When I came to Germany the first thing I noticed was, every time an elderly person dies, the relatives throw away everything, furniture, clothes, shoes, lamps, carpets, etc... because, as you said, they have their own junk and don't want more.
Ramsey is right about credit cards, too. It is proven people spend more when they use them. The company makes money off customers, whether you get "rewards" or not. I have chosen to not participate in predatory business practices. I will not enjoy free "rewards" paid for by the family who can't make ends meet.

@@UpYourArsenal hahahaha you’re not worth my time. Credit cards can also be used for work expenses if you travel a lot for work for example and have to purchase hotels, Ubers, etc. why not get 2-3% cash back on those pre planned purchases by your employer.

Back when everyone was getting their covid relief checks, I did the opposite of everyone and used it to pay down my student loans. Everyone thought I was crazy. Did I wanna buy cool stuff? Absolutely. But here we are now where those same people became stressed when student loan payments started back up and I had paid mine off. Now all that extra money goes to saving and investing.
We in the US are a capitalist country that forgot to raise our children to be capitalists. You just can't make this stuff up. Finance should be a middle school class. If you make it to adulthood without a deep and abiding interest in these matters then you may wish to avoid retirement ruination by moving to a country that's far more forgiving and accommodating toward your shortcomings.
My wife & I are not normal and never were. 62 years old, no debt and never worked more than 15 hours a week. Just live below your means and you will have a lot of time 🕰️ for a satisfying & exciting life 😜

It’s messed up. Even solid oak is disposed for trendy plywood.
@@dukeofearlyretirementyes, really sad. I got all my furniture that way, from people who wanted to throw it away because the style was "old".

I save around 60-65%. But I live in China, so I also get to eat out every day and take taxis everywhere as well.
Yea give America the ability to take Ubers and eat out everyday while saving 65%. That would be incredible.
@@andrewsnyder9262 They'd have enough saved to pay for the medical bills.
How much do you make a year?
Less than 100K. Maybe after I'll reveal the exact number when I'm done with my job.
I would have never guessed you cut your own hair 😂

Can I be the Prince?
I don’t see why not.
You make a great point but it sounds extremely boring and lacking in life.
Maybe. But normal is boring, isn’t it?
