Great Lakes GL7, Part Two! Mark is asked to fly a nice easy demo.... but didn't quite get the memo!
Hi if Ryan is looking for any spare parts for his plane he bought from tail slide i have wings stabs landing gear and a rudder from one I wrecked w wing bags pass the word thanks
Thanks! He actually sold that to move to a AJ Laser!
hey mark and nick are you still coming to the event in tabor city
I plan on making a trip out there tomorrow, or Thursday.
thinking about getting the atom, what are your thoughts? Have a kingtech 160 for it.
Atom is our next jet, and we will be doing a build video on it! KT160 would pair nicely with it! We have seen it up close and in flight and are blown away at its performance. It’s got our vote!
why fly with a gyro in the giant scale? i get it with the small foamies etc, but why 50cc and up?
That’s a good question, a gyro can do a lot of things today, and the beginner ones will even help you stay level and even help you land. When you get more advanced, gyros are not setup to help fly the plane, but rather help make it more enjoyable by smoothing out maneuvers. On larger aircraft the gyro will not prevent you from overbanking etc, but more over acts as a shock absorber, like in a car.
Congratulations so awesome 🤩
Thank you 🤗
Looks like you had a great time guys, hope to see you at Fall Nall!
This Texas boy wants to come to this event, mainly so I can pick on Mitchell Wambach!
It’s an awesome event! 11 hour drive for us and we have gone the last two years in a row.
Really nice! I’m enjoying your videos a lot! Greetings from Sweden! 🇸🇪
Awesome Andreas, thank you! We really do enjoy putting them together and bringing all of you on this father, son, and friends journey with us! We truly appreciate your support!
Just don't get me started with Tire World! LOL Buy a portable compressor, it's cheaper!
We laughed it off, but it was very annoying!
25+ years ago, I used to fly RC. I did some cool flights with Video down links; Now that stuff is normal. Love the "flights" Gotta love any company with a foosball table in the cafeteria. I'd like to hear more about the job as well as more RC. Good Jobs!
We have had conversations about adding some full scale into the channel, but we have decided to keep it hobby related. Some full scale might be added to our membership Facebook page and will be more private content to avoid possible work related issues with publishing that type of content. Thanks for watching, we truly appreciate the support!
hanger rash happens to everyone! if the goal is to last forever, Never FLY! You do great!
No truer words! Thanks for watching!

Great videos, the coveringthat is now being used is not ultarkote. Very bad copy and MFGs seam to have taken a step back to the very low temp junk used years ago. Problems with the covering sticking to itself and the clear cover coming off is a norm now.
good flying nick
im super good at 3d on sim
You did good!
and some planes
Cool
tony my stepdad got some da 50 for sell in our shop
Nice!
hey mark and nick in your video intro your logo video how do you make it im just now learning how to edit and you should come to my flying club in north Carolina
Hi, thanks for your comment! So we had the logo animation done years ago when we owned a hobby shop called Hobby Xtreme. The logo was designed to help us advertise our product line videos, you can still see those @HobbyXtreme which is the original UA-cam channel for the store. Unfortunately we lost access to that channel after the store closed and we were forced to start a new channel, HobbyxtremeRC.
The flying was very impressive. The plane was fabulous; no words for it. But the pilot was absolutely sinking in it. Can you tell me how I can start learning to fly the RC? As a beginner, I was doing things on my own. Suggest something from where I can start the learning. Thank you.
Thanks for your message! We would suggest trying to find a local RC club by you and become a member there. The best way to learn is with someone teaching you. If that’s not possible we recommend looking into a trainer RC aircraft from Horizon Hobby that has SAFE technology. Welcome to this awesome hobby!!
@@hobbyxtremerc will try that. thanks for suggestion hobby
Very nice!
Sweet jet.
Thanks!
Nice flying from what I can see of it .... try the zoom in & out works well.
Thanks! It was Ryan’s first time behind the camera, he’ll get better!;-))
@@hobbyxtremerc my bad 😉
lol, no it’s valid criticism! ;-)
I was thinking the whole time . Man I wish I could zoom in.. ill take that 100 my fault. I've been waiting for someone to say something.. thank you and I will get better at it
@ryandavis5321 you get there ... they fly a lot, keep the videos coming 👏
Glad to see you finally doing good on JETS ! UAT is normal and on gyro lower your Expo value when Cortex is active, all normal things. Congratulatios ! (Did you took off tailwind? 😁😁)
Thanks for the comment Adrian! It was a tailwind but only about 3kts, at my field it’s safer and easier to take off that way due to tall trees at the other end. Thats the main reason I take off that direction and land the opposite.
Adrian, does the cortex have its own expo or do you mean in the radio?
@@hobbyxtremerc I mean on the Tx you must turn down expo values, Gyro has sort of expo feeling added when activated. So tune down the expo value lower depending on gyro gain. (for me usually half of it with Cortex) I have seen gyro off values of 45% on some pilots and 30% with gyro on. But it depends on pilots taste. My gyro off rarely exceeds 30 % .....
