I find it strange how Ben forgot to mention Callum as one of Lexi's parents. It seems that even Jay wasn't comfortable with this and had to say that Callum should be counted too.
This entire EP was spit in Callum's face. Callum is only Lexi's father in the mentions. And they probably just mention it so it doesn't get too weird or remind you that the character exists. His character and his relationship with Lexi were completely erased. This year they made a point of highlighting that Lexi's parents are Jay and Ben. So much so that in this ep they had Lexi talk about Jay being her dad number two.
I've read a lot of comments about the underrated character of Callum, it's better that way than what Ben's character is going through, I've never seen characters feel so much pain in my life, he's broken in every series, it's very painful for me to watch, he's always sad. even when laughing...
I see people complaining about callum being sidelined… is this eastenders saying that callum will be potentially exiting the show in the near future?🤷🏼♂️ or will ben & callum both leave together happily ever after. Callum is a difficult character to write for mainly because of his job. Like jack, we really only see them in the police station or on the square with their partners (denise/ben/family) The police station isn’t situated on the square like other businesses, which makes it difficult for callum to interact with others. Also with him working long hours the show needs to be realistic in a way that callum cant be in every scene. I just hope whatever happens, ben and callum will remain together as they both love each other, regardless if they are on the show or not
He's actually a pretty easy character to write. Jack is also a cop, and he's had longer and more meaningful scenes than Callum has had this year. Callum doesn't work 24 hours a day (although sometimes it seems that way). And most of the time, this question of his work goes very much according to the convenience of the script. Sonia also works in a job that requires a lot, and she also appeared more than Callum. He really can't be in every scene, but there are scenes he could have been in that he wasn't. That's just the way he's always been treated. If that was the issue, they could simply make the character have another job.
@@mechellemybell1000 Yes, but I was referring more to this year (should have specified). And it just goes to show that when they want the character to have more screen time, there's no job that prevents that.
It’s clear imo that Lexi calls Callum by his name and not dad & she’s comfortable with that. That’s why she asked Jay if he was her dad 2 & jay said she can call him whatever she wants. She then said that she’s more comfortable with calling him just Jay - just like she calls Callum just Callum. I hate this storyline 😂 … but she only wants to call her DAD by the title dad.
@@justaperson2222 I’m not denying that this entire storyline is weird and dumb and not planned or thought out well. I hate it. Especially because it didn’t need to be like this! I’m not making excuses for the facepalm that it is. Still I think it might just be them showing she only calls her dad “dad” because that’s who she sees as HER DAD. Not Callum. Not jay. But Ben’s insecurities are so extreme that he can’t atm even notice that she loves him “the most” because he is her dad.
Chris clemshaw really hates tony clay. Did he steal his girlfriend or something? The disrespect to that actor and character is disgusting. Get jon sen back, at least he liked ballum considering it was all his idea.
dad 2 aka callum is right there. the disrespect 😢
Something we both agree on.
my heart breaks for tony. his character always gets sidelined. he deserves so much better.
I always say "bless him" for staying on a show where his character is completely undervalued.

Callum is so sweet on the show!!
Lexi looks good with her hair down
Yeah it’s good for a wee change she always has it up in plaits
Callum has the understanding and patience of a saint. Honestly this is one of the worst storylines in the show. His treatment has been appalling.

Love Ben and jays relationship and also Ben and lexis as well so cute ❤
Dad 3. It's right there
Three Men & the Little Lady seems more apt, especially since that was the name of the sequel
Coronation street did the same thing and it was just as awful.

@@ninoj3774while I do agree re needs more Callum. Jack was sidelined for years and just jumped out of bushes and such complaining about the Mitchells.

But she has called callum dad 2 several times. dont make excuses for homophobic writing

Go watch jay and Ben relationship then talk shut abt him

Jay needs to stop being selfish and move on from Lola and find a girl his own age.
