Thanks for your channel. My wife left me almost a year ago now. She had retired me from motorcycle riding (how could of that type of relationship failed? lol). Well I purchased a bike about a month or 2 after she R U N N O F T. I wouldn't say I'm happier, but I definitely love riding my motorcycle again. Your channel is very inspiring, it cheers me up, it makes me want to do silly things at high speeds (I mean at the speed limit) and most of all just stay a good person and father. I love the bible verses thrown in (now I don't even have to feel bad about not going to church on Sunday) it's church everytime you drop a video. Anyways, Thank you! I hope your videos help the other million subscribers as much as they have helped me. Keep up the good work, y'all are amazing people.
hey brother sorry your wife left you and glad you were able to get back into riding. do your best to be the best Dad you can be, but one loosely put bible verse in a video per week is no replacement for a good church. Go find your self a nice community that can help you raise those kids and be the person that God wants you to be. Gods got big plans for you my friend.
Mine left me in 2020. Just got remarried to someone who actually loves me and rides with me. Divorce isn’t ideal or fun, but I’d say it always ends up better. Be free brother!
Find a woman who loves and respects who you are,my wife had seen me languish about for years not having a bike,so last year she bought me one for my birthday,(the bike I have always wanted from my teenage years) unknown to me she set it all up to pick up a "sofa" for the basement ,when we got there it was an awesome 1986 600cc yamaha radian,I love that bike, but love her more,a great woman is out there for you as well, don't give up on it.
Did a lot of sub-freezing weather riding on a Harley Sportster, and a Triumph Bonneville back in the seventies. Once the hands go numb it's hard to work the clutch or throttle, especially with"three finger mitts". Today you can get heated gloves or throttle, so you might get to your destinatio, without stopping to unfreeze the hands.
Several years ago I pulled into the local convenience store and parked next to a 1946 Indian Chief with original Indian sidecar. This thing was rusty and beat looking but completely stock and original. The owner came out while I was looking at it and he looked about as old and original as his bike. He told me it was a 46. He kicked it over a few times and cruised off down the road on it. I loved your story about your ride home. Modern bikes are great but not the adventure that something like this is.
I took a 3 year break from riding a motorcycle due to getting t-boned, but found your videos and ended up back on 2 wheels. Thank you for reigniting my passion for motorcycle riding, and God bless.
I had a wife before who hated motorcycles and that was a horrible relationship. I found that my motorcycle is good for the soul and better than therapy. Love isn’t enough anymore. You must share the same vision, morals, goals and enjoy similar activities or you might as well be single. I have a good woman now who went through a rider safety course, got her own license and has her own bike and rides with me on shorter jaunts. Win, win!
With those old bikes you really feel the bumps, from taint to teeth. My uncle rode his 59 Panhead from Richland WA, to my place in Boise ID, and back. It ran like a dream but broke down the day after he got home. He got it running again, and rode it a couple more times before he passed away. His son has his bike now.
World's fastest Indian was one of the best movies ever made,I personally have seen it multiple times and will again,it's an awesome story of a man's aspirations to break the world speed record in his class, with a heap of his personal life thrown in,single best bike film I have ever seen.
The Indian chief was my mom's first bike back in 19 56!! My dad drove the electrics and the duraglides! When he retired from the Air Force army Air corps he brought home is WLA from the Air Force Base in California! And turned it into a barber in his flight buddies that made it back they started a motorcycle club called the LA beachcombers!!! He was into flat tracking and midget racing I was still working as an aircraft engineer!! I have lots of stories I could tell about my father my mother and my brothers perhaps I will save them for another time if the interest is out there to want to hear them peace and God bless to everybody my dad flew the p38 lightning and was quite a daredevil with the damn thing but he started out in the liberators and saw a lot of hardcore action anybody wants to hear more or would like to hear more just give me a shout back I like talking about it peace and God bless to everyone 🙏✌️🇺🇸
9:28 - These 80" bikes were very fast. Not far from where you guys are at over in DelCo. (Delaware Co.) after WW2 my grandfather and his band of idiots raced these bikes down McDade blvd. every Saturday night all year round. He told stories of wrecking 1 day old Indian Chiefs and 80" flatheads etc. Wore out quarter inch leathers. They all rode to work down on the river at the shipyards, Baldwin Locomotive. etc. worked on their machines in the shops. After midnight on Sat. nights his brother who was a Ridley cop would shut down the blvd. and they'd race these big bikes, Model A hotrods etc. He said they'd easily do over a hundred mph which was pretty fast in those daze. Those are gettin' few and far between. You should keep that one. Thx. for the videos. There's 4 ft. of snow here in N.W. Mt. but Spring is comin".