Awesome, thanks for the tip!
Take out about half of your expo and go from there the cortex has pre programmed expo! I fly with Dan and Greg all the time and they helped me with my cortex in the same manner
Thanks Joe! I’ll do that and try it. Truly appreciate the tip.
@@hobbyxtremerc anytime!
Does the V2 have the wing tip options like V1?
It does actually, but this plane was the actual prototype they used to test the plane before production so I don’t have those tips. I think the whistle you hear from flight is from those tip tanks, but I also LOVE the lights, so not a bad trade off I think.
I have air in my jets UAT as well, usually not an issue.
Yeah, it hasn’t been a problem so thanks for the confirmation on that.
Looking good! Hope to see you guys at fall nall!
Wish we could Brian, but not this year unfortunately. We will definitely be there next year though as well.
Great content!!! sad to see the crash!!! Just stumbled into your channel being that I'm currently building my first turbine jet. the boomerang ranger, going for my waiver. the honesty and the passion you both have is incredible! knowing that even an experienced pilot can have a unfortunate event happen and not let it alter his journey, but learn from his mistakes and continue on with his journey is what makes us much better pilots! I greatly appreciate your passion and your honesty, I've subscribed to your channel and intend to follow you both on this journey with hopes that there is no more unfortunate events!!! keep up the great work. hope all your flights are great!!! Robert
Thanks Robert, what a nice post! My son and I have made a commitment that we will be real, show good, and bad, and try to promote or help the industry and our followers as much as possible to help keep our hobby strong! Thank you very much for watching, and subscribing!! ;-)) -M
It would be nice to mention the locations of these events, for the non RC types.
We will work on being more specific, we do mention the locations which are reflected by their Facebook pages, but we understand your request and will be more specific in the future. Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
So awesome 🤩 lov these videos
Thank you very much we really appreciate it.
Amazing awesome 🤩 and the light up night plane so cool
We agree!
Well done Nick !! The intro that is ...
Nick is getting better every video. It’s a learning process, and also from feedback from out viewers. Dont be afraid to tell us what you would like to see done better, we use that info to grow! Thanks for watching.
Ya that part comes easy to me doing the fun stuff with music. I’m still learning to shoot enough in a way that tells a good story but I will get better:).
@@hobbyxtremerc❤
Flying the night tundra a few beers in. Yep. That sound fun! 😁
Just one or two!;-)
Does the new ranger have a larger elevator ?
No, it’s the same size, but the pre installed elevator is now composite and does not have any gap between elevator and stabilator, so it’s more effective and requires less throw.
I hope Ryan remembered his to bring the correct wings this year.
He did!!! Lol
Awesome, next time in Michigan, I'll have to come & meet you guys 🤜🤛
Absolutely! we would love to meet you :)
Thanks for the great video, maybe I'll see you at Nall in the Fall.
Thanks Brian, we are not planning on fall Nall this year, but we are going to be at the Hanover Fun Fly Sept 6-9th.
Another Awesome video, You guys are having too much fun! lol
Yes we are, thank you for the feedback and support!
I love Makers Mark too ,can't wait to do the tour. As for lipo battery, mine drained and took the charge. Thanks for sharing is caring 😊 👏👏👍
If you do the tour as for Ethan, he’s awesome! The bike actually did charge and looks like it’s fine, but it did make me nervous ! Thanks for watching! -M
It was great meeting you guys!! 🤝🫡
You too! We hope to see you next year and bring your jets!!!
great video. Thanks for sharing.
I can't afford any RC anything with Biden idiots in charge. Vote Trump/Vance and Make RC Great again!
There is plenty of politics in every day life. Let’s not bring it into our awesome hobby.
Why don't you include exhaust with the engines?
We asked him this question off camera, his response was we would need to outsource that and we are proud of having DA 100 percent American made. We can’t verify that claim, but it is what he said.
Awesome vid boyz! See ya' at GL!
Can't wait! Thanks for the support!!
Service is above and beyond. However… shipping to and from Canada is extremely high. Double the cost of the actual repair. Gp has service in Canada. Dessert Aircraft needs to work on a service centre in Canada. To keep the shipping price down. A service centre in Canada can then bring the product to the US border and also pick up orders at the US border eleminating huge shipping costs
We can imagine that’s a disappointing disadvantage for our Canadian neighbors! GP is also a great engine, we fly them too!
Rumor was they are doing more work for drones and aerospace so rc engine manufacturing was lagging…wonder if he’s owns just the DA part or the whole company
Actually we spent a lot more time off camera with Bryan and he told us about that. Our understanding is he ownes the entire company and we were invited to tour the manufacturing plant in Arizona but have yet to hear back from DA to schedule.
"A nose heavy plane flies poorly... a tail-heavy plane flies once"
That’s a good way of saying it! No truer words;-) although slightly nose heavy is ok, way nose heave will be a problem for sure! Thanks for watching!
