Wow Gorgeous flowers : ) Beautiful colors : ) Lovely plants : ) Wonderful music : ) Great presentation and video Marlene : ) Full view : ) Lovely melody and sounds : ) Thank you so much for sharing this amazing video : )
Glad you liked it. 😍 I love Piine mulch because the pieces are larger and gives a more natural look. It provides warmth in the winter and keeps weeds away in the summer. Just my preference though.
Wow. I will try to overwinter them in the garden. I always use the fallen leaves from the trees to cover my gardens, but I've never tried cutting my begonias back before. Thanks! BTW, I have several of them potted. I found them as I was weeding my sidewalk-- they were little, tiny sprouts, growing up through the cracks! I just plopped them in dirt and now they're blooming, too. In fact, I just noticed MORE in the cracks and may put them in little pots for the winter. LOL! (Memorize the leaves. Every plant has a leaf unique to itself.)
@marigeobrien That's Great! If they come back from the flowerbeds, you can keep them there. It's safer from the cold. More insulation from the surrounding soil. 😊
Marlene great 👍 tips I've got some begonia out in the border, they are still looking brilliant.. Its now very cold and frosty but nevertheless they are still holding up well, big surprise for me.
You always have some great tips on how to look after our plants my friend.. No, if you could only give me green thumbs I'd be set..LOL..Thanks for the share..👍..fv..Stay Safe🙏.. "Share, Enjoy & Cherish Nature"..💘🐥🐥💘..Happy Filming..💘🐥🐥💘....
I love these !! I had some d that died during the summer of 2021 when I had covid and I was not watering them at all for weeks 😂😂 I bought two more a year and a half ago and they are still going strong
I wished I would of seen this video sooner. My mom gave me a Begonia plant and I did not take it inside on time. It's still recovering LOL thank you for sharing your Begonias are so so pretty. I love your tips as well 👍🌺
Yes. I have seen the Begonias hit by frost. Not a good sight.. Looks like Kimchee... Mush. They are beautiful in video. Like the different colors. Looks like Fall and red looks like Christmas.
Mulch has worked for years for me in average sized pots. I only present from my experiences. I am in zone 8. Not sure which one you're in. Must be cold there. 🧊 ⛸️
Awesome. I'm in Zone 8. Just cut them very low. Cover with mulch and keep them next to the house so they get some protection from drafts but get rain if it's warm enough for that. Then pull back the mulch after danger of first frost in the Spring. Happy Gardening. 😊 🪴
I have sprint white begonias in an in ground garden bed in my front yard surrounding my lollipop crabapple tree and they are lovely! I am in zone 5 though, would I need to dig them up and place in pots and bring inside or do you think cutting them down and covering in mulch may work for them to come back next spring? I fear my winter may be a bit too cold for them to survive even if I mulched them heavily.
Hi Sonya. Zone 5 is really cold. You would have to take some in. They won't make it outside in that cold even with mulch. So bring a few indoors. Trim them back when they are looking healthy and take them out in mid Spring. Happy Gardening. 😍
Hi there. Thanx for answering this question for me. I've never known what to do with my flowers after the season changes so I would just leave them outside and purchase new ones the next year. Btw your begonias look beautiful. If you bring them in would will bugs in the soil come out in your house? That's what I thought would happen. New friend here just joined you.
I am a beginner planter who have wax begonias for about 2 years. I propagate them when they become long and leggy... would you please tell me when you bring them indoor, do you prune them first? If so how much? Like I said I propagate them so I have about 6 pots now and am starting to be overwhelmed thinking about bring them indoor for winter.... btw. I'm in zone 6. Thank you for your video!
They look best as we go into the Fall Season so I bring just 1 or 2 in before the first frost. You can pinch them back a little after they have acclimated to being inside. (About 2 weeks). Do this as often as needed. Then bring them out in the Spring. God luck with your Begonias. They are such beauties.

Glad you liked it. 😍 I love Piine mulch because the pieces are larger and gives a more natural look. It provides warmth in the winter and keeps weeds away in the summer. Just my preference though.

Yes Bruce not a pretty sight after a hard freeze. Luckily we have choices that we can make to protect them. Thanks for watching friend. ☺
Mulching a pot of begonias will not protect them from frost, let alone winter. Take cuttings or bring them inside. Yours look very happy!
Mulch has worked for years for me in average sized pots. I only present from my experiences. I am in zone 8. Not sure which one you're in. Must be cold there. 🧊 ⛸️
@@MarlenesHomeandGarden Oh I see, I am in zone 5. 🥶

Thanks for watching my friend. I did a recent video on treating for bugs before you bring plants indoors. Hope you get to check it out. ☺
