It is a "last student standing" type of competition. It matches up students against one another and they compete to see who can answer a question faster. Each time a student loses they lose one of their energies. Kids love it! There is also a team mode.

Gold quest is great! Have you tried "Santa's Workshop"? It is Gold Quest with a few extra features.
