Yes... I may have pronounced 'MagFlött' wrong in this one... but hopefully you can look past that 😉Regardless - are you going to get yourself an iPad stand and if so, what's your main use?
As a Swede I am of course pronouncing "MagFlött" in Swedish because they insisted on an umlaut, and it kinda-sorta sounds like they named their product "belly fat".
Its Mag "Float"

The Benks infinity stand will be my grab first throughout your phenomenally informative video!! 😊 Great job and genuinely to the points that matter for each product. I will be utilizing mine for my new graphic design small business and a new to iPad hopeful digital artist! :P I’m super STOKED to learn more about Procreate.
I have a MagFlott stand and it’s great. I found out it’s magnets easily hold my iPad Pro firmly with its ESR Magnetic Case still on which is super convenient.
I also discovered that not completing the order and leaving it in the website basket overnight prompted them to email me a 20% discount code which made its price much more palatable.
This is so helpful! I wasn't aware of these stand options, and didn't know I "needed" one, but now I kind of think I do ;) Great info and I appreciate your sharing your experience with these stands.
No hassles :)
Nice review! Now I know what kind of stand I need! Thanks to your pros/cons comparisons. Will buy one after I replace an old ipad with a newer one. Love your channel! Waiting for the new clips. Thank you for your work, Mark!
No problem - glad you're enjoying the channel!
As an artist.. I've been looking from a stand that will be good to use like a display tablet. I didn't know of these stands until now. Thank you!
No problem!
I just ordered the Zelal magnetic VESA mount for my setup. Will use on a basic pole mount to keep the desk clean.
Thanks for the review. I did pick up on tidbits that proved useful and necessary. the existence of the curved USB c power cable that MagFlott includes. I already had a satisfactory magnetic stand for my iPad Pro 11". But with a standard power cord. That started me on a quest - I found one on Amazon, but more so, I had the same issue of the cable sticking out on my old iPad 10.2 that I use in my office. That needed a lightning connector - indeed I found on also on Amazon. Love the concept of these on iPads mounted on stands - helps with cable management. They can also be used with iPhones. Thanks for the tipoff that these existed. If I did not have a good magnetic stand already, I know what I would invest in. Thanks again.
Hey! As always great video, I always look forward to your uploads! Do you know of cases that can attach to a 10.2 inch non magnetic iPad that means you can attach to magnetic stands? Or is it just the one you mention in the vid?
Love that Benks stand for my mini 6. i'll be getting one, thanks Mark
No probs!
Impeccable appearance, convenient foldable stand, won my heart🥰
I try my best.
I had no idea magnets were built into my new iPad Air 5! Thanks for the useful info. and reviews.
Nice review…
Clean and factual.
I love the magflott! That stand is so Pro Display XDR 😁😘
Haha - cheers!
Good review, Mark. Thanks for this.
No, thank you :)
Thanks for the review.
I’m hoping you or one of your viewers can help with an ipad issue. I have an iPad Pro 2, been great, but suddenly last week it stopped charging from wall chargers. It does connect and charge from my pic and MacBook. So I don’t think it’s the type c connector but something else but I have no idea. Anyone have thoughts? Tried multiple cables and wall chargers also.
Love me some Magflott!! Great video Mark!
Cheers, Alex. It's a great bit of kit 👍
Very good video ❤ btw I also want to buy this stand but idk does it work and stick to iPad well if the iPad has a case on it?
The pre-prod version of the Benks stand looks so much better than the production version. Folding flat would be useful for portability but I liked the old Cinema Display-esque styling.
Thank you for your wonderful sharing of the working methods of the iPad. I am very curious as I usually use the horizontal screen for handwriting. I would like to ask if there is a use situation of using the straight screen. Btw, How do you use universal controls?
Another great video. After watching the WWDC22 keynote yesterday and seeing that extended desktop support is coming to iPadOS 16 the argument for having one of these is even more compelling. In your experience was it quite easy to get hold of the MagFlött stand, considering that shipping is from the US? (I am also based in the UK)
Great video. Thank you
I rely on my Logitech Folio Touch to such great degree that it’s never off the iPad Pro, so as appealing as a stand is I don’t think I would end up using it. Instead, I just use the kickstand and then have a fully functional laptop beside my Mac even when using the iPad as a display extension. Thanks for the great review though, they sure look like terrific products!
