    This was an incredibly emotional story. Something I'll never forget. Marrying an Iranian man with those laws is something women need to know in advance. The way he kidnapped his wife and child was difficult to watch and harder to to imagine what she went through.

      The global dominance of "MAN" and its presence and influence in the world could start with Iran and Iranian men. A lot of times we only hear the bad. But I am really interested in hearing about the good.
      Personally, my father was and is my biggest supporter! Even beyond the grave, I dare not " Do the right thing" for everyone involved, sort- of- speak.
      Is Iranian laws in support of men that are supportive of women and children that "Do the right thing" for everyone involved, sort- of- speak in such a way it won't tarnish their global imagery and reputation of "MAN"?

      Please don’t generalize. Also, laws by a few authoritarians who gain power in a country do not reflect the people who live under those laws.
      This story was about an abusive man who duped his wife into a situation he knew would entrap her. Unfortunately, she did not research the laws of that country before she went.
      But it is not indicative of Persians nor is it indicative of Islam. As well, to generalize about “the way things are in the ME” isn’t okay. This is an anecdotal story.
      If I told you a horrific story about an abusive American man who used local or state laws or systemic contacts (good old boy system) plus pressure from the local church to subjugate and entrap his wife, it wouldn’t be indicative of America or Christianity, right?*
      I know a number of Iranians (both men and women) who are gentle, kind and proponents of equal rights for all. They are not misogynists, nor are they bigots. Ditto with Persians from Afghanistan and India.
      This is an excellent movie and compelling story. The problem is that many individuals in the west have used it as “proof” to indicate it is a cultural and religious norm.
      *BTW, if you want laws and institutions in the USA to uphold our freedoms, vote Blue. Project 2025 and Schedule F are a real thing and I am utterly ashamed at the religious leaders who are backing it and pushing it on our nation. If Trump gets in, we will have white nationalist rule in this country and it will become a rule by the Christian Taliban. True followers of Jesus will recognize this and denounce it vehemently.

      Even though every single study done on the difference between a single father and single mother home it overwhelmingly shows a single father home as superior in every way.
      #1 indicator of a child being molested is being in a single mother home.
      #1 indicator that a child will become a criminal is being raised in a single mother home.
      #1 indicator that you will grow up to be impoverished adult is a single mother home.

      @yessum15 4 дні тому

      @@ommeloise6309This is actually not true. In the US, the reason mothers are granted custody is because *fathers overwhelmingly do not want custody.* Over 90% of custody decisions in divorce are made by the families without the involvement of the courts. When the courts are involved, fathers overwhelmingly voluntarily refuse primary custody.
      In the extremely rare instances where primary custody is actually disputed the court will advantage *whoever was the primary caregiver during the course of the marriage.* The court does not care whether that was the father or mother. The issue is that in those instances, most of the time the mothers were the primary caregivers during the marriage and are able to demonstrate better familiarity with the ward's daily routines and needs.
      The idea that there is some major problem with fathers being denied custody is a myth. In real life, fathers tend to lack involvement with childcare during the course of the marriage and tend to refuse custody during divorce.
      The actual widespread problem in real life is that in addition to denying primary custody, many fathers also fail to attend visitation sessions and refuse to pay support. The problem is not that courts are taking wards away from their fathers, but rather that courts are struggling to find ways to keep fathers involved in their wards lives after a divorce.