I figured it was converted to 12v when I saw the head light come on nice and bright. I like that you're getting into vintage bikes... nobody would have judged you if you had just put it in the truck. Riding an old bike you've never been on in the freezing cold...that sounds rough. I bought my first vintage Triumph last year and rode it home about an hour and a half, but a 64 Triumph is practically a modern motorcycle compared to the last 2 vintage bikes you've picked up. : )
The worlds fastest Indian is definitely a movie that every motorcyclist should watch. It’s such a good story and it definitely makes you feel proud of the history that motorcycles have and that you are a part of it. 👍🏼
I just don't like it when he quotes the Bible and at the same time stages the video's, just make the video's completly honest. There not suppost to be partially made up just to make them interesting! Choose honest or maidup or quit quoting the Bible at the same time!
I absolutely love that you are collecting these old bikes. Someone who really cares about them definitely needs to. I also can admire your fortitude for riding in the cold. I've hit my sixties and I still haven't learned my lesson about cold weather riding, but that day is coming! Remember to keep the shiny side up!
The World's Fastest Indian with the story of Burt Munro got me into motorcycling. I remember being 17 and watching it really late at night and my mind was blown by that man's knowledge and perseverance. Life is truly what you make it. Get busy living, or get busy dying! I have been on my Suzuki SV650 for the past 8 years but ready to get my Scout now that I can afford it.
This was a really awesome and fantastic episode and I absolutely love the older bikes! They are just so fascinating (although I've never seen one up close in person or rode one - like prior to 1960) and I'm a huge fan of the older vintage motorcycles! Thanks so much for sharing this and I've ridden plenty of times in 40-degree weather so I understand how cold it can get, especially your extremities (hands, feet, etc) so you certainly deserve a HUGE kudos for putting yourself through that and making it! I'm glad you're safe and you made it! Thanks again for sharing and keep the content of old vintage bikes coming! Thanks for all you do for the motorcycle community, as others have said you have made a huge difference in peoples' lives and mine included! God Bless you guys and your families!!!
I have never cared for Indian motorcycles, but I was genuinely cheering for both bike and rider to make it home. Well done on all counts! When I was 23, I had a 1984 Softail that my then girlfriend nicknamed Babydoll. I still have the Softail.
I got a 1999 KX 80 and I swear I'm never going back to quads . You as well as a few of my friends have brought me closer to my faith in God... I can't Thankyou enough for what you do brother ... stay safe and cautious out there . Much love from a mutual PA boy....
I like the idea of being able to switch the throttle grip on long bike rides to be on both grips if I were to rest my hands, or keep them warm with freezing temperatures, interesting that you mentioned how the Indian Motorcycles were modified for police to maintain a dominant side arm.
I really like the idea of the throttle being relocatable to the left grip. When on the 49cc scooter with bulky gloves for the cold it can be occasionally tricky to get off the throttle and use the front brake. Meh. Winter's almost over.
The side of the throttle was optional, with a HAND shift and a FOOT clutch to boot. confusing, I know, No wonder generations of people were scared of the "dangerousness" of motorcycles.
My first Indian was a 1923 Powerplus which I rode regularly, no front brake and 1000cc engine on clincher rims, thinking back on it, it was more luck than design that I survived that experience, my next Indian was a 1946 Chief that was my daily rider for many years, it was very comfortable and reliable, I had no hesitation taking it on 3 day interstate rides, the only reason I sold it was that I was hitting the service intervals monthly and so I opted for a Road king to get more miles in the saddle between garage stops.
