Yes... I may have pronounced 'MagFlött' wrong in this one... but hopefully you can look past that 😉Regardless - are you going to get yourself an iPad stand and if so, what's your main use?
As a Swede I am of course pronouncing "MagFlött" in Swedish because they insisted on an umlaut, and it kinda-sorta sounds like they named their product "belly fat".
The Benks infinity stand will be my grab first throughout your phenomenally informative video!! 😊 Great job and genuinely to the points that matter for each product. I will be utilizing mine for my new graphic design small business and a new to iPad hopeful digital artist! :P I’m super STOKED to learn more about Procreate.
I have a MagFlott stand and it’s great. I found out it’s magnets easily hold my iPad Pro firmly with its ESR Magnetic Case still on which is super convenient. I also discovered that not completing the order and leaving it in the website basket overnight prompted them to email me a 20% discount code which made its price much more palatable.
This is so helpful! I wasn't aware of these stand options, and didn't know I "needed" one, but now I kind of think I do ;) Great info and I appreciate your sharing your experience with these stands.
Nice review! Now I know what kind of stand I need! Thanks to your pros/cons comparisons. Will buy one after I replace an old ipad with a newer one. Love your channel! Waiting for the new clips. Thank you for your work, Mark!
bought the MagFlott at kick started, took about 4 months to get, it was worth the wait. As Mark said, you did not know you needed it until you are using it. It brings new uses to your iPad. ........
I found a stand with 3 elbow joins (if that’s what you call them) It is awesome. I had to stick a magnetic ring on my iPad cover but that’s fine. No more sore neck from looking down too often. It’s about a foot high and I can angle my iPad at 90 degrees. I payed 40 bucks at Kmart for it.
I rely on my Logitech Folio Touch to such great degree that it’s never off the iPad Pro, so as appealing as a stand is I don’t think I would end up using it. Instead, I just use the kickstand and then have a fully functional laptop beside my Mac even when using the iPad as a display extension. Thanks for the great review though, they sure look like terrific products!
@@MarkEllisReviews no problem at all. always happy to support my fellow content creators. I am looking forward to improving on my own current video format I have uploaded and, in the future, trying to create content as good as yours in the long term.
I purchased the MagFit magnetic doc - many other reviewers did not attest to the weak magnets. I can confirm that the magnets are fine: the iPad pro jus needs to be aligned with the stand properly which you did not do in this video. The bottom of the ipad is flush with the stand. It‘s a nice piece, but the hinges are a bit too stiff and can‘t be adjusted.
Thanks for the review. I did pick up on tidbits that proved useful and necessary. the existence of the curved USB c power cable that MagFlott includes. I already had a satisfactory magnetic stand for my iPad Pro 11". But with a standard power cord. That started me on a quest - I found one on Amazon, but more so, I had the same issue of the cable sticking out on my old iPad 10.2 that I use in my office. That needed a lightning connector - indeed I found on also on Amazon. Love the concept of these on iPads mounted on stands - helps with cable management. They can also be used with iPhones. Thanks for the tipoff that these existed. If I did not have a good magnetic stand already, I know what I would invest in. Thanks again.
Great reviews. The one thing I’m still holding out for is the hope that someone will make a stand with smart connector pins so the iPad can be charged while leaving the USB/Thunderbolt port free…
I agree. Few generations ago, Logitech released the Logi Base charging stand that used the old smart connector. It was so convenient. Had wished someone would release something similar with the current smart connector.
Totally agree! CharGenPro is so close, but you still need the cable sticking out the side. If they had a version that had the Smart Connector pins that would charge the iPad it would be perfect. Ironically the closest thing to what I want right now is still the Magic Keyboard... I can leave a right angle cable attached to the keyboard and then when I dock the iPad it charges.
The pre-prod version of the Benks stand looks so much better than the production version. Folding flat would be useful for portability but I liked the old Cinema Display-esque styling.
Thanks for the review of the stands. I ordered the Benks iPad Mini stand. Sadly the model I received was only single-hinged not double-hinged as you mentioned in your video (5:56). Do you know if Benks decided not to go with a double-hinge on the iPad Mini stand? I’ve reached out to their customer support, unfortunately, they’ve not been helpful.
