This is a very honest view point..I just want to say one thing...The glory and valour of Rajputs, the forts the palaces will always stand through time...The honesty, the bravery the integrity will always be remembered by generations and all future generations to come, on the other hand the ones who earned through treachery, fraud and lust for women have nothing left,just a pile of old bricks and ruins near Qutub Minar..Time takes revenge eventually.

As for showing wrong history in any historical movie, if you tell a statement to one student to class of 60 and ask him to pass it on, you would find that the last one to reproduce the same statement will be very different from the original one. How on earth we expect that we know true history after hundreds of years with people passing on the story. We must allow movie makers to recreate history on big screen based on real events happened and fill some amount of imagination also. The sole idea is to feel patriotism about our rich history.
Remind me of this lonely guy who live in huge ancient Mansion with nobody but his dog back in Mussoorie. As a kid we used to get water from somewhere like 5 mins away from our hostel, while waiting in line for water and just chilling and hanging out there, I remember his dog would bark from up there and he would of course in English call his dog back in the house with such a great tone of voice, and we could hear everything but in my mind just that very 2 sec, this entire scene come across as a strange experience, feeling strange for that guy up there, who seem to have very very lonely and dull life but at the same time admiring his person and voice, then after that 2 sec, just like puff his existence was totally out of my consciousness..... until may be the next time we run out of hostel water and have to get water from that place...lol but somehow that strange judgement never actually went away from my memories of Mussoorie and I used to always think if someday if I write a fun book on Mussoorie, I always wanted to include that part as well because in someway this entire scenes resembles the imagination of novel “Le Petite Prince” and it’s actually pretty cool!!!

Take it easy, it's just a movie, and the solo purpose of a movie is to entertain the audience. if you perceive that the movie Padmavati has wrongly depicted the history, and the depiction is unrealistic, let the people judge this themselves. if people are wise, they are smart enough to dig the history and now the facts themselves. Only thing, I would agree is that the movie should show some disclaimer stating that the movie Padmaviti is inspired from an historic event and it is a fiction work. I’m not supporting Karni Sena and not even considering any illegal violent group as sena. There is only sena in our country that’s the great Indian Army. But… (As per the trailer I guess…) The film name is Padmavati. The lead character is Maharani Padmavati. Other character's names are same as in History. So the characters are not fictional. As per the trailer Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants to visualize the historic time line of Rajputana, Delhi sultanate etc. So this movie will not be based on fictional story. It is a historical movie. And historical movie should be properly informative and documentary type. For this reason the director does not require to make it more artistic. Even the director has no right to corrupt the real history for the commercial interests.
Shri Ji ko pranam, hkm I agree with you 100% , artistic license comes with responsibilities specially when in a country like India which has diverse demographics and a long history of struggle which still is etched well on the psyche of general public, also when a work of art enters into a mass market as a commercially viable product, then in that case the customer feedback is most important fact to consider, a film is a work of art only till the time when it is not charging people money and is not utilizing traditional heavy PR and marketing channels. History of Mewar is very dear and near to it's people and it just couldnt be understood by anyone who isnt born and lived in Mewar, democracy has given away power and influence to those who dont deserve a faati dhovti.

This shouldnt mean, a filmmaker should not make movie on historical subject. Bhansali doesnt claim he is potraying history. Like all other historical movies, he is filling gaps with his imagination to make his work seem beautiful. If he is showing that rani padmini herself went to free rana ratansingh with hundreds of soldiers, which didnt actually happen, what is so wrong in it? This only glorifies rani padmini. I strongly believe that after watching padmavati a layman will feel proud of rajput samaj. This will be due to excellent treatment given by bhansali. Cant we focus on dialogue spoken by ratansingh in trailer which shows true might of rajputs instead of what cloths deepika wore in trailer or the song? Dont you feel energetic by the music in last part of trailer?

Well boss by living in kingdom having luxury lifestyle you can easily talk about it in front of camera. If you seriously feel something for Rajputs or so called your people please go out and help them on ground. The way the Rajputs have reacted to this entire thing is a shame to the country. The world is watching. I used to very proudly say that I belonged to Rajasthan, till this happened. There is no doubt that Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir has made a film, (that will in no way hurt anyone's sentiments), but a film India and Rajputs will be proud of. The Indian culture is more dear to him, or is as much dearer and important to him, then it is to any religious or cultural community. The entire controversy, and the attacks, threats, have put the Rajputs in a bad light. Could have been dealt with, in a better way, if they thought there was anything wrong in it.

