Witch: "I could lift the curse...but why would I?"
Geralt: "I could bang you in return"
Witch: "..."
Geralt: "..."
Witch: "Deal."
Accurate.
Achillez witch: I could lift the curse but why would I?
Geralt: Up for a game of gwent?
Witch: *smiles*
Geralt: *smiles*
Witch: *nods*
This too oblivious. I'm sure they went naked gwent ...
fajar adi Pradana I think you mean strip Gwent. The best version of Gwent!
@@mot5919 more accurate for TW3 Geralt.
The guy who gives the contract is such a pure soul
A pure soul, but likely hoped that Daphne's revival might sprout his vigil fruit with love of a woman cursed to wait for nothing.
Either way; the guy was kind to find her release; and reacted kindly to the unexpected ending.
I wish i could give him some money, he doesn't earn much for his hard work and still decides to give you those 100 coins to hire you to help this girl.
@@Sheogorath- i bargained the guy for 5 more coins. Lol. But i played the ending where he gets himself killed too. Then when you search him he has only 123 coins on him (assuming he doesn't have some stored elsewhere) Yet he decides to pay a hefty 100 (105 in my case) for this quest. Nice guy woodcutter.
@@ushalweerathunga7081 123 coins you say? Funny, that means i left him with a single crown to his name on my bitcher witcher playthrough, lul.
@@Jamie_Willow u bargained for 122 coins??!! Wow.
Blood and wine is not just a DLC but another game!
True
well said
It’s both tbh
fact
Oath the blood and wine expansion was on par if not better than the base game to me
I think that panther was actually the husband of the tree girl. And the skeleton was just some skeleton.
The witch had a book about animal transformation lying around there.
Oh shit I think you're right
snessub shit I actually read that book and now my minds blown the f away
"Why isn't it attacking"
Ooooooo. Interesting theory. And she never actually says he dies, just that a terrible fate befell him. I'd say getting turned into a panther would qualify.
Didn't they need his actual bones for the spell? Is it possible that convincing the tree girl was sufficient? More questions than answers.
this is the witch who told olgierd about master mirror ;). you can also hear the heart of stone music( which is also played when you lift the curse from the wight cursed by master mirror quest) and there is also a broken mirror in the witch's hut
I was scared af when i heard that
How do you know the wight was cursed by master mirror
Shumayel Khan in a dialogue in the quest, forgot which part, it was stated that the “beggar” whom the woman(cursed wight) refused to give food to during a soiree or party, sold mirrors
A witch told Olgierd about master mirror? Didn't know.. In wich part of the dlc you learn this information?
@@luigitommasi7155 the Professor that studies Gaunter O'Dimm (nearing the very end of the HoS storyline) tells you that a witch told Olgierd about master mirror
I could swear she is related to the Crones somehow. The soundtrack they chose for her. The line of "A word once given..." and a lock of hair all in a quest about a soul trapped in a tree. Maybe Weavess's apprentice?
Interesting suggestion :)
And when she disappears she becomes a swarm of ravens
This could actually have some merit to it, but not with Weavess! Not too far from Lynx Crag is the signpost for Chucote Cave and here's what it's description reads:
"To listen to the old folks' jabber, this place was once home to Whispess - a woodland witch eager to help any in need. When Whispess peered into a certain knight's heart, she saw that it was black and refused him aid. The knight reacted with wrath and burned the witch alive in her cave. Soon afterward, the knight went mad and killed himself - claiming he was tortured by a strange voice whispering in his ear that no one else could hear."
So Whispess actually used to live really close by so it's totally possible the Witch was an apprentice considering she also seems to be very old just like Whispess. This game man, so many things to discover, what a masterpiece.
Every kingdom and lanf has some equivalent to the crones dude to the magic realms according to the lore . so safe to say same type of being but maybe not as evil.
@@xLetalismaybe look it up further? 😂
I WILL FECKING TELL YE WHY
YOU PORKING BET!
Captain here - The best ending is - You read the book, then first you go to the cave under the house and get the bones of her loved one, then you go to the house inspect everything read everything and then you examine the leather - get the handkerchief - in the dialog you ask what happen of her husband then ask nicely to lift the curse first then say you would rather lift it yourself... with the handkerchief and the bones you will get positive ending... doesn't matter what u answer to her ghost... Captain flies away...