Give us a video about how do you use your iPad Air 5 in regular use ( anything but video editing)
Excellent review. Can you review the MagEZ Cases made by Pitaka. Pitaka makes several quality products for the Apple lineup.
Weird Question: I have a Pitaka Mag EZ II CASE but not the stand. Would any of these still work with the magnets in my Pitaka case? (Besides the Pitaka stand)
I’d like to try the Benks adjustable stand but am unsure if it’ll work with my iPad.
Will the Magflott hold up to drawing with the Apple pencil, or will the screen flop due to pressure on the screen?
That stand is essential...
Pikata seem to supply a case and stand with built in charging - looks good
Can i use a cover with this stand? If so, which one do you recommend?
Can you use magnetic cases along with these iPad?
Didn’t even know I needed a stand until I saw this video! 😄 Just bought the Benks one. Looks decent for the price.
Enjoy!
Mark what is the brand of your monitor raiser? I am looking for something compact like that one.
splendid video Mark Ellis Reviews. I killed the thumbs up on your video. Keep up the brilliant work.
Love this - thank you!
@@MarkEllisReviews no problem at all. always happy to support my fellow content creators. I am looking forward to improving on my own current video format I have uploaded and, in the future, trying to create content as good as yours in the long term.
What options are available for the new iPad 10th generation with 10.9" screen?
What is in the lightning port on your mini?
Have u tried the elago stand with matching case?
As these are magnetic, is there any reason why they can't be used with other tablets of similar size? (Thinking in particular about the Benks for a Samsung T7+ which is 12.4 inch)
MagFit does have an iPad Mini version now. I just picked one up myself. It is very similar to that Banks one you talked about.
Great news!
Awesome!
So with these stand , can you use a regular case? If your iPad already has the magnets in the back
Is the Benks Infinity stand stiff enough (you said it might be too stiff, but this might be why...) to use it as a writing stand for the iPad. I use my iPad with my Apple Pencil a lot, and I'd love a stand that also does the job of holding my iPad comfortably enough to write on it, not flat on the desk.
I purchased the MagFit magnetic doc - many other reviewers did not attest to the weak magnets. I can confirm that the magnets are fine: the iPad pro jus needs to be aligned with the stand properly which you did not do in this video. The bottom of the ipad is flush with the stand. It‘s a nice piece, but the hinges are a bit too stiff and can‘t be adjusted.
Do any of these stands work if you have a folio case on your iPad?
Which best for gaming?
Can use any of these stands for android, i.e Samsung tab 6 for example?
I purchased the Magfit products, easy to use, good quality
Great to hear!
Question: I don’t know if my iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen model 1671 has a bad lightning cable pug or battery so I want to use the smart connection to charge it and see if it charges. BUT the only one that made a charger for the Smart Connector was Logitech which is no longer available. It there something out there that will charge my iPad via Smart Connector?
Would this product hold a 15.6" portable monitor? that arzopa?
Hi, if I use iPad case will it stick to the stand? I use Logitech combo keyboard and case. Thank you in advance.
Do you use Apple Music and Spotify? Or are transitioning to one of them? :) just curiosity, I’m thinking to switch to Apple Music, but afraid to lose all the new music discovery (that is great at Spotify)
It looks like the magflott is the tallest one for an 11inch device?
Does the magnet still work if your iPad has a case?
What keyboard is that in this video with the blue and orange buttons
bought the MagFlott at kick started, took about 4 months to get, it was worth the wait. As Mark said, you did not know you needed it until you are using it. It brings new uses to your iPad. ........
Doesn't it just!
Hey Mark, love your content! I noticed on your Mini 6 there was a little nub in the USB-C port. Can I ask what that’s for?
Check out these guys: voltacharger.com
@@MarkEllisReviews Awesome, thank you!!
I wish someone made a stand that had pass through wireless charging for the iPad. Apple has it with the magic keyboard so clearly it’s possible!
Great reviews, Mark! I’m sad I missed out on the Benks stand for iPad mini 6 it’s sold out already😢
Ah, that's a shame! I'm sure it'll come back in stock soon!
Is there a way to connect an ipad to a windows pc like u did with the mac?