Bhagwan Ratan Ji Chitroda was a great ruler and not just of Chittorgadh. If you focus on my ancestor Bhagwan Krisna Chitroda you will work out that I am Known as Dwarakadeesh himself the eternal play of the human soul. One particular element to focus on is the building structure of my Chittorgadh Fort, as it matches all the aged mandirs of the Dwarpan age. Padmavati was not a person it was the name of the fort. Where great Bhajans and poojas where conducted. PA DA MA VA TA are the original Musical notes made in code from my elder Bhagwan Saraswat Chitroda ancestor. Many aspects of the film where wrong including women burning themselves in fire? As in that time my ancestors decided to make women independent under my Bhagwan RamdevPir Chitroda empire and they had to do a simple 10 meter fire walk to qualify. That's exactly his point, people like u who have not taken anytime to study history and are ignorant to the point that u aren't even aware of the existence of Padmavati, the only opinion that u would make about her would be based of an unrealistic movie, which may or may not have any relation with the reality. This is a prime example of how propaganda works and how history is distorted over the period of time.
And yes, I do not discredit the possibility that Padmavati may not have even existed and I don't even care if they release the movie or not. But his point is just that people will judge Padmavati from the narratives of the movie and how the director tries to show it in the movie which he thinks are false narratives as they don't match with what's there in the texts.

This is a very honest view point..I just want to say one thing...The glory and valour of Rajputs, the forts the palaces will always stand through time...The honesty, the bravery the integrity will always be remembered by generations and all future generations to come, on the other hand the ones who earned through treachery, fraud and lust for women have nothing left,just a pile of old bricks and ruins near Qutub Minar..Time takes revenge eventually.

As for showing wrong history in any historical movie, if you tell a statement to one student to class of 60 and ask him to pass it on, you would find that the last one to reproduce the same statement will be very different from the original one. How on earth we expect that we know true history after hundreds of years with people passing on the story. Remind me of this lonely guy who live in huge ancient Mansion with nobody but his dog back in Mussoorie. As a kid we used to get water from somewhere like 5 mins away from our hostel, while waiting in line for water and just chilling and hanging out there, I remember his dog would bark from up there and he would of course in English call his dog back in the house with such a great tone of voice, and we could hear everything but in my mind just that very 2 sec, this entire scene come across as a strange experience, feeling strange for that guy up there, who seem to have very very lonely and dull life but at the same time admiring his person and voice, then after that 2 sec, just like puff his existence was totally out of my consciousness..... until may be the next time we run out of hostel water and have to get water from that place...lol but somehow that strange judgement never actually went away from my memories of Mussoorie and I used to always think if someday if I write a fun book on Mussoorie, I always wanted to include that part as well because in someway this entire scenes resembles the imagination of novel “Le Petite Prince” and it’s actually pretty cool!!!

The film name is Padmavati. The lead character is Maharani Padmavati. Other character's names are same as in History. So the characters are not fictional. As per the trailer Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants to visualize the historic time line of Rajputana, Delhi sultanate etc. So this movie will not be based on fictional story. It is a historical movie. And historical movie should be properly informative and documentary type. For this reason the director does not require to make it more artistic. Even the director has no right to corrupt the real history for the commercial interests.
Shri Ji ko pranam, hkm I agree with you 100% , artistic license comes with responsibilities specially when in a country like India which has diverse demographics and a long history of struggle which still is etched well on the psyche of general public, also when a work of art enters into a mass market as a commercially viable product, then in that case the customer feedback is most important fact to consider, a film is a work of art only till the time when it is not charging people money and is not utilizing traditional heavy PR and marketing channels. History of Mewar is very dear and near to it's people and it just couldnt be understood by anyone who isnt born and lived in Mewar, democracy has given away power and influence to those who dont deserve a faati dhovti.

India is divided by region, religion, caste, gender and what not. This is again a good example of the same. Do not buy history from bollywood. So much fight and violence over this movie but movies which depict the true state of India like Newton go unnoticed. That's the sad part of my country.

