I just feel that the second Highnote is not really necessary and not musically enjoyable. No bridge, very sudden. Kind of a showoff but not service for the music itself.
I wholeheartedly agree that this song is so quintessential SM! I mean, it should be obvious by now since they /are/ supposed to be the embodiment of everything SM, but it's still impressive how SM has its own signature musical stylings to look out for, yet constantly raise their own bar with every release.

Falling PetalsTY ~ I wouldn't call "100" trash myself, as that kind of defeats the purpose of critiquing the song fairly, but I'd at least hope the UA-camr you're referring to has reasons for calling it to that level of dislike. Sad, they can't at least appreciate the talent of the boys.

Seems like music intellectuals appreciates sm's music yet failed to appreciate by general public. Sm's music production isn't that generic structure, they like to experiment.

Baekhyun is still taking vocal lessons. As Baekhyun stans so proud that he improved himself so much. He hit those notes clearly even during live perfomances.
His live performance in The Stage and GMA is absolutely amazing. The only way I can tell he is singing live is at the end high note he has to “slide” on to it a little bit (not a bad thing) because every other line is absolutely perfect. SM truly fed their vocalists CDs.
@@hovichi their vocal training methods are best. I was talking about Baekhyun live stages in common. He can run marathon on stage(especially during EXO concerts), and still sing like studio version. Excited for their another releases. Thank you 💞

Taemin in the bridge followed by Baek, Mark at the start and the part where they all sing the "Do you want what I got" part are my fave parts of the song.
If this is a good example of the SM house sound then I am a fan of it. I also enjoy the way the song just propels you forward and is just so energetic and “pumped”. Some combination of the percussion, the speed and the bass line help make the song the musical equivalent of an espresso shot for me. Thanks for the reaction!
This year it seems like SM is really going for it... I mean there's still the whole Taemin album happening and then kai is having a solo, Mark's probable solo? Idk but Mark's upto something and then they end the year with a 127 japanese comeback. This is basically the brighter side of 2020.

Taemin beautiful vocal hit me hard.
I genuinely am blown away by how SM manages to give every group their signature sound and STILL is able to give SuperM an "SM Salad" sound and visual. Gosh, what with all the anti-superm sentiments in the SME fandoms because of how many fans feel like their group and the rest of the members are being sidelined in favour of SuperM by the company, it is near impossible to appreciate the art and the artists on a public platform so you have ~no idea~ how grateful I am to you guys for dissecting and analysing SuperM songs for me *^*
This is a classic SM tbh. Reminds me so much to TXVQ early songs (Rising Sun and O in particular).

I honestly think that this is very much an early 2010s SM song (the overall vibe). I see it as a mash up of SHINees everybody, SuJu's Spy and Acha, and that super dubstep project group whose name and song I cannot remember

I really love this song and I think the dance king did a great job by writing these simple but beautiful lyrics. And I love the contrast between the sad lyrics and the lighter music.

i was so happy when you talked about the major parts in the bridge and the one not-quite interval with the spoken and then the tritone/5th (A4) above it and also how Baekhyun’s high note is even higher than jopping because those were the parts i fangirled over during my first listen but my friends don’t understand anything i’m talking about
also the part with the vocal rhythm and beats lining up that part is so cool to me especially because it lines up with the choreography

I almost forgotten that it's a pre-release, as Sean pointed out, it's very solid. 100 is so fast paced, the rhythm makes me keep moving forward. leaving out room and excitement for the next 2 releases! And i couldn't even tell Baekhyun went half step up, we went so hard on the high notes!

If you haven't heard the news, NCT 127 announced their 2nd japanese mini album called "LOVEHOLIC" to be released on December 23. The main theme will be love, displayed in various forms of love songs in a variety of genres that can only be done by NCT 127 in the expression of 127 style. It will be their first attempt to sing a love story with a lead song. Pre-order is already available.

i like the wayy you mentioned how this song has a mixed of everything..because true enough, this group we have a mix of shinee, exo, nct/wayv...and it does makes sense to have a bit of everything(SM's element) in this song and this group.

Tiger Inside is currently the highest, followed by 100, then Jopping, then El Dorado.

What I like about SMP is the grungy/rough edge of both the music and performance. TVXQ’s Rising Sun and O.Jung.Ban.Hap comes to mind. With regards to SuperM though, their title track/pre-releases are still undeniably SMP but feels more polished. I do prefer Jopping over 100, at times this track can sound glitchy and not as seamless. Definitely will have to give a few more listens though. SMP songs are not the easiest to get into especially if you’re targeting a new audience ie what SuperM is created for.

It feels like many superm songs are structured in a way where taemin (sometimes) starts the song with one line and then doesnt appear until the 2nd pre-chorus or even the bridge but then he got a longer line for himself and adlibs towards the end which then even make him catch up to baekhyun in line distribution, I wonder why they always go that route

i'm a hoe for the sment sound so i barely noticed the hallmarks passing by XD though i still feel they somehow managed to create a fresh sound this time, the final whole product doesnt sound like any other of their artists to me (sorry jopping but u know what u are), i was pleasantly surprised that way and overall i had 5 or less complaints so a win overall (sorry jopping but i cant listen to you without going off on a rant about what u couldve been).
that hyper-extended bridge/build was so masterful i'm compelled to this one time forgive randomly placed baekhyun supersonic note but i hope it doesnt become a habit (it being the randomness, not the pitch)
