I love seeing these and all the different opinions. It’s like watching the same program but you get to see different cuts from different directors and I have a blast with it. All 4 of you did really well with these.
Just found your channel. Great video, look forward to seeing more.
2:00 Woah, man that is actually very cool to hear. I didn't know you were a man of faith! Brother, that is TOTALLY fine that you're not too into the whole demon stuff genre. Same here! For me, The Shining is THE BEST of these films.
Love your videos man, keep it up!
Thanks.
Great list Bryan! Who would have tought Dr Sleep would make such an impact. Absolutely fell in love with Rebecca Ferguson, Dune just made that feeling even stronger. By the way the soundtrack for Poltergeist is from Jerry Goldsmith. Keep em coming!
I agree with a few of yours Bryan!! We have the same top two but reversed. And our bottoms are similar but in different places. Cool stuff!! As always love your content

Great ranking, Bryan. Actually agree with u on a lot of them. Not often i can say that 🤣 Conjuring 3 and Insidious should have been higher tho. Conjuring, Conjuring 2, Shining and Insidious top 4 for me. Easily.
Great video like always definitely agree with your number 1 and 2. It took me a couple days to get to because of work but you are the first video I watched and usually are.
Cheers Dan!
Great ranking, awesome video. I hate most of the films on this 31 on 31, minus the classics. But enjoy watching you guys. Keep up the great work ✌
Right there with you man! This wasn't a pleasant experience for me for the most part.
thank you for the ranking!
thank you for watching
Great channel I just subbed !
Haven't seen about 6 of them but I'd definitely say Poltergeist III and Exorcist II were the worst! Best? It would be between The Shining and The Conjuring, with The Omen and The Exorcist not too far behind. Looking forward to this! 👻
Great video Bryan. Keep being awesome
@@tomcucumber9820 didn’t know you could comment from jail. How’s that medical supplies treating ya? Better than that crap from Walmart hopefully.
@@tomcucumber9820 lol that’s not even who I was referring to
@@tomcucumber9820 get a job 🤣. I could say the same to you. Then again it’s probably hard when you’re a thief and you’ve got 10 DWI’s on your record. See you around Stetser

Feel like there something missing…like an entire film from the Exorcist franchise. ;) Otherwise, as usual, pretty on par as usual with our tastes though I definitely have more love for James. Nice job every year with your effort on the time and editing.
I can go watch The Ninth Gate now that that's all over and done with 😉
Great ranking and question Bryan what version did you watch for poltergeist remake or just which one do you prefer the theatrical cut or the extended cut ?