As you say, the history you know came from word of mouth and hence we cant produce any proof. This is the case with every major event in history. Nobody knows for sure what exactly happened. This shouldnt mean, a filmmaker should not make movie on historical subject. Bhansali doesnt claim he is potraying history. Like all other historical movies, he is filling gaps with his imagination to make his work seem beautiful. If he is showing that rani padmini herself went to free rana ratansingh with hundreds of soldiers, which didnt actually happen, what is so wrong in it? This only glorifies rani padmini. I strongly believe that after watching padmavati a layman will feel proud of rajput samaj. This will be due to excellent treatment given by bhansali. Cant we focus on dialogue spoken by ratansingh in trailer which shows true might of rajputs instead of what cloths deepika wore in trailer or the song? Well boss by living in kingdom having luxury lifestyle you can easily talk about it in front of camera. If you seriously feel something for Rajputs or so called your people please go out and help them on ground. The way the Rajputs have reacted to this entire thing is a shame to the country. The world is watching. I used to very proudly say that I belonged to Rajasthan, till this happened.
There is no doubt that Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir has made a film, (that will in no way hurt anyone's sentiments), but a film India and Rajputs will be proud of. The Indian culture is more dear to him, or is as much dearer and important to him, then it is to any religious or cultural community.
The entire controversy, and the attacks, threats, have put the Rajputs in a bad light. Could have been dealt with, in a better way, if they thought there was anything wrong in it.

Nana Bapa ji you must start to tell the people who I am. Padmavati the film was a total load of rubbish there have been many attempts to create the story of my Ancestors Chittorgadh history. Bhagwan Ratan Ji Chitroda was a great ruler and not just of Chittorgadh. If you focus on my ancestor Bhagwan Krisna Chitroda you will work out that I am Known as Dwarakadeesh himself the eternal play of the human soul. One particular element to focus on is the building structure of my Chittorgadh Fort, as it matches all the aged mandirs of the Dwarpan age. Padmavati was not a person it was the name of the fort. Where great Bhajans and poojas where conducted. PA DA MA VA TA are the original Musical notes made in code from my elder Bhagwan Saraswat Chitroda ancestor. Many aspects of the film where wrong including women burning themselves in fire? As in that time my ancestors decided to make women independent under my Bhagwan RamdevPir Chitroda empire and they had to do a simple 10 meter fire walk to qualify. The Muslims where all poor refugees and not bad people. Work it out my codes are everywhere on this planet. * इसी तरह महाराणा प्रताप का ज़िक्र आता है तो हल्दीघाटी नाम सबसे पहले सुनाई देता है
हालांकि इस युद्ध के परिणाम शुरु से ही विवादास्पद रहे, कभी अनिर्णित माना गया, कभी अकबर को विजेता माना तो हाल ही में महाराणा को विजेता माना
बहरहाल, महाराणा प्रताप ने गोगुन्दा, चावण्ड, मोही, मदारिया, कुम्भलगढ़, ईडर, मांडल, दिवेर जैसे कुल 21 बड़े युद्ध जीते व 300 से अधिक मुगल छावनियों को ध्वस्त किया
महाराणा प्रताप के समय मेवाड़ में लगभग 50 दुर्ग थे, जिनमें से तकरीबन सभी पर मुगलों का अधिकार हो चुका था व 26 दुर्गों के नाम बदलकर मुस्लिम नाम रखे गए, जैसे उदयपुर बना मुहम्मदाबाद, चित्तौड़गढ़ बना अकबराबाद
फिर कैसे आज उदयपुर को हम उदयपुर के नाम से ही जानते हैं ?... ये हमें कोई नहीं बताता
असल में इन 50 में से 2 दुर्ग छोड़कर शेष सभी पर महाराणा प्रताप ने विजय प्राप्त की थी व लगभग सम्पूर्ण मेवाड़ पर दोबारा अधिकार किया था
दिवेर जैसे युद्ध में भले ही महाराणा के पुत्र अमरसिंह ने अकबर के काका सुल्तान खां को भाले के प्रहार से कवच समेत ही क्यों न भेद दिया हो, लेकिन हम तो सिर्फ हल्दीघाटी युद्ध का इतिहास पढ़ेंगे, बाकी युद्ध तो सब गौण हैं इसके आगे!!!!
* महाराणा अमरसिंह ने मुगल बादशाह जहांगीर से 17 बड़े युद्ध लड़े व 100 से अधिक मुगल चौकियां ध्वस्त कीं, लेकिन हमें सिर्फ ये पढ़ाया जाता है कि 1615 ई. में महाराणा अमरसिंह ने मुगलों से संधि की | ये कोई नहीं बताएगा कि 1597 ई. से 1615 ई. के बीच क्या क्या हुआ |