@Nii Lantei Bright-Davies you get from the quest giver
@@yolorite3500 is that have different outcome from this video? Or just same?
@@ajoladiang1226 Different
@@yolorite3500 seems i did all that but it didn't work, do you get the option to place her bones while performing the ritual?
edit: nvm, got the bones from the cave AFTER having the conversation with the witch. you mentioned it the other way around tho and i dont think it works that way, cuz Geralt's not sure whose bones those are
@@Titan69 I did as Yolo Rite said and actually got the good ending. But it kinda odd because geralt wouldn't know whose bones that belongs to if he didn't speak to the witch first.
I said I’d break the curse myself, didn’t turn out well.
TheSauerkraut I got uber lucky. Just did everything textbook.
Should revisit the witch
Haha, that may be why in my game she turned out to be a wraith. No rescuing.
never got the option to say please to her lol, said I'd lift it myself and alas
@@Titan69 You have to read the story book woodcutter gives you to learn the use of humility.
anyone else feel like they were setting the witch up for a bigger story? really annoying that this is the last dlc because there is so much more story to be told in the witcher 3 universe
yeah i was also hoping to see more of her in the dlc...it´s a pity that she is gone after the quest. It would have been cool if she was involved in some more quests or that you could go back to her to trade some herbs/ recipes...or you know to do something else ^^
True. If it's a universe then there's infinite stories to tell :D
Ahh Witcher 3, the only game where people give a damn about side quests.
Because Some of them are god tier
I still play this game all the time. They could at least do like GTAV and add dlcs every now and then. I mean why not? People would buy it. It’s an AWESOME game that can be slowly built upon. Add another area for exploration, or hell even add some more quests with the lands we have. I’d take it gladly.
A simple side quest but it has multiple ending. CDPR never fail to amaze us!
yep, I actually talk about all the small aspects of it in one of my Details Missed videos
@@xLetalis Me to! I got a bad ending that the wood cutter died because I forced the witch to lift the curse! Imma play it again Lol
Also, the witch is exceptionally well voice acted. I wish she played a much bigger role
you can find a guy who hung himself on a tree cause the witch tricked him and killed his lover. too bad you cant bring this up when you meet the witch.
Joshua E yeah i spotted that too. Not that far away. Poor bastard loved that woman, made a deal with the devil over earning her heart but boy did it backfire.
Joshua E i don’t think the witch kill his lover. According to the note it implies that the witch turn his over into one of those tree things that you is similar to an Ashen but newly introduced for this DLC (forgot the name)
@@thinhvo3893 leshen
This made me so damn nervous, but in the end, i trusted she wouldn't screw me over and helped me lift the curse. I told Daphene her guy was a cheat too btw. On a sidenote, (for all my Witcher 1 players), I REALLY wanted the witch of Lynx Crag to be Abigail. She could still be a bit twisted, but just seeing her again would've been awesome.
As a witcher 1 player i disagree. Abigail is ok so it woud feel wrong if suddenly she's evil. Would be great to see her, but the way she was before
*My name being Jacob*
Geralt: “You Jacob?”
Me: “Uhm..... yes master Witcher?”
it's just a random guy you find at a tree... and it's great ;] BTW, to persuade her you have to read the book Jacob gives you and learn how to sway her.
another bittersweet love story, but a good one nonetheless.
is there any other kind in this game
indeed
the story of the vanessa and her knight wasn't bittersweet, at least not to me.
if you try alone this happens ua-cam.com/video/i5q4m7DguAU/v-deo.html
I was so sad once I finished the main game. Then I did HoS and now I'm on B&W. I absolutely love this DLC. Enjoying every minute of it. Feels like I'm getting to play a whole new game. Love your videos. They've helped me a lot with quests.
BnW Was just as good if not better then the base game for me
@@spronkthesprinter273 I much prefer the climate of Toussaint than the gloomy and broken northern realm.
I did this the best way possible, choose "lift the curse, or else", beat the crap out of the witch, witch frees girl, girl becomes wraith possessed dog, dog kills woodcutter, I kill dog, I take gold. All in all a good day for a witcher, no loose ends, the witcher way.
fair enough ;]
Fitting way; but hardly the best way.
