Those caves have been filled in!!! You are walking up towards the ceiling, if the ceiling was collapsing you would be walking over pile of debris and not hitting the ceiling, instead your squeezing through the cave, it's been filled in!!! Awesome video!!!!💪🙏👍
Once you get through that rough opening it opens up nicely 👍Awesome seeing the bat , you would think you would see more of them ! Prayers for the families that lost their loved ones of the Knox mine 🙏Horrible way to go 🙏 Just read up on the disaster after seeing this , so sad ☹ ! Thanks for all that you do, stay safe !!
Some videos are too scary for me to watch and watching you go through sketch universe pushed me to the limit . Obviously your fine or NO VIDEO but still it made my toes curl up!
The bad environmental conditions, the constant dampness, the mold and fungus spores, all the rust you can taste in the air. If you lived down there, how long before before you'd have some respiratory illness.
Imagine? I always eat a Nice plate full of Bats and Spiders while watching the newest Amazing Pennsylvania video! Sometimes even Cold if the Microwave isn't Working..
My grandfather was a LVRR supervisor, who was put in charge of the gathering of the mine cars from coxton yards that were then dumped off when they cut the tracks to try and clog up the hole.
He lived at 795 Main St, facing Coxton yards, I just stumbled on your videos and I am enthralled by your mine exploring videos. As a 55yr old grandson of a railroader on my mom's side, and a miner on my dad's side, I have high interests of both, but seeing videos exploring the mines like yours, and imagining what it was like for those who worked in them, it brings strong emotions of that past era that I was never even a part of but connected to thru family stories, especially events such as the Knox mine disaster!! Keep up the great vids, but more importantly be safe!!!
The caves across from the side entrance to the Taylor, PA Walmart shopping center would likely be a good spot to hide from the apocalypse too. They've been there forever but the trees have grown up so much that you can't really see them anymore. It might be a good spot to check out. Though the hillside to get to them is rather steep.
@@AmazingPennsylvania You're quite welcome. There's more than a few there if I remember correctly. It's a shame I never had a video camera back in the day because there were a lot of ruins where Kane has their warehouses in the Staffeur Industrial Park, including at least 1-2 shafts, a roundhouse for turning carts around and many others. There was even a wide open tunnel at the end of my street with complete three piece collar sets going back as far as you could see and a nearby switch inside its own building.
@CheapestGamer I haven't sent much time searching Taylor. I checked out that big abandoned building in the middle of the coal field.. that's about it. So if you're looking at Walmart, are those openings on the left or right side of the building?
@@AmazingPennsylvania Easiest way to put it is, start from the Price Chopper parking lot. At the light there, turn right and once you get around that first little curve that's the hill you have to climb to get to the openings at the top. The cliff side there has at least 3-4 caves/holes in it. Before everything grew up over there it looked like an old road almost went up to meet the cliff. By the way, I don't know if it's still there anywhere but at the old colliery site there used to be a water channel/culvert where you could hear water running but you never saw the water. It was relatively close to the breaker. Not to mention next to the only remaining building there was a deep shaft (barely) covered by a steel plate years ago.
@@AmazingPennsylvania You may want to check these caves I mentioned out sooner than later as they're clearing the hillside of trees and brush now. A few of the openings have very straight edges at the sides, which makes me think that they're not all natural openings.
Dude sketch universe for sure with those monster collapses and icicles from hell🤣 really nice tribute to the men that lost their lives in that disaster. Next weeks looks like slop city for sure maybe chest waders would have been a better idea🤣
@@chemistryofquestionablequa6252 You're probably right when you have almost half the country working for the enemy, drooling at the thought of a civil war, doing anything they can to weaken the US, even attacking their own Capitol. They think they'll be fighting 'libs' and will be shocked when all of our real enemies move in.
That would make a nice fallout shelter but even if you have a good wind blowing, could you build a fire, even a small one? I'm thinking it might set the coal in the mine on fire.
If you make a pit and are careful it would work. The vein wasn't on the rib until deeper. Also the air would pull the smoke deeper into the mine as fresh air comes through the portal.
That "eye" look at the end always makes me chuckle! On the other end of the scale: Those that slap the lens with their hand to end the video pisses me off. Many times I unsub that channel. Human nature I would guess.
nice explore... nice tribute to the fallen
Takes me back. I was last in there Spring 2004 when I first started going into mines. My friend Robbie came, he died back in 2017. RIP Robbie.
I'm always happy to see a new video posted. Much respect to the fallen. Stay safe.
Sketch Universe -- 2 minutes later -- "Ya, I'll do it....why not" 🤣🤣
Wow RIP! Thanks for sharing.
I was twitching just watching you do that crawl! Just as you said you would live in it if you had too, I was thinking the same.
Thanks for the bit of history at the end and showing the memorial to the lost miners.
I'm going to do a bit of my own research to learn more.

If you can smell what the rock is cooking 😆😆😆 excellent video 👍👍👍 can't wait for the next one GO TEXAS 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 💪💪💪
Great finding, guys. Cave even looks comfy for a post-apocaliptic hideout.
It's an Anthracite Coal Mine.
The two cast iron pieces appears to be friction bearing housing for mine carts.
Nic find.
Awesome video as always.
Could. Be a good bunker fun place
Welcome to the Sketchyverse. Lol 😂
Q: When Phil needs bug removal, who does he contact?
A: pestacrawl, of course!

I have an old mine in south western pa, partially collapsed if you're interested in exploring it. Do you have a way to private message?
Nice memoral
Hey, I got a name for that icicle: "Vlad" 😅 get it? Anyways, thanks for the explore; and showing the memorial site... that's pretty tragic. 😦
The impaler. That may fall flat with many people, not many know history. Lol.
@@AnthraciteHorrorStories Well I'm glad you got it. 😁👍

Truth.
I find it hilariously ironic that a guy named Phil goes into holes in the ground.
😂😂😂😂
Id rather eat a bat than a spider..Yuck.

Apparently bats are considered a delicacy in some countries 😬