Respect to all the previous owners for not letting this bike die and keeping it running and cared for. Proud to say I have some old bikes I'm doing the same to.
Your videos make me smile! Your happiness and genuine enjoyment of bikes is something that really shows through in your videos and reminds me that is always great to be passionate about being on two wheels. Great stuff! A big thank you from NZ! My wife is from Burt's original home town of Edendale! 👍🤙
Sean and Team, this content is good! Been really enjoying more frequent videos, keep living this dream of enjoying motorcycles, and sharing it with us. Thank you for all of each one of your efforts to bring us this content! God is with all of you!!!
I just wanna say thank you to you guys. I knew very little about motorcycles. And after watching your content for so long I felt good enough to go out and buy a brand new Yamaha MT-07 and I can't get enough of it. 2 wheels are where it's at. I've been missing out!
Burt? Thanks for the tribute to a fellow Kiwi. Burt Munro is a legend. FYI My son in law has a credit in the movie for building the tailfins of the movie bike streamliner. He also received 2 tickets for the premiere!
Sean, great content man! I’m sad I missed out on my window to buy a bike from you. Now that I’m back in the market for a touring bike, your video reviews are suggested repeatedly and I keep watching. Hopefully you make it back into the dealership game one day!
it's fantastic you have more time to release more videos. Hope it's working out for you as well as it's working for us viewers. I'll be going to the US (i live in France) on the last week of april for holidays and I would love to meet you guys, if that is possible. As an excuse to go out of my way from NY, I told my wife we need to visit Pens. because of its historical value. do you receive visitors?
@@BikesandBeards Dere er drittsekker, Dere er ikke annet enn respektløse, selv ikke for de som støtter dere hele veien. Dra til helvete alle sammen. It's the truth about you all of.
I definitely know where you're coming from on that freezing cold bike ride! It's hard not to be grinning ear to ear, feeling bitter about in the cold for that long! Richmond to Philly was a huge change up in weather as I had road tripped from Florida a few years back, sleet and freezing cold were the hardest part of it, as i went on to cut the trip up on HWY 1 above Baltimore just to take my chances of not having to pull over on the I-95 freeway to get my hands warm again. Glad to see you posting of your journeys with these old bikes! Really brings the dream of riding the classics to LIFE!
Awesome. Love the lines of those old 40's era bikes. My grandad was a state trooper from back then, and they initially used Indians and then switched to Harleys. The thing about the throttle on the left and being able to shoot was correct, and something he had told me years ago. He stopped riding their bikes when they went to Harleys.
I am a bike lover , and hve travelled far and wide in Inida, loved to see you riding with all these troubles on the way.. this is what bicycle love is...
Well done, you should look for the OME oil tank cap "it has OIL stamped on it" and when you start the bike check the oil tank for a return feed "And Please change the oil now you have gas in it"
Truely enjoyed getting to experience the ride, o. A old Indian “Burt”and the COLD factor …Looking forward to more interesting videos … Take care my Friend 👍🏼
Me, A classic enthusiast myself. so much joy seeing your vids with classic bikes. keep doing it. if you have bikes you will throw into the garbage. Pls dont. send it here.
You can never have too many motorcycles. Especially Indian motorcycles. That’s like saying I have too much money!! A good woman who supports your passions will accept a bike like this. A working driving well maintained 1948 Indian. Hell yeah!!
The perfect number of bikes is how many you currently have plus 1 more. Works wether you have 1 or a 100! I don't have a wife, so I can do what ever I want. I own 4, but only 1 is ridable at the moment. The others in various states of rebuilding. Picked up an ebike, which is pretty fun, almost as good as a small dirt bike.