I’m having the exact same experience. I ordered the one pictured on their website (double hinged) and they sent an earlier version. Customer service’s reply email was not helpful. I bought it specifically for that reason. It’s a fine stand, but I think if they don’t fix it, I’m gonna look at the Magfit stand on Amazon. Do you know anything about that one? Just wanted you to know since I went with Benks off of your recommendation.
@@SlickPack2010 Thanks for sharing your experience. I saw that their site was updated with the double-hinged iPad Mini model; however, for your order they sent you the singled-hinged version? Yikes! I'm planning on ordering the double-hinged now that it's out... let's see what shows up. 😂🤷🏻♂🤞

The Benks link produces a 404 error and after a lot of searching on the Benks site I could not find the Infinity Stand for iPad mini. Also, their images of the iPad mounts have a tube/bar vice flat mount structure, is the flat structure you showed in your video also pre-production? This looks like a great tool for my desktop!
Nice review, good choice of options; just about to get busy ordering the MagFlott stand but wait! US website only? I’m thinking long delay & customs charges? Any suggestions on sourcing these for us poor UK customers?
@@MarkEllisReviews Thanks. I have an older imac and a 12.9 ipad pro, which both get used for work. Thanks for the review. I’m hoping you or one of your viewers can help with an ipad issue. I have an iPad Pro 2, been great, but suddenly last week it stopped charging from wall chargers. It does connect and charge from my pic and MacBook. So I don’t think it’s the type c connector but something else but I have no idea. Anyone have thoughts? Question: I don’t know if my iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen model 1671 has a bad lightning cable pug or battery so I want to use the smart connection to charge it and see if it charges. BUT the only one that made a charger for the Smart Connector was Logitech which is no longer available. It there something out there that will charge my iPad via Smart Connector?
Weird Question: I have a Pitaka Mag EZ II CASE but not the stand. Would any of these still work with the magnets in my Pitaka case? (Besides the Pitaka stand) I’d like to try the Benks adjustable stand but am unsure if it’ll work with my iPad.
As these are magnetic, is there any reason why they can't be used with other tablets of similar size? (Thinking in particular about the Benks for a Samsung T7+ which is 12.4 inch)
Is the Benks Infinity stand stiff enough (you said it might be too stiff, but this might be why...) to use it as a writing stand for the iPad. I use my iPad with my Apple Pencil a lot, and I'd love a stand that also does the job of holding my iPad comfortably enough to write on it, not flat on the desk.
Hey! As always great video, I always look forward to your uploads! Do you know of cases that can attach to a 10.2 inch non magnetic iPad that means you can attach to magnetic stands? Or is it just the one you mention in the vid?

The best thing about these stands and magic keyboards and controllers is versatility for example I don’t need a computer because I can just do work with my magic keyboard on my iPad I don’t need a console because I can just play fort nite and 2k on my Xbox gaming subscription
Another great video. After watching the WWDC22 keynote yesterday and seeing that extended desktop support is coming to iPadOS 16 the argument for having one of these is even more compelling. In your experience was it quite easy to get hold of the MagFlött stand, considering that shipping is from the US? (I am also based in the UK)
I’m annoyed that no one seems to have the stand that I really want. I want one with a suction cup base that can stick to tile or some other surface so that there’s no chance of the stand falling over and an articulating arm so that I can move and position the iPad at will. These accessories are just designed to be used in a desktop scenario whereas I want something that’s for other areas at home or in the car. The first manufacturer to make something like this will get my money.
Liked your review as always but I have always had a case for my iPads, as do most people so not sure any of these would work. Also, I feel we would be paying extra just for magnetism which is not a dealbreaker for most people. I just feel these products are trying to solve a problem that doesn’t really exist.
Most people use cases with their iPads because if it drops without a case, it breaks. People want to protect their investment. Magnetic stands won’t work with cases.
Really no point to spend so much money to buy these magnetic iPad stands, a simple bigger size aluminum phone stand that costs only $6 - 8 which I am using is even better, can easily do landscape or portrait mode by lifting it up, adjust the viewing angles, flip the stand and easily stored for travel even in a coat pocket.