* चित्तौड़गढ़ दुर्ग की बात आती है तो सिर्फ 3 युद्धों की चर्चा होती है :-
1) अलाउद्दीन ने रावल रतनसिंह को पराजित किया
2) बहादुरशाह ने राणा विक्रमादित्य के समय चित्तौड़गढ़ दुर्ग जीता
3) अकबर ने महाराणा उदयसिंह को पराजित कर दुर्ग पर अधिकार किया
क्या इन तीन युद्धों के अलावा चित्तौड़गढ़ पर कभी कोई हमले नहीं हुए ?
* इस तरह राजपूतों ने जो युद्ध हारे हैं, इतिहास में हमें वही पढ़ाया जाता है
बहुत से लोग हमें नसीहत देते हैं कि तुम राजपूतों के पूर्वजों ने सही रणनीति से काम नहीं लिया, घटिया हथियारों का इस्तेमाल किया इसीलिए हमेशा हारे हो
अब उन्हें किन शब्दों में समझाएं कि उन्हीं हथियारों से हमने अनगिनत युद्ध जीते हैं, मातृभूमि का लहू से अभिषेक किया है, सैंकड़ों वर्षों तक विदेशी शत्रुओं की आग उगलती तोपों का अपनी तलवारों से सामना किया है
साथ ही सभी भाइयों से निवेदन करूंगा कि आप अपने महापुरुषों के बारे में वास्तविक इतिहास पढिए, ताकि आने वाली पीढ़ियां हमें वही समझे, जो वास्तव में हम थे!

Do you have any historical evidence of Padmini before Jayasi wrote fictional poem padmavat ? Also Padmini was the princess of Singhal kingdom of SriLanka which means she was not rajput by birth. And even if Khalji was so desperate what was so different in that, most rulers of that time did that and that is the reason why we no more gives a damn to aristocracy. Think!

I was with you till the time you talked about that it is difficult capture to essence of sati, I was with you till you quoted the Maharana Pratap incident. But you started sounding exactly like karni sena karyakarta when you said you have not seen the film, though you sounded x1000 classier. Yes this is how the youth is of the country who read their history only when a bollywood film releases, no one knew Padmavati apart from Rajasthanis, but your rigidity or 'patthar ki lakeer' was such a let down. You are such a graceful man in your conduct and clearly show where you come from but the way you simplified or rather belittled the whole art of film making and devalued it, you lost me. That's exactly his point, people like u who have not taken anytime to study history and are ignorant to the point that u aren't even aware of the existence of Padmavati, the only opinion that u would make about her would be based of an unrealistic movie, which may or may not have any relation with the reality. This is a prime example of how propaganda works and how history is distorted over the period of time.
And yes, I do not discredit the possibility that Padmavati may not have even existed and I don't even care if they release the movie or not. But his point is just that people will judge Padmavati from the narratives of the movie and how the director tries to show it in the movie which he thinks are false narratives as they don't match with what's there in the texts.
So you have clearly not understood what I meant to say and have no idea what 'sickular' 'ignorant' 'pakistani' blah-blah like me are trying to say. Its only a movie,
A. if you are so worried about it, watch it, dust it once and for all! (if you really are worried about anyone forming wrong opinion)

First tell me this. Was Padmavati a real figure or a mythical figure. If she was a real person can you let us know where are you getting your historical facts from. Can you cite any historical texts which says that she was real. If she was a mythical folklore figure then all this debate is useless. Even if she was real the house of mewar does not have any rights on padmavati story. If the Rajputs are so distressed then they should boycott the movie instead of trying to ban the movie. Or better yet release your own version of the movie.
