Glad to see another Ranger and looks like it is flying well. I went with the K-102 also and almost wish i did the K-120 haha. Im glad you touched on how extensive the maintenance should be and the good preflight habits.
The builder made a rookie mistake on the fueling system. Never use wirewrap(tiewraps) to secure fuel lines. These should all have proper safety wire securing the fuel tubing connections.
Nick- I do believe that dad actually put those on there when he moved the tank one time, that’s not on Kris. The funny part is dad knew that it was wrong, but continue to do it anyway because at the time he didn’t have safety wire or pliers lol thank you very much for pointing it out though :)
One question i wanted to ask regarding your transition to turbine jets: did you first fly EDF jets also or not ? If you did fly EDF jets then what would be the most stable EDF jet to start with in your opinion ?
I did fly several EDF, and the most fun was the Horizon 80MM F16. Very stable, and capable of high alpha, but also could get hairy if you feel froggy! Also love the FMS Rafale, also 80MM. Crashed it, but it was because I was becoming so comfortable with it I just got too crazy with it. The Futura is the most popular I see with those who are transitioning, it’s stable, but can be fast.
The Eflite Viper 90 is hands down the very best EDF jet on the market for beginners, it's an excellent all-around flyer, with 130-140+mph speeds, super forgiving on landings with no negative tendencies. Highly regarded and recommended.
Well said. certainly getting into gasoline/jets/turbines... Is a whole other level of RC, to be taken seriously as they can pose a danger to property and other people should things go wrong. Price wise... Ouch! Next any mistakes, minor crashes repairable things will be costly as well. Info is NOT readily available form the companies that provide the airframes or the turbine engines. Some sort of basic manual and a whole lot of figuring out by the builder.
Thank you! It is another level entirely for sure, but it’s the money that scares people. The aircraft is doable for anyone with moderate experience to concur, but it takes persistence and repetition. Thanks for watching, we truly appreciate the support!
Hey Martin, we specifically didn’t advertise the price incase of fluctuation in the future. Today, our build price was $7200 which was turn key to include RX. Built with the Kingtech K102G4, all associated servos mentioned and a turbine waiver training session and signoff. He can be contacted at wwwftrcusa.com for more info.
Nice work guys! I haven’t flown my Ranger in a minute. Definitely motivated to get it back in the air 😉
Thanks Dan, it truly is a great flying model!

We agree! The option for the K85 seemed like it would be underpowered for our short grass field, and we are very happy we chose the K102!
This is our first video and we are still learning alot about audio ect. We have some great content coming, and we get better at editing each time.
Nice video guys. I have subscribed. Looking forward to following along 👍🏻 🇬🇧
Thank you for subscribing! We appreciate the awesome feedback!

Yup, that was on me! I did change it and safety wired all fuel connections. Sharp eye!:-]] -Mark
