    0:05 Hopefully the customer got the vehicle cleaned or either got rid of it as it's quite the hazard! Sunroof drains being clogged is super common to see on VW's. I've shown a similar clip 2-3 years ago.
    0:16 The customer did not lock the steering wheel and put it in the 12 o'clock position when installing the new tie rods.
    0:27 "Fixed the issue with a new steering kit and a new drop pitman arm."
    0:35 A fire hazard and a disaster waiting to happen. Hopefully, the customer actually removes the necessary amount of wiring.
    0:48 The vehicle was an Audi (did not mention model).
    0:59 Hopefully they get the repairs done soon!
    1:12 The customer had convinced the manager to cover this under warranty/pay for a new seat belt. As mentioned the technician thinks they could have just tilt the seat back and got the kid removed from the seat instead of calling the fire department.
    1:25 The technician quoted the customer for a fog light kit, but they declined. He also asked the service advisor and customer to verify if they meant the driver-side fog light did not work and they verified that was their concern and not any issues with the headlights.
    1:33 A common issue to see on Nissan Muranos. Whoever installed these parts needs to pay better attention!
    1:45 Let's hope they don't get into an accident...
    1:50 The customer continued to drive. When the check engine light flashes that means there's a cylinder misfire and unburned fuel is getting into the exhaust system and can cause critical damage to the engine and exhaust.
    2:05 The customer got very lucky!
    2:16 This is why I don't trust car salesmen. This would have been a huge headache for whoever bought the car. Fortunately, it wasn't sold to that customer (unsure what happened after that).
    2:32 A new fuel line was quoted but the customer said he would fix it himself.
    2:40 A fire waiting to happen! Fortunately, it was an easy find.
    2:52 "A quick-thinking shop owner bravely pushed a flaming tyre away after it fell from a truck in southern China. CCTV footage filmed in the city of Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on January 13 shows a tyre falling from a passing cargo truck, bursting into flames and careening into a local paint shop. Mr. Wei, the store owner, displayed remarkable courage as he rushed to push the blazing tyre out of his shop, preventing a potential disaster. Eyewitnesses described the harrowing moment as the tyre, engulfed in flames, crashed through the shop's entrance, narrowly missing customers and store staff. Mr. Wei's swift actions not only saved lives but also prevented significant damage to the store. According to Wei, the tyre belonged to a truck parked on the roadside. Miraculously, no injuries were reported, and the store suffered minimal losses, with only a damaged coffee table. Wei has already reached an agreement with the truck driver regarding compensation for the incident."
    3:12 Outro. Thanks for watching!

      @@alexwalker2582 An explosion requires the ratio of fuel to air in the heated area be in a certain range. Too much fuel or too little fuel in the air and an explosion can't happen no matter how hot it gets from a welder. If you're welding in a well-ventilated area, which is pretty important for welding anything, then there shouldn't be anywhere near enough fuel in the air to cause an explosion with a small leak. Trying to weld a fuel line in a car parked in a little garage at home that's been there for a while with the doors closed might be more hazardous. Slightly related, all natural gas companies employ many welders specifically to repair natural gas pipes through welding them even while they're being used to transport natural gas.

    I had a salesman deliver my wife's brand new 2020 Honda Civic to our house without functioning brakes. He handed her the keys and congratulated her on the purchase.
    I took the car for a spin later that night for kicks, just to find that the brake pedal went to the floor and stopping required pumping the brakes. Obviously there was air in the brake lines from the factory. When I called the next day (obviously a little perturbed), they told me to drive it back to them. Needless to say, they came and picked it up on a flat bed after a few words.
    There was around 70km on the car odo. This was from a certified Honda dealership.
    Most salespeople are completely soulless individuals who have zero brand loyalty and don't give a shit about you beyond getting your commission. So I am not surprised they didn't want to have the Subaru Forester fixed 😅

    • @jatoxo
      @jatoxo 3 місяці тому +3

      If you look at slow motion footage of airbags deploying, you can see how the cover tears and flops away to the side. These plastic sticker things are very light, and will probably stay attached when that happens. Even if they were to come loose, the airbag unfolds in a way which would push them out of the way of the person.

    At what point do shops (or does a shop) have the responsibility and/or right to prevent an unsafe driver from leaving? Bartenders can be sued for allowing a drunk to drive home- can a shop be held responsible for a dangerous car that they let a driver just leave with? Years ago as a mechanic and state inspector in NY, we didn't allow customers to leave in dangerous vehicles- we fixed them, period. If we had to give someone a loaner for a few days while we fixed the car (sometimes without presenting a bill), we did. Mind you, I worked in a shop in a small town, but I am shocked at what mechanics seem to be allowing out the door today.

    • @The13thclam
      @The13thclam 3 місяці тому +2

      Without state requirements for vehicle safety and drivability there's really no way to prevent these people from leaving. As long as they settle the bill for diagnosis and sign a waiver more often than not the shop has no recourse to prevent them from getting back on the road. They could call the police (or state patrol for CMV violations) and I'm sure some do but the odds of a response seem pretty low.