Geralt refusing to make a deal with a witch of the woods seems fitting; yet Daphne's vengeance and the death of a good Samaritan is hardly the best way.
"the witcher way", if you're from the School of the Asshole
@@TheJupiteL well, yeah Geralt learned in that school, and from the Best Teacher, Lambert.
I was sad I had to kill doggo. I did it your way too. Not giving hair to a witch.
Just go take the handkerchief and then dont ask for her help, go straight to the cave and then take the bone, boom geralt lift the curse peacefully without the witch help. I wonder what that witch doing with geralt's hair...
not a bad idea
@@xLetalis yea i was surprised that it worked. well done cd red project
Plenty of questions, but likely this little pact assures her that Geralt will never be able to honor a contract set upon her by another. There was other mementos or objects cursing other denizens.
- The Broken Arrow cursing its archer with misfortune.
- The Grapevine either promising or cursing bounty.
- The Doll to cast curses...
The Witch of Lynx Crag might be up to no good and simply covered her tracks while working with Geralt.
Thanks that was the best ending
06:14: Geralt stole stuff from the Witch's home not even five minutes ago,
and there she is, speaking with him and not having noticed any discrepancy in her home.
Weird. :-P
Another great quest! Did you know that the witch destroyed another relationship? South of the Fast travel point "Fort astre Ruins" there is a hidden treasure Mark. There, you will find a hanged man, including a letter. The Man actually killed himself because the witch destroyed his love life... Maybe she will interact on that if you then play the quest a knights tale... Maybe thats interresting for you:)
It's so funny hearing English slang in that Toussaint accent "are you taking the wee-pee" "do you think me barmy"
Look your last to the world's four winds.
From the south, not a word.
From the east, no cry is heard.
From the north, silence sighs.
From the west peer hollow eyes.
Cease your vigil - dead he lies.
This guy and Skjall were too pure for this world
For a hot second I could've SWORN she was Margarita
Jacob the Woodcutter is more noble than some of the Knight in the Tale
Oooh Gareth is a Welsh name! So glad to hear some more Welsh things in this game.
I did the "ill lift the curse myself" and accidentally came cross the body while I saw the cave and went to clear it I got the same ending as when you humble yourself and geralt told jacob he bowed to the wictch even tho he didnt
10:55 Yennefer : Shut it or I'll cut more than a lock of hair of yours !
think they can link this quest in the next witcher game and lock the start of a quest under the flag of "did u give ur hair to the witch or not" ?
Blood and wine is the best DLC I`ve ever played! It was awesome.
She's not bad for a Welsh bird
I got this first time without asking the witch for help. Got lucky by finding Garet’s bones in the cave
*Geralt literally lives in a world of fairy tale monsters and curses*
Geralt: "There's no way that really happened, it's impossible."
Damn it, I think I only had the option to either force her or do it myself (or my memory is shitty) and I thought the first would end up in a fight with her, so I chose to do it myself...
One more reason to replay the game haha :D
good luck ;)
@@xLetalis Thanks ^-^
Geralt: I know some sorceserecess witcherier than her.
XD
Now that he says it I believe that one sorceress who had her eyes guaged out is witcheyer than her.
He was hinting at Yennefer. And how she makes him jump through hoops all the time
Woodcutter guy definitely makes it into the Top 15 Witcher 3 NPC's/minor characters. Simple peasant with the heart of a true knight.
indeed ;]
Love the witch
me2
Blood and wine dlc you get to build a statue. While looking for the missing bullocks of another. Also notcied how the blood and wine and wine dlc has a lot of quests based on love and the 5 virtues
I like how Geralt's line at 0:09 "...saw your notice" got yt captioned as "sayonara"
He comes he'll go
leave naught behind
But heartache and woe
Eh, but things were actually much brighter already in Tourssaint,
If this happens in Velen, Daphne will probably end up possessing the dog of the lumberjack,
drive the animal mad and insane, then kill the boy.
If that quest wasn't creepy enough, the Witch of Lynx Crag had to look like my ex-gf :/
7:30 I didn't get the second option
you didn't read the book he gave you, so you didn't know about the 2nd option
@@xLetalis strangely I would normally read everything I collect, EXCEPT for this 😤....lifted this curse, but Jacob was the unlucky victim of the spectre
When I completed blood and wine, I just restarted my game and I’m so annoyed that I never spent more time in tousaint
The way to get the best possible ending is to *not haggle with Jacob the Woodcutter* every other outcome is either bitter-sweet or downright awful because of the text options when talking to the Witch are effected by how generous you are in this quest.