I started watching this channel about a year ago before I started riding. Now I scour marketplace for cheap/non running bikes with titles in good condition. Started In summer when everything was over priced. Built my own 125 out of an old Yamaha frame. Now I'm ridinf a 750 Kawasaki I paid 800 for. I even got a motorcycle low loading trailer for 300 $ at a yard sale. Winter has come and I'm ready to buy for spring resales and good riding :). Thanks for all the inspiration. Cheers from Idaho
I feel your pain in the cold. A week ago today I rode 258 miles round trip to trade a V-Strom for a H-D Wide Glide. The high temp for the day was 28 degrees. There was only one stop for gas. It is so good to see a guy as adventurous, maybe crazy as myself to prove to my wife that I am not alone!
I love you Spirit of Adventure. When I was a young man I did Many Adventures myself. Once took me 3 days to get through Texas in January for an ice storm. When you get older, I say old is 65 you're sure appreciate having done that. Keep your faith and that bike between two wheels. Emmanuel
I just found your channel and I'm loving it, in this video I noticed you were about 20 minutes from where I live. It's cool seeing a big YT channel showing areas you frequently ride by. Keep up the great content that I'm about to binge watch.
"Burt"......Hell Yes!!!! Great nod to a true badass of the Indian legacy. The guy must of had carbon fibre balls because you can't go that fast with steel ones. This bike needs to be mechanically restored but kept in it's visual state.
Way to go! Sean the die hard! I love these videos. Your inspiring a wack of ppl. I’ve begun the buying and selling of good quality used bikes 🏍 thanks buddy 🙏🇨🇦
Man U are my IDOL !!!! Insanely dedicated to what U love, amazing! I'd like to feel just a part of that insanity. I'm motorcycle crazy since I was born (some 55 years ago) but unfortunately broke my whole life, I drove a few motorcycles but none of them was what my soul desires for: old school retro bike. Pray for me bro and don't stop doing what U love. Greetings from Serbia !
14K is ALOT, but I like it. Frame, heads , cases and front end look right. All the rest of the bolt on could be anything. The clutch is "toe to go". Your shift linkage is gone, but everybody messed with that stuff long ago. The header looks close, but, obviously the the fishtail got added. People used to love those things. Great find man, I love it !
The bit about the seat is spot on. I have a 2001 Honda Rebel and the stock seat, even though it had about 3.5 inches if foam, was very uncomfortable. I bought a sheet of 16g steel, cut out s saddle shaped piece, bent it, and pop riveted/glued some canvas from an old US Army shelter half to it. It's so much more comfortable than the original seat.
I'm on my second bike, a 2017 Royal Enfield Classic 500. The saddle is like an old bicycle saddle with springs underneath. Between that saddle and the rear springarm with adjustable shocks it's an amazingly comfortable ride.
Jeezus, this is totally badass. Bike had a horse shoe on its back, hand print on it and just to top things off, a sling with a frickin gun in it...Owner must've been a heck of a character. I especially dug the leather coverings on the tyres, makes it really look like a chief! Also Im writing this comment being less than a minute and a half in the video..great stuff guys
First bike ever rode was and old Indian Chief.. I'm 66 and ride and old low rider Harley. I've been riding for over 50 years. I love your channel I hope you make it to wheel's thru time in Maggie valley N C. It's the top motor cycle destination. Keep up your great work two wheels down and gone.
Such beautiful bikes. I spoke to an older man in Austin who's Dad owned the Indian dealership there. He said that corporate made some really bad decisions, including proprietary fasteners that alienated their customer base. At the time we spoke , he was restoring only a few Indian big bore flatheads for some customers with deep pockets. IIRC, Indian shut down around 1953-John in Texas
That speedometer nacelle is for a 47 or earlier Chief, it also contained an ammeter . Your Chief runs a lot better than it looks. It even has working brakes . A correct seat is attached to a shaft with a spring that gives some comfort. With some luck, and help from Jerry Greer Indian parts, you could have a decent Chief but then, it wouldn't have the comedic value.
Courageous move to ride that expensive vintage bike on those uncertain road conditions. I've done some involuntary slipping and sliding on ice and snow in Pennsylvania-type climates, which ended OK but it's not something I choose to do anymore. Riding only when it's above 40 degrees anymore. I salute you. If I ever see you stranded on the road, count on me to assist.
