I've finally found some time to make a quick look video at the Apple CarPlay for Sensus on the 2016 Volvo XC90.
Your video was very informative and helpful. You just saved me $300 but not upgrading the Sensus in my 2016 XC90 to Apple CarPlay. Thank you!
Does the apple maps show any of your favourite locations when using car play?
what kind of updates will they offer for Sensus in the future? Do you happen to know or did they tell you maybe when you bought it? Great videos! Make sure you make them engaging!

You can enable Bluetooth with mobile internet, this way you can connect sensus with internet automaticallyand your Google Music or Spotify can be streamed automatically.
Is AppleCarPlay available with the Volvo v70 o XC60?

My 2016 Volvo XC90 does not have Apple car play - they said I have to pay 450 to install it

There is a kit from Volvo for 2016 XC90s that gives you Android Auto and Carplay if you only have 1 USB Port. It took me 4 hours to install the USB hub and cable, but I still needed to pay the dealer $350 for the 2 software downloads. Now it works!
You really forget to show the best feature of CarPlay. Its Siri. Its the voice recognition. It's not the limited Apps. Forget that. The best feature is to press Siri an tell her where to navigate or to make a call. You can speak like you want and Siri knows all your contacts. You painfully showed, why people don't get why CarPlay is so amazing.
+Dennis Kröger Sorry, but all those features you listed are available in Sensus when connected to an Android or iOs device, plus many more. As I said in the video, in Sensus, CarPlay brings little new to the table, and the most relevant features already work better in Sensus. CarPlay in this application is in many parts limited compared to Sensus. I'm sure CarPlay is "amazing" in other cars that don't have infotainment systems on par with Sensus. But as I stated in the video, Sensus works better than CarPlay in the XC90.
Thats true. I only ment that the voice recognition of Siri is far more better than in any cars own system. And I am fully on your side that it sucks not to have navigation in the HUD for example if you use apple maps etc. Thanx for the video by the way.

The true beauty of systems like this and Google maps is the business listing information. Just say "navigate to this place" and it takes you straight there. It's great when I'm in the car, about to go to a meeting and I just say the business name or I tap the link in my calendar and Android Auto just loads it in maps".
