I love games that help out and have rules for kingdom building and employee / business / hireling rules (I threw that in there because some games do have that also as I'm still new to learning about d100). I wish dnd had rules for these things and even some 3rd party sources, I won't name which, have rules for what to do with a castle for example but don't say how big the castle should be. A 500 square foot castle could be a lot different from a 1000 square foot castle. Anyway, this game looks really cool and looking forward to more about it!
IDK if you noticed but your nifty little DIY time tracker actually has two # 9's. I know it doesn't really matter but I thought I'd bring it to your attention anyway. Just got shipping notification for this yesterday, can't wait to dive in.

@@TheDungeonDive What I mean is that companions and spouses could be controlled by the player. But this imitation of real life should not be strong, otherwise there will be a lot of bookkeeping.
I just got the book too and reading through it, I wonder if you have an answer as you already played it. In regular D100 you start with -40 on your encounter roll to avoid really brutal enemies and it gradually scales every quest. I didnt notice any such scaling in the world builder when reading, and it says to start with a new character. Is there anything to avoid facing a gold dragon and getting totally destroyed in the first quest you do?

The only thing this game is missing is some sort of way to build up reputation in specific towns. If I do a bunch of quests and events in a specific town it would be awesome to see events that recognize that. Sort of like the Shadows of Brimstone Hexcrawl. It would also be cool if you could build your own castle or village on a hex. You could spend gold to add services like repair or heal. That way if you have an area of the world that just doesn’t have any towns nearby you could actually start a new town. I know they have the ability to make a camp, but I think rules to upgrade a camp to a village and so on would be awesome! This expansion really has my imagination going.

ive tried and tried and i just dont see the point in this game. with dungeon crawling this simplistic it looks like the real game is in the character building and equipment meta. But then i struggle with... why? Why build a character, whats the goal? whats the end game here? I guess this is why i struggle with warhammer quest too. But at least that game had SOME tactical combat.
The end game of any game is to have fun while playing. If you’re not having fun, move on to something else. :). This game is all about building a world and establishing you hero’s place in that world, while dealing with survival elements, managing resources, and getting better stats and gear, all while dealing with random encounters. It’s part of the larger genre of mapping games.

The only thing missing is the mechanic of marriage and relationships with human companions for a perfect roll & write.
It is a very solitary game. Although I've only seen like 2% of the random events, so there might be something there.

It's on the QR table in the WB book. Talks about it in the generating a quest section.

So what exactly do you need to play this? Thought it was just base book and the overland book but looks like you need the mapping tiles stuff as well
Just the base book and WB expansion. Nothing else.
Do you have to do all of the settlement actions in exactly that order? You couldn’t have sold first, then healed and what not after?
According to the rules you do things in order. Keeps the balance in the game. Of course you are always free to change things.

This was seriously the luckiest game of D100 dungeon I've ever had.
You said this is a top 10 or 20 game. That doesnt sound that good. What games beat this and can do more stuff then this does? Whats your number 1?

Tactical combat is my least favorite thing about any game. I prefer games with more abstract combat.