The best way to protect against cold, when riding a motorcycle is to wrap newspaper or any kind of paper on the body then put on a shirt, then wear a jacket and fill the jacket up with crumpled news papers. And also wrap your hands with newspapers before wearing gloves. Trust me, this hack has helped me quite many times when i was under-prepared for the weather. 👍👍👍👍

Burt? Thanks for the tribute to a fellow Kiwi. Burt Munro is a legend. FYI My son in law has a credit in the movie for building the tailfins of the movie bike streamliner. He also received 2 tickets for the premiere!
That's awesome!!
You buying old bikes and trying to get them home is the best idea and the best videos you have done. Love these.
Sean, great content man! I’m sad I missed out on my window to buy a bike from you. Now that I’m back in the market for a touring bike, your video reviews are suggested repeatedly and I keep watching. Hopefully you make it back into the dealership game one day!
im sure i will
Great video Sean! Definitely made me smile. It was a great way to start off the day! 😄👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
it's fantastic you have more time to release more videos. Hope it's working out for you as well as it's working for us viewers. I'll be going to the US (i live in France) on the last week of april for holidays and I would love to meet you guys, if that is possible. As an excuse to go out of my way from NY, I told my wife we need to visit Pens. because of its historical value. do you receive visitors?
we do from time to time
@@BikesandBeards Great!. I'll get back to you closer to the date to see if you are available. Thanks

Well done, you should look for the OME oil tank cap "it has OIL stamped on it" and when you start the bike check the oil tank for a return feed "And Please change the oil now you have gas in it"
Yeah what was that all about. They are just trying to clean the cylinders out by washing....I'm guessing LOL
Truely enjoyed getting to experience the ride, o. A old Indian “Burt”and the COLD factor …Looking forward to more interesting videos …
Take care my Friend 👍🏼
On these era bikes at highway speeds, you have to snap the throttle off ever so often for the oil flow.
I really like vintage bikes. Sean, you're riding much better. Keep up the good job and stay safe.
Thanks, will do!
That Burt Munro movie the world fastest Indian is the movie that inspired me to ride motorcycles 👌🏻 amazing movie even to this day i still rewatch it.
I am LOVING the new content and frequency! Keep up the good work guys!!
Thank you! Will do!
Nothing to say, it's like a real ghost rider motorcycle, abandoned as a curse 😂😂😂😂
Me, A classic enthusiast myself. so much joy seeing your vids with classic bikes. keep doing it. if you have bikes you will throw into the garbage. Pls dont. send it here.
The question is not if you can make it home, is if your wife will accept your explanation on how much you need another bike.
hahaha she doesnt know about most of my bikes. i have a secret bat cave
....like...that matters?
You can never have too many motorcycles. Especially Indian motorcycles. That’s like saying I have too much money!! A good woman who supports your passions will accept a bike like this. A working driving well maintained 1948 Indian. Hell yeah!!
The perfect number of bikes is how many you currently have plus 1 more. Works wether you have 1 or a 100!
I don't have a wife, so I can do what ever I want. I own 4, but only 1 is ridable at the moment. The others in various states of rebuilding. Picked up an ebike, which is pretty fun, almost as good as a small dirt bike.
Great to see you & Burt make it home, congratulations on 1M too, Rj in Oz
Yes! Thank you!
34° F is not even below zero in C but wind chill does make it colder
I started watching this channel about a year ago before I started riding. Now I scour marketplace for cheap/non running bikes with titles in good condition. Started In summer when everything was over priced. Built my own 125 out of an old Yamaha frame. Now I'm ridinf a 750 Kawasaki I paid 800 for. I even got a motorcycle low loading trailer for 300 $ at a yard sale. Winter has come and I'm ready to buy for spring resales and good riding :). Thanks for all the inspiration. Cheers from Idaho
This is the one you should restore to mint stock condition from its current rat-bike status. I'd leave the modern ignition though.