The beginning is way creepier if you don't visit the notice board first.
She definitely reminds me of Yen.
may be ;]
@@xLetalis Would've been fitting if he said "We'll bang ok" but I guess Geralt has "grown choosy" blegh
@@jcksparrowfan would've been nice :)
2 out of 3 playthroughs, I got this ending. The 3rd time, I didn't bow to the witch and the ghost became a hard to kill wraith and Jacob called me a bungler. I wish I had the option to respond to that.
I think the witch wanted to keep away from geralt either because she was afraid of him and the company he keeps or because she saw him as a nuisance lol
Pretty much both.
I ventured into the cave on my own and presumed i would find Gareth there after telling the witch i would do it myself and found his bones without her help. I presume that's the best ending but the game kind of acted like i did convince her when i did not when Geralt says to the logger "Made me bow and scrape" when i never got her help. Obviously was never meant to be able to get that ending without her must be an oversight.
sean rogers no matter what you do, geralt will always say that line.
Man I hate kneeling and so refused to kneel to Emhyr who is emperor of most of the world and even though I knew the best way to finish the quest is by humbling myself as I tried it, it left me unsatisfied. I believe the best ending is attempting to lift the curse yourself, you don't have to kneel to this vindictive witch and you can have a quick boss fight, the curse is lifted though in a rough way and the "porking" guy is also alive.
So I think I have a theory about this witch, that she is the one that cursed Vivienne. From what Vivienne told us, she got cursed by a creature from the woods who was envious of her parents’ love - just like she is jealous of love and hates people who are happy. She was demanding pay for being at her woods and when Vivienne’s parents said they don’t have anything she granted their wish in a twisted way, because they said that they want their daughter to be as beatiful as the oriole near the lake. Not the first time in the Witcher where someone grants a wish too literally.
I don't have the dialogue where i kneel..Why?
I went to the cave first, redone without the cave.
Nothing changes.I either beat the crap out of here and he dies,or i lift the curse and she's in pain.STRANGE.
Well, because you don't know that you can kneel to appease her. You gotta read the book to find out first :)
One of the only men to threaten to bust Geralt's chops and survive haha
"so you've noticed"
The subtitle: "sayonara"
You cand find the guys body in the cave under the witches house before you talk to the witch. Get the bone then go in the house talk to the witch. Do not attack her. you can know perform the ritual and you do not need to give her a lock of your hair! You will save Daffny
What if you do the quest bald and shaven?
D
pubes?
I don't think you can be bald
I always chose not to give the witch Geralts hair. I just dont see him being so trusting with a witch that can do some pretty bad shit to him with that lock of hair. If it was for Ciri or someone close to him then yea i could see it, but to be put in such a vulnerable situation over someone he has no real connection with?? Yea i dont see it happening
Such good acting here, i love this game
I told witch to lift the curse but the guy died so I loaded the save game and lifted it myself
this scene made me emotional
yeah it's a wonderful quest
6:45 I didn't get the 2nd dialogue option(the pretty please? one). Anyone know why is that?
Edit : I actually chose to do it on my own, and then randomly decided to go in the cave and fight the endrega workers, and accidentally found Gareth's remains. But when speaking to Jacob, Geralt still said "She made me bow and scrape sure, but I've seen witchier sorceresses." Interesting.
I killed the witch and tried to lift the curse myself...bad idea XD
Such a shame that man innocence was destroyed, Geralt could have pointed to him that life has it's happy and other moments.
so apparently it just gives you a hint of what to do to free the spirit of the tree in the right way, something that on your own you can do alone to find the remains of the geret before in the cave. I thought that this choice made the witch betray you after deceiving you in some way, since the geralt gave her a lock of hair.
I just straight up fight her, didn't have the option to solve it peacefully and owner died by his dog
You didn't read the book perhaps, where it says what you have to do
Fuck, my game has not this choice. So, the woodcutter dead and I can't kill this witch.
