What do you mean? We only traded him to the chiefs to mentor and help develop a quarterback that beat us twice in the Super Bowl 😅 karma is a you know what 😂 go Niners!
He certainly didn't have the career he would have liked, but he was a great Niner. Never whined or complained despite having, what, 7 OC's in 7 years? Really good guy and great teammate.
They would’ve won the super bowl against the ravens if they would’ve put in Smith and pulled out that bum Kap! Smith was a better decision maker and better QB than Kap!
@@T_MAINLYsure!! They nearly erased a 27 point comeback! What More would Alex have done? LeMicheal James’ fumble , that 106 yard Kickoff return and the defense getting roasted by Boldin lost that Super Bowl !! We’re not gonna rewrite history!! KAP with Andy Reid would’ve been awesome!
I think Purdy said it best why he was the best processor right out of college. Dude just had so many more reps in college than everyone else out there. To put that in prospective Purdy had 1467 attempts, young 908 attempts, Garcia 887 attempts, Alex Smith 587. Purdy during his sophomore season was considered a 1st round pick, but if he hadn’t stayed in college he most likely wouldn’t nearly have been as good as he is now
It's not just about reps though; Brock actively tries to get better and does deliberate practice . And he has the mental psychology and makeup for it. You can have all the reps in the world at something but that doesn't mean you'll be world-class or even great at it. Practice makes permanent, not perfect.
I was the calligrapher for Alex Smith’s wedding to Elizabeth Barry. He met up with me at a local Starbucks to finish the table cards. Super nice, humble guy!
I started watching in 99 when Steve was still QB, then Jeff came and i really admired him as well, i remembr watchin AS get drafted and play, and now we got Brocky!!!! Niner Faithful for LIFE!!!! LOVE SOME NINER HISTORY!!! Bang Bang!

Jeff Garcia you are awesome dude thanks for stopping a big fan to ask for direction & for taking the time to take a picture with me😅. Let’s go ‼️ Bang bang ‼️ Niner Gang ‼️
I remember back in the early days of seeing Alex Smith at The Hut I. Santa Clara. It was mid week and the guy looking stressed. Realized then and there that pro athletes are people who care. Never jumped on negative narratives again.
Brock Purdy looks just as tall and just as big as Steve Young, why didn't we ever heard about how small Steve Young was when he won all those Divisional tittles, NFC tittles, Super Bowl tittles, MVP tittles, and Pro Bowls tittles?
^^ true, also the prototype was different back than. CJ Stroud would have been a phenom in there eras and he is great, just wasn’t necessary or common. You had to play and process back than.
@@gabrielamaya4194 Not only that, but if you played for coach Walsh, you had to be able to drop back a precise number of steps before throwing the ball in order to hit the WR on time. Coach Walsh was big on those timing pass plays.
@@truthhurtz8517 I've watch each one of his games live for the 49ers, and he is the same size as he is now. He just replaced his muscles for some fats on his body now. Sorry for sounding disrespectful to a HOF, but fact is fact.

I was also here! I think most media was there, yourself Brad, David Lombardi, including Matt Maiocco and bumped into Greg Papa in the bathroom lol. good stuff to hear from these guys!
Alex had the toughest first start over any QB. Aaron would have struggled too imo. 7 different OCs and 7 completely different playbooks. That's insane for anyone. Alex would have given us a bowl if the niners gave his starter spot back after the concussion that entered Kaepernick imo. No one was gonna better Alex that season. He was managing the game at a very high level due to his drive. Alex was a top QB before the concussion.
My question is where the heck is Joe Montana? It all started with him, so I feel he should have been there. I believe Joe and Dwight Clark got along pretty well too.
@@Finalize777 because Smith was better and was done wrong. Kaep couldn’t throw without it being a bullet pass and his great legs that got them there were nowhere to be found when it mattered.
I thought it was a mistake to take out smith for kaep until the play offs. We finally beat GB. We wouldnt had beat GB with smith. Our passing game was dominant with kaep. Now later on kaep fell off, yes. He was so bad i still believe he played bad on purpose
@@Finalize777 well that’s a take. Problem is, we both don’t know what would’ve happened had we let Smith come back and take back over, however Kaep was never that accurate nor did he have good touch on his passes when need be. When he tried, it didn’t work in the SB. The other mobile QBs were able to make you fear their arm, once the defense knew how to keep the ends to contain and let the box be stacked, he couldn’t do much. Hell there is a play that Boldin is wide open and the QB doesn’t look his direction. They literally didn’t have anyone within 20 yards of Boldin pre snap and he never noticed.

Purdy rockin them cowboy boots. Respect...
We did Alex Smith so wrong 😔
He has parlayed adversity into strength
I don't think so, they kept Alex for a long time giving his performances over in SF. He was great in KC, but for sure he loves the Niners
I wasn't a Alex Smith fan at all in the beginning. When Jim came and I saw him improve so much, I changed my opinion. Now I respect him even more.

That's mess up that Joe Montana wasn't there
Yes, very disappointed especially seeing he and Clark were so close.
Maybe joe don't want to come...
It's sad how Joe won so many SBs for the Niners yet is rarely seen in Niner events like this😔

The amount of times people said "joe and steve" when talking about niner quarter backs and Jeff Garcia just looking down each time.
The alex years were so hard. I wish Norv Turner never left. Alex would have thrived under turner. So many HC’s and OC’s
Jeff is super animated. Surprised he does not host his own sports show.
Wow Jeff Garcia’s story was incredible! Can’t believe i didn’t know all that!
We are missing a few other qbs. Joe Montana, Jimmy G, Colin Kaepernick.
We’d have multiple rings if Jim had Alex in the beginning 😮👀
That's CLASS

I have not seen Jeff in years , I can barely recognize him
Only QBs missing, Kaep, Goroppolo, and Montana
We know Kaep's situation he's probably not on good terms with the Niners and Jimmy G is now a Rams player with his own issues with Kyle. 🤷♂

Where is Joe Montana
Where’s Joe and Kapernick?
Joe don’t love us as much as we love him lol either that or my guy is just lowkey anti social 😂

Is Alex walking with a limp?
Alex Smith was a pro-bowl QB?

Where's Jimmy G?