Good ranking
I know Rosemary’s Baby isn’t a franchise but I’d be curious to see where most would rank it alongside these films since it falls comfortably in the genre. Top 3 for me after the Exorcist and The Shining.
Isn't it incredibly hard to find the 1970's sequel to _Rosemary's Baby_ / especially if it's a made-for-TV movie.
Can’t wait
Great list bryan you're awesome
Thanks!
Congrats! This is my favourite 31 list this year. Nice explanation and thoughts, thank you for sharing!
Although I disagree with a view positions: exorcist 3 is just wonderfull ;-), would be my number one. And I think shining is a bit overrated. A great movie, but with a dumb ending - why would the hotel let Danny escape and Jack die? The book ending makes much more sense. Don't like frozen Jack - first time I saw that I bursted out in laughter. So especially the ending holds it back a little bit for me. Would still be my number three.
Greetings from Austria!
Cheers pal. I actually watched Exorcist 3 last after a two day binge of some of the worst movies on this list so, it may be that, by that point I was being overly critical because I was just pissed off.
As for The Shining, the ending makes perfect sense really depending on how you read the film. The hotel doesn't give a toss about killing Danny really. It's ultimate goal is to take Jack's soul and the only reason it is able to is because Jack was already teetering on the dark side to begin with. You see, it's not a story about an innocent man being corrupted by the darkness, it's about a man already filled with darkness being too weak willed not to jump into the abyss. Danny being allowed to survive is irrelevant. The hotel wanted Jack and that's what it got, hence the photograph at the end of the film. Just my thoughts anyway.
@@BryanLomax Sounds plausible. Maybe I'm a little bit biased. As Stephen King Fan I tend top compare the novel with the movie. And there are a lot of things missing that I really liked about the book. And Jack's sacrifice at the end ist heartbreaking.
This movie is without a doubt a masterpiece, although never my favourite. Deserves more love from SK.
Dominion above part 3, didn't see that coming. This is the beauty of opinion.
Great video again mate I always enjoy ur videos even if I don’t always agree with them, everyone has there own opinions.👍
Thanks 👍
I feel you about Blair witch remake when she was climbing underground I remember watching as above so below and the where the guy was climbing through the bones terrified me and that movie isnt all that good too me but that one scene got me especially because the acting was good about him freaking out and hyperventilating as well
Certain things man! They either get you or they don't! And someone crawling through a tiny tunnel under ground with something coming after them? That gets me!
Great list
Thanks!
Great to finaly see the exorcist in a 31 on 31. Its often praised as the best horror film ever made. I don't enjoy each franchise enough to give a complete ranking, but my top 5 would be
4) The Shinning (3/4)
3) The Conjuring (3/4)
2) The Omen (3.5/4)
1) The Exorcist (3.5/4)
Extra note to. I don't care if you share you faith in your videos, in fact I tend to enjoy it when you do.
Thanks man! I just don't want people to think that all I'm trying to do is convert them. But with this year's 31, where my faith really had an impact on the way I looked at things, I couldn't NOT talk about it. But it's always good when people can feel free to express their opinions or agree and disagree without cancelling each another. So, respect to you mate!
This right here is a beautiful conversation. If only the majority of the world could be as understanding and respectful with their differences
@@coreynovak7376 It's weird how people have this notion that if someone doesn't share your exact same outlook then they are Hitler or something.
I think I've seen less than half of these but it's still interesting to watch

Doctor sleep, the exorcist and the conjuring 2 have to be my favorites out of these movies (but I’m more of a slasher guy so there’s lots of these I haven’t seen)
Hey Bryan, this may feel a too personal to say, but I’ve been in an awful place in life recently. Everyday, I’ve just been feeling lonely and depressed. I feel like my life is just crap and I’m not heading in the direction I want to. Sometimes, I just feel like I don’t want to live anymore. Some helpful advice would help. Thanks!
It’s so tragic and freaky the behind the scenes of all the unpleasant events that happened. Some actors died mid way through the films being filmed our shortly after they had been completed our had really bizzare near death incidents. The main little girl died midway through making the third poltergeist movie. The original actor chosen to play Kane character died after poltergeist 2 came out. The eldest of the three kids the older sister from the original who’s not in that much of the total run of the film she died shortly after the original poltergeist was finished. She had probably the most violent death of the actors from the trilogy that died. The actress that played the older sister did not die natural .here ex attacked here and murdered here he strangled her to death.