U pass a random nice panther on the way up the trail if u go there str8 from the tree up that path
Its foreboding or the same panther the fn witch has
I know it's been such long time and probably no one gonna see this but I did beg the Witch to help and I picked up the bones by myself, for some reason my Geralt still won't put the remains in the fire even though he himself mentioned it in the dialogue with Jacob. I really want the good ending
The panther was actually the husband. If you talk to the witch first and ask about him, you'll have a comment from geralt once you examined his remains talking about magic. You won't get this comment from geralt if you get the remains before talking to the witch or didn't bother to ask about what happened to him.
14:16 *tips fedora*
Only get 3 options on Xbox … I followed step by step still can’t get this outcome
I don't think we should trust a stranger witch who wants some hair of ours to not be seen by us, I want to be able to see her...
That's it. I'm going to have to install Witcher 3 again!
Something weird is if you actually say you will do it yourself and you get the bones yourself the quest text says that i did what the knight from the tale did and bowed even though I never did
I didn't trust her with the lock of hair so i fought her and won
Moralof the story, don't one night stand witches unless youre Geralt.
I kinda felt like they had bigger plans for this witch but nah, she just locks you out for good. I don't know, kinda disappointing.
I do wonder who her cougars are, I'd have liked some info on who they were or if she could transform too
I too wanted more of her
Witch: "I could lift the curse, but, why would i?"
Geralt: "i could offer you some rare natural ingredients..."
Witch: "Hmm. Rare, you say? Interesting... What have you to offer?"
Geralt: "DEEZ NUTS!"
*Geralt cuts witches head off with sword.
Geralt: "Ha! Got eem! Got eem."
*😎Thug Life
In my game it only shows 2 options, where you threaten her and telling her that I can do it myself. How do I get the polite option?
Try reading the book that guy gave you or examine everything in her hut
As Palleine says, it's the book.
xLetalis Palleine thanks
Vallo Khio
No problem :).
Damn i never got this quest ending. I fought the witch but the woodcutter died. So sad. He was a good man
Yeah no way in hell I'm gonna give a lock of my hair to a witch I do not know.
rutger5000 Thats what I did too. If devs wanted to they couldve made it so if you trust an unknown witch you die or get cursed so you got another quest to cure yourself. Plus its not that bad killing a wraith at least shes in peace.
I almost gave myself whiplash when I heard my name at 00:15
Guy has a freaking wolf for a dog and he's supposed to be super childish?
Lift the curse on ur own best ending.
Talk nicely n then choose i ll lift it myself
N then go down the cave
N take knight bone
If you spawn her using console command and talk to her she turns into Keira and talks to you
I just finished Blood and Wine the other week and I have absolutely no memory of this quest. Must have missed it. Where was it?
one of the notice boards in Beauclair
It was either killing Jacob but getting three wishes from a witch or keep Jacob alive and bring a dead woman peace from a heartbreak. Fuck that, I'm keeping the witch in servitude.
Damn, went aggressive for once and the guy is dead.....
wait, where is this? i never got this?
contract in Blood and Wine
What if you go back for a second playthrough it with the knowledge of how to lift the curse properly? Can you do it without ever visiting the witch and giving her your lock of hair?
hmm I don't think you can do it without ever visiting her
I was about to do this but then I thought, she'd just use the lock of hair and prevent me from stopping any bad deed she does.
The tree even looks like a women at one point in the video you can see her hips boots head hair the axe looks too be right above her legs in the belly
Damn tree lady slaughtered my fable man and made me kill the wolf which she was possessing, all because I didn't give the witch my hair :(
you can still do it on your own if you find out what happened to the knight and find his corpse in the cave
my theory after this quest is that witch is indeed the 3rd crown disguised and wanted his immunity from him chasing after her if you look for the irony from this you will see where i'm going with this
i dont want this ending..make geralt down his knees to the witch..i just lift the curse by geralt himself..got this ending too..
I fought her and then the dog got possessed then killed the tree man
Geralt has assets.
Effective ones.
I thought I would throw hands with the witch on the spot if I chose "Lift the curse, or else", so I chose the other option cause I didn't really want to kill her. Didn't seem right to just barge in and cut her down. I guess picking that option didn't mean killing her, oops.
And I swear to God I didn't get a pretty please option
Pretty ballsy for the "knight" to throw the adjective "porking" so loosely. But what do i porking know
