not just a head scratcher but a full on head ache. I still can't understand why they ever did this. Dumb.
My bud would call me up about mahomes. He went to tech and was a fan. Mahomes lit up that scoreboard. Performances legendary but kyle didn't even notice him.
They owe Purdy alot. So do his teammates. Great job young man
It's hard to cut even 2 MILLION from a pay check. Are you from a state that takes more money from your check? Hard work is by your talent. Get yours but I don't need an extra 9 million. I want to see the 49ers plow the field
I would think every football player would want Texaaa Tennessee or Florida without any state income tax
Purdy has been huge!
@@mrchittim4629 Hard work on top 🔥
@@mrchittim4629 it’s been a decision for players in the past too 👀
purdy saved Shanahan and Lynches jobs
10:58 as an ISU fan, I was watching preseason Brock closely, and that was my favorite moment, watching his patented pump fake work at that level.
people would be fired if not for purdy. john lynch thanks god everyday for purdy
Kyle would’ve been on the hot seat
He was already
Could’ve had jmar chase, Sewell, Slater,Surtain or parsons
Loved this analysis, thank you!
The 49ers would be up Sh*t Creek without the preverbial paddle without Brock.
The 49ers couldn’t afford Rodgers or Cousins due to salary cap. Lynch would be gone & Kyle would have a hot seat while looking for a QB. The compensatory seventh round pick they got for losing Jimmy G was used on Brock Purdy!
Now imagine if they had their 3 first round picks intact by not drafting Lance & it might’ve put them in position to make one more play & beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Trey Lance should not have been drafted in the first 2 rounds by any team that adhered a proven player grading system. IMHO some teams allow media to influence their drafting.
No need to watch the video. Minus Brock Purdy, the 9ers would have a different HC and GM.
49ers shouldn’t sign QBs. They should draft them in late rounds, develop them & trade them for higher draft picks in year 4 or 5.
In the gutter otherwise.
man said f joshallen and herbert
I feel like Kirk Cousins would’ve been our QB had Purdy not been drafted.
Sam would be the starter , and Kyle and John on the Horst seat
👀
It really doesn't matter because they did draft Purdy
Easy...we probably got an affordable stop gap QB for 2022 and 23 then possibly moved up in this years draft, again, selling the farm for three more years, to get one of this year's QBs.
Purdy will get a contract extension.
We would have brought in Brady.
Imagine that team tho
Crazy thing is Trey never even payed that bad he really just never got a real chance
and a funny thing about Brock...last season, in games where he made fewer than 30 pass attempts, the team went 10 & 1....but in games where he had 30 or more pass attempts, including in the SB loss to KC, the team went just 4 & 4!!
So, Purdy is PHENOMINIAL, as long as whatever game Plan Shanahan comes up with, allows the running game to do its job and only gives Purdy about 2 dozen attempts to work his magic...otherwise, if the run game gets shut down, or Kyle decides to deviate from it for whatever reason and wants to go head-to-head with the other QB and makes Purdy have to throw the ball, odds of winning drastically decrease with each attempt!!!!
Interesting stat, but you do have to factor in their oline. They're good run blockers, but are awful pass protectors. Brock had to run for his life on multiple occasions last year. I think he's totally fine throwing the ball in volume, I just think he needs better protection and/or a better man-beating WR@@itzanopinion
We seen enough ! Did not have it ! He will never be a starting QB
We’d be stuck with Lance, a grim future indeed.
Should have fired them all and the Yorks sell the team out of shame.
Kirk cousins would of been a 49er this year and not a falcon
Imagine that
He been sitting at home doing nothing
No Purdy, they likely would’ve persued Cousins and/or be drafting Caleb this year.
And this would imply a loss of capital. Either Draft capital or financial.
bro get royalty music.
absolutely the dumbest trade up ive ever seen. for a 1 year starter in the missouri valley conference??......THE MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE??? 3 first round picks? and they kept their jobs lol.. wow. ...even if they expected those picks to be late 1sts, its still monumentally dumb. it makes you wonder if the shrewd decisions theyve made were just blind luck.
You can say this shit about the Patriots and Tom Brady.
No you can’t…. Tom brady had won his team multiple superbowls already
@@DiegoLopez-oc5su Tom played for 20 years too. Purdy going into his 3 year. I standby what I said, the Patriots got lucky just like the Niners drafting good QBs in the 6th and 7th round.
Trevor Lawrence hasn't established himself at all. If he sucks this year he may ne on the beach
The same thing that happened with him...Super Bowl loss.
If Jimmy doesn't over throw Emanuel Sanders, we don't get Trey, Brock, and we keep Jimmy and buck.... But all is forgiven had we not picked Solomon Thomas instead getting Patrick Mahomes smdh