Thankyou for the video! What I want to know is, can any of these stands also tilt all the way forward so that the ipad is parallel with the diagonal stand? (Ipad pro 12.9 5th gen). Basically selfie camera angle, camera looking slightly down at you?
Also, can you use this with an ipad case (one that's also magnetic that can be used with the magic keyboard)? Thankyou
As far as I know, only Magfit can do it
because it is the only one with two spindles
Wait, how you can turn you iPad in a second monitor? What app you use?
I wanna try setting up an iPad for my nightstand display
Do these work with a regular iPad 9th Generation?
why do none of these leverage the connection pins on the back which allow passthrough charging in the apple keyboard case?
It makes me LOLed when I heard "listen carefully Apple"
Btw thanks for introducing the iPad stand. It was a good referrence
what brand of cable is that, time 4:02 ?
All of those lack such an obvious feature (like the one I have does) - there is no 90 degree lock to stop them from being crooked. Every-time i attach my iPad I have to level it, since the baseplate moved on detachment. How has no one thought of that...
I purchased a stand for my daughter over Christmas, she uses a magic keyboard and trackpad as her go to computer.
Love this!
Nice review, good choice of options; just about to get busy ordering the MagFlott stand but wait! US website only? I’m thinking long delay & customs charges? Any suggestions on sourcing these for us poor UK customers?
Contact them ;) They're super nice people.
@@MarkEllisReviews Thanks. I have an older imac and a 12.9 ipad pro, which both get used for work. Universal control has massively improved my life but I have a mad system for balancing my ipad case on an old Lacie hard drive, just to get it on a reasonable level. One of these stands will improve life enormously. 😎
For anyone in the UK interested: The shipping cost adds about $40, plus any duty due. Overall cost nearer $200.
Thanks for the review of the stands. I ordered the Benks iPad Mini stand. Sadly the model I received was only single-hinged not double-hinged as you mentioned in your video (5:56).
Do you know if Benks decided not to go with a double-hinge on the iPad Mini stand? I’ve reached out to their customer support, unfortunately, they’ve not been helpful.
I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that one! I'd keep on at them if I were you - you should get a response. I'll take a look into it.
@@MarkEllisReviews I'll continue to follow up with Benks customer support and look forward to hearing what you might find out. Many thanks Mark! 🙏
I’m having the exact same experience. I ordered the one pictured on their website (double hinged) and they sent an earlier version. Customer service’s reply email was not helpful. I bought it specifically for that reason. It’s a fine stand, but I think if they don’t fix it, I’m gonna look at the Magfit stand on Amazon. Do you know anything about that one? Just wanted you to know since I went with Benks off of your recommendation.
@@SlickPack2010 Thanks for sharing your experience. I saw that their site was updated with the double-hinged iPad Mini model; however, for your order they sent you the singled-hinged version? Yikes! I'm planning on ordering the double-hinged now that it's out... let's see what shows up. 😂🤷🏻♂🤞
@@DutchCanJam Good Luck. Either way, big fan of the channel. Thanks for your perspective. It really does help to have someone who’s more interested in end-user experience rather than specs and numbers.
Great review but can I ask why you priced everything in USD? It’s really difficult to find a decent review for UK consumers which is why I came to your channel but the magflött for example is nearly £100 extra for shipping to UK. What would you recommend for the UK market? Thanks
Thanks for the kind words. The vast majority of my audience is US based. I’d recommend looking at Benks 👍
@@MarkEllisReviews awesome thank you and appreciate the explanation, makes sense 😌
Mark, what’s the magnetic thing hanging out of one of your iPads?
Check out these guys: voltacharger.com
I wish they'd be hight adjustable
My son needs an iPad to help him speak that would be a pretty cool use for them. If you don’t need one, I’d happily take it off your hands.
Can you use these while using a case on the iPad
Would depend on the case, I guess. Probably not - you want those magnets nice and close.
Pitaka also makes a great stand case combo. Plus the pitaka case can be use with the magic keyboard.
Worth taking a look.
Great reviews. The one thing I’m still holding out for is the hope that someone will make a stand with smart connector pins so the iPad can be charged while leaving the USB/Thunderbolt port free…
Absolutely this! It’s perplexing how it’s been so long and there’s still no third party accessorise that use the smart connector for charging
That's a great shout. I wonder if it's a licensing thing, to be honest.