I feel your pain in the cold. A week ago today I rode 258 miles round trip to trade a V-Strom for a H-D Wide Glide. The high temp for the day was 28 degrees. There was only one stop for gas. It is so good to see a guy as adventurous, maybe crazy as myself to prove to my wife that I am not alone!
hahaha very cool !
Being your in Australia have you heard of the rock band FuzzPilot? Their co-founder/lead singer Shawn Trainer is an old friend of mine.
This channel, along with the bearded mechanic, is steps away from being the reason i started riding. Keep doing what you do!
Thanks, will do!

I love you Spirit of Adventure. When I was a young man I did Many Adventures myself. Once took me 3 days to get through Texas in January for an ice storm. When you get older, I say old is 65 you're sure appreciate having done that. Keep your faith and that bike between two wheels. Emmanuel
My dream vehicle is here!!
Btw, Am thinking of getting into Crypto currency investment and I'm planning the future cus I'm investing $2k into it.
@Chaboya Chaboya Wow!! You know him too? Well his well known in the UK and his stratagies are really good...
I really what to do work with him how can I get his number if you don't mind sharing it with me please 🙏

That was a Great Find Sean. I’m surprised it actually ran that good. Thanks for the Words of Wisdom and be careful out there.👍👍❤️
Even though I may never be able to have adventures as such I throughly enjoy yours! Thank you so much, Sean! Love you, bro!
My pleasure!!
You’re a brave man for riding these old (and original) bikes home, but I’m sure living life on the edge like that keeps you feeling alive.
I just found your channel and I'm loving it, in this video I noticed you were about 20 minutes from where I live. It's cool seeing a big YT channel showing areas you frequently ride by. Keep up the great content that I'm about to binge watch.
it was a blessing that you fixed the coil wire. it could of sparked.
That best line is where I bought my first motorcycle :) Glad it made a guest appearance.
I can appreciate your cold weather ride. I have done some cold weather riding and it really taxes the body. Great video and a sweet old bike
I love these old classic buy and ride home videos. Must be so fun and challenging. These bikes are so cool 😎
So glad I found this channel! Awesome content with the old bikes!
Got my first bike today, im 17 and ive been watching your channel for a while and i really appreciate the variety of content you have to offer
What did you get ?
@@BikesandBeards a honda xr 125 2020
0:32 "Don't pull the pin, I don't know if it has a shell in it" lol..a little absurd to an Aussie. This bike is amazing though
Hahaha America 🇺🇸
What a beautiful bike. And that movie is an amazing story of heart! Like riding a bike home in the winter!
When you mentioned the Movie, it unlocked a memory from when I was little watching that with my Dad! I love the name!!!!
Jeezus, this is totally badass. Bike had a horse shoe on its back, hand print on it and just to top things off, a sling with a frickin gun in it...Owner must've been a heck of a character. I especially dug the leather coverings on the tyres, makes it really look like a chief!
Also Im writing this comment being less than a minute and a half in the video..great stuff guys
nice
The movie you referenced to is 1 of my favorite movies of all time. Perseverance at its best.
Reminds me of the adventures of my brother and I.
Your the real McCoys
God bless
Your videos have been slapping lately, I love them!
First bike ever rode was and old Indian Chief.. I'm 66 and ride and old low rider Harley. I've been riding for over 50 years. I love your channel I hope you make it to wheel's thru time in Maggie valley N C. It's the top motor cycle destination. Keep up your great work two wheels down and gone.
wow youre spoiling us with both the HD and now a classic indian
Such beautiful bikes. I spoke to an older man in Austin who's Dad owned the Indian dealership there. He said that corporate made some really bad decisions, including proprietary fasteners that alienated their customer base. At the time we spoke , he was restoring only a few Indian big bore flatheads for some customers with deep pockets. IIRC, Indian shut down around 1953-John in Texas
Sounds nice for an old bike. Easy starter and great lights too.
Absolutely love that you named the bike Burt super fitting.
Love seeing the antiques on the channel!