You put Exorcist: The Beginning above The Shining. Err... speechless! Just speechless!
@@BryanLomax still love The Shining though.
I agree Bryan, demon and ghost stories aren't my kind of horror either, even though The Shining is at least in my top 3 favorite horror films of all time
YES NUMBER 1!!! THE SHINING! THE GREATEST HORROR MOVIE! I loved your ranking so much. You're definitely a guy who sees the brilliance of film and someone who calls out bad movies when they're bad (like the first couple movies on the list) with pure honesty.
Again, it is super awesome to hear that your morals/faith led you to rank some of these dumb movies at the bottom of the barrel. Btw what denomination are you?
I currently go to a Baptist church but I don't really assign myself to any particular denomination. I'm just a follower of Christ and only He has a monopoly on the truth.
@@BryanLomax Full agreement. I am the same. I really wish all followers of Christ had this perspective, and didn't get hung up on all of these theological specifics.
Do you mind sharing your beliefs so we can get more of a standpoint for your ranking?
I'm a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe he is God's son, that he came to this earth and was crucified on the cross, died in our place, then rose again on the third day. I believe that if you accept his sacrifice and profess Him as your Lord and saviour then you are saved and will have eternal life.
My problem with a lot of these films is they use a lot of the "Christian" concepts to build their worlds, even quoting the bible itself at times, but then conveniently leave out the one thing that the bible tells us can defeat the evil that they portray, namely... Jesus Christ.
@@BryanLomax Amen!!! Although I absolutely love paranormal horror movies, I have the same core beliefs you do in Christianity. I would love to see more of evil being fought by believing in Christ. Also, more movies showing the deception of demons portraying loved ones who have died, and combating that.
Exorcist 3 to the top for me by a very wide margin.
It was Jerry Goldsmith, who wrote the music for Poltergeist.
Indeed you are correct! I must have had a brain fart during that one.
It’s a mistake that could happen to anyone. Steven Spielberg uses John Williams often with his movies.
I am a Christian and I totally understand what you mean in this whole video.
I'm such a sucka for Poltergeist it's so good screams early 80's and I adore the cast!
You got #1 right... that's really undisputable. The Shining is easily the best of the bunch...
You put Nicholson in his prime, with Kubrick in his prime, and you got a masterpiece on your hands.... its like watchin a Bryan Lomax review with a bowl of popcorn and kickin back in a rocker... ya bound to have a crackin time with it

I'm sure that franchise will get its day in the sun on one of these 31 on 31 lists sooner or later.
while i have seen maybe only 12 of these the exorcist is easily number 1
its in my top 20 movies of all time!!
Please at least tell me one of those 12 is The Shining.
@@BryanLomax YES OF COURSE!! one of the best movies ever!!
'The Borderlands', in a league of its own 🙏🏻
The exorcist for me is the best horror movie of all time from a Christian faith based perspective and a cinema lover perspective
As a kid, I saw it on a lesser tier than Nightmare on Elm Street but by my 20s, it really became a far scarier film and like you said cinematically brilliant film. The Exorcist is the only movie I’ve seen that can frighten me during broad daylight. It’s also one of the greatest novels I’ve read and I don’t just mean horror genre but all novels I’ve read it ranks close to the very top.
Oh Bryan, Bryan, Bryan this is nothing! Cody hasn’t even pulled the hell raiser card yet
Well you know where he can stick that one don't you!
@@BryanLomax 😂😂😂
Jerry goldsmith did the score to poltergeist not Williams.👍
Yeah, I had a brain fart!
I'm not a huge fan of paranormal horror either I have only about 7 movies on your list.
Yeah, it was quite the slog this year.
These aren't my kinds of horror movies either and I always assumed it was because I was a godless swine. Now you have me thinking they might just be bad most of the time no matter what your religious beliefs are. This is the first 31 for 31 where I actively dislike most of the list... There are 6 or 7 enjoyable/good ones though.
🤣🤣🤣
A horror movie reviewer that's a jesus freak. That's all we need........
Booyah!
I think Jesus is in the nun. Literally the blood of Christ that kills it. Otherwise good video!
I hate you, but James Wan has NOTHING to do with it....

Haha
Hahahaha, love you too man!
What’s a Wiliscredia?
Forced “Representation” is killing movies these days and why they mostly suck. I have nothing against anyone but it’s like a checklist. Gotta have a gay couple, gotta have a trans person, gotta have a mixed couple, gotta have some female empowerment moment. It’s like jeez, can we not focus on making a good movie and not trying to preach to everyone
The only thing forced here is your pathetic rant. Which, as-written, sounds **exactly** like "I have Something against Some people." Hence, why representation is always an issue.