I agree. Few generations ago, Logitech released the Logi Base charging stand that used the old smart connector. It was so convenient. Had wished someone would release something similar with the current smart connector.
That already exists.
Totally agree! CharGenPro is so close, but you still need the cable sticking out the side. If they had a version that had the Smart Connector pins that would charge the iPad it would be perfect.
Ironically the closest thing to what I want right now is still the Magic Keyboard... I can leave a right angle cable attached to the keyboard and then when I dock the iPad it charges.
I have an AirPods max stand by benks and it is faultless, the quality is similar to what I would expect from an apple product, so I will be purchasing an iPad stand from them with confidence. cheers Mark and keep well.
Thanks, David.
Great reviews, although i hate when they put their branding right on the front of the stand 🤦🏻♂️
So I tuned in for the iPad stands, but the true star of this show is your Isla Nubar hoody. Where can I get that?!??
Liked your review as always but I have always had a case for my iPads, as do most people so not sure any of these would work.
Also, I feel we would be paying extra just for magnetism which is not a dealbreaker for most people.
I just feel these products are trying to solve a problem that doesn’t really exist.
They’re not for everyone, mate, and neither are cases. That’s why it’s lovely to have choice for all of the different preferences out there 😉
I wish they made these for Samsung Tabs. The choices we get for keyboards, cases, and stands are abysmal.
I built a VESA compatible stand so I could put my iPad on an arm and move it wherever i want.
"Pip"? Who uses THAT word? I am sold on CharJenPro MagFlött. Amazing quality.
Me, clearly!
Kensington do a Rolls Royce stand (including price) for iPads.
Benks iPad Mini 6 stand is sold out... too sad.
Boo! I'm sure it'll come back in stock soon.
So many great products, I can't stand it, I'm spoilt for choice!
You have enough ipad,I don't have any but I need 1 🌝
I’m annoyed that no one seems to have the stand that I really want. I want one with a suction cup base that can stick to tile or some other surface so that there’s no chance of the stand falling over and an articulating arm so that I can move and position the iPad at will. These accessories are just designed to be used in a desktop scenario whereas I want something that’s for other areas at home or in the car. The first manufacturer to make something like this will get my money.
Gap in the market? Fill it ;)
@@MarkEllisReviews I don’t want to. I just want to buy a decent product. They do them for iPhones. Why not iPads?
@@jim_herd Well, that attitude didn't put a man on the moon, did it? ;)
@@MarkEllisReviews You think we went to the moon?
Ang mahal naman kasi ng stand ipad sa pinas, tapos luma pa ang ipad ko 10.5 version pa diba di na nga pwde ma update... mabuhay philippines.
They’re extremely expensive, I have an IPad stand that cost $3.25 and does everything that I need
Awesome!
Most people use cases with their iPads because if it drops without a case, it breaks. People want to protect their investment. Magnetic stands won’t work with cases.
You can put it back in a case or folio when you’re done, Jim.
Privileged?
Eh?
every I pad I have ever own has been confiscated by one of my kids . I gave up my I phone 13 pro max is my iPad
Too low for comfortable viewing
Really no point to spend so much money to buy these magnetic iPad stands, a simple bigger size aluminum phone stand that costs only $6 - 8 which I am using is even better, can easily do landscape or portrait mode by lifting it up, adjust the viewing angles, flip the stand and easily stored for travel even in a coat pocket.
The best? I laugh at your selection.
I’d recommend checking out some stand up, mate. This shouldn’t be funny - genuinely.
2:07 Clean your desk.
Er… no!
It’s cleaner than mine! 😁

@@MobileDecaySorry, I’m confused. At what point during the video did I continually tell my audience that I’m rich? Can you provide a time stamp, please?

First time I saw the iPad 10th gen, I knew that I was going to get it. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA Having done that, I have no regrets whatsoever. The battery life is superb, the landscape camera is a winner for me, the shape is suitable for my carrying case. As part of my purchase, I threw in a case from ESR, and a Logitech Crayon to compliment my purchase. So far so good on my iPad. The Logitech Crayon works perfectly with it as well.
