I am a proud Indian whose best friend is a Sikh, role model is a Muslim Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam sir and have studied in a Christian convent school in my childhood. I stay in a locality in Mumbai filled with jain temples, mosques, hindu temples and churches. And I am a hindu myself. We are one of the most secular and peaceful countries in the world considering the varieties of minorities living here and the rich culture we have as communities. Love my India. Jai hind!

This is perhaps one of the best speeches I have ever heard from Javed Akhtar Sahib. I do not like him much for most of his other thoughts. But whatever he said on this platform has increased my respect for him. I wish every politician to be think this way in real terms. Then Nobody on this earth can stop my country to become Vishwaguru.

Javed Akhtar is a free thinker good human and not a muslim, hindu, atheist etc. Not all Muslims are same because Islam teaches many shitty things but many Muslims do not follow those things. ISIS is the extreme version of Islam ie. the wahabi/salafi Islam. There are many reformed version of Islam like sufi/Ahmedi etc and hence sunni/shia Muslims dont consider these sufis ahmedis as Muslims. This is same for all religions. what many Hindus follow today is a reformed version of sanatan dharma. The only difference between sanatana dharma and Islam is sanatana dharma is not strict like Islam
sanatan dharm/hinduism is not a religion, but way of living... So there are no compulsions to follow some rules in all situation...Instead it encourages to develop intellect and intuition. Then act according to divine will....
