I love how when Odysseus wants to be friends, his line feels more like a suggestion, raising his hand for a high five confirmation. But in this one his son directly states "you're my friend now" as if Athena just doesnt have a choice lol
I love the statue you added to the backstory for Telemachus and Athena. It really gives us a sense of vulnerability that Athena is scared to show, but despite outward appearances, she still deeply cares for the people she encounters.
Yeah, this song really shows that she does care deeply about people, just has a hard time realizing it and understanding how much the people she meets affects her life

I always felt sorry for Argos the dog as he waited for Odysseus to come home and died soon after he returned. But actually Argos would have spend those years with Telemachus, playing, hunting, chasing stuff, so not that bad a life for a dog. It's also my head cannon that when Argos dies, he reaches the Underworld and Hades declare him to be 'an extremely good boy' and adopts Argos as a friend for Cerberus.

Argos probably was active in the younger part of Telemachus' life, but at this point he well over 20 years old and solidly in the ancient category. Im sure there are variations, but I think more than a few of them mention he is just so old and tired he can't do much and is even mistreated by some of the suitors. Which just makes it all the more heartbreaking that he waited for Odysseus and after getting to see him one last time, finally let go.

I was waiting for someone to make an animatic for this one cuz this for real is my favorite song in the whole musical. As the 3rd biggest Athena defender (Next to Ody and Tele) this song was my biggest “SEE?! SEE?! I WAS RIGHT!” To people who said Athena didn’t care about Ody, Athena cared about him since they first met. It just took this long for her to really acknowledge to herself as a goddess of war and the mind she did. Logic has trouble understanding the matters of the emotion even if their intertwined, see god games for that. But there’s a reason Ares, Athena and Aphrodite are all associated with war. The mind, heart and will all power conflict, as opposing forces they all can’t exist without one another. Here, Athena talks about Odysseus's light going dark and Telemachus advices her on how to get his light back and, in doing so, returned Athena's light. Also, the piano at the end of this song plays "legendary" instead of "I wanna be legendary" which Telemachus's full motif. I like to think this means Telemachus has become Legendary now (as opposed to only wanting to be).
This is my favorite song from the new saga. I love how its so simple, so you got to focus on all the facial expressions and really get the emotions in. Amazing animatic!
