@AL, GINA and Olivia, thank you for sharing, I broke my good foot last monday, i limp really wierd, rebuilding my moms porch , you post each day around 5 am, God bless you for what you do ., gives me strength.
The homestead just keeps looking better and better! Gina, May God pour out his blessings on you and your family, more than you ever dared to dream of! Happy Happy Birthday!
Al, sweep up all the leaves & put them in your compost, they will heat up the piles! Plus if the snow comes beforehand then the ground won't be so slippery! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINA
Good Morning, Lumnah Acres! My favorite soup is Vegetable Beef. I made some yesterday. I usually use anything from ground beef to prime steak as the beef; whatever I have on hand. Then just add as many vegetables as I can find in the fridge/freezer, but I always have to have cut okra, potatoes and tomatoes in mine! Yesterday's had ground beef, diced tomatoes and sauce, beef stock, onions, garlic, celery, carrots, peas, green beans, lima beans, corn, potatoes, okra and a couple of hand fulls of pasta that I bashed into smaller pieces with a kitchen mallet! Season with whatever herbs you like and add salt and pepper to taste. We had ours with cornbread muffins. So delicious! Thanks for the video!!
I just love watching Al build. I went out (a single lady) and purchased a nail gun like Al's, and am now having a blast creating things for my homestead. First it's fixing the leaky garage/shed roof and now I'm collecting all the lumber needed for a new chicken coop/run complex. Too many predators here for my girls to run loose, hoping a 30X8 covered chicken run will suit them. Thanks Al, you are an inspiration, loving my nail gun. Happy Birthday Gina, you are amazing, it's watching all you do that Al has taught you that has given me the courage to try. I love watching your channel each morning. Corn chowder sounds good for dinner, it's one of my favorites as a transplanted New Englander (NH) to Colorado.
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Gina, have a wonderful Day being well looked after by Hubby :) well after you have milked the goats of course. Post and Beams Building coming along just great.
Those goats, what a stampeed!😲 Never seen them run so fast.😀 Build is plugging along, corn chowder looks like it would hit the spot with the cold weather now. 👍
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINA. MAY GOD BLESS YOU WITH ETERNAL HAPPINESS AND LIFE. I'm so glad to see you with AL SINCE YOU STOP GOING OUT TO WORK. Plenty to do on the farm. Are you home schooling.? Hope so must keep the little one safe. Much love from Puerto Rico.🥒🌽🍆🍉🥓🥩🍗🍳🥚🍯🥕🥔🍓🍎🥬🥦👀ya.
Happy Belated Birthday Gina. I am also an October Kid, the 28th. My favorite time of year. It is 47 degrees here on Monday, October 19, 2020, at 9:26 am, and I feel too cold to go outside and work. I live in Clemmons, North Carolina. Here you folks are out in the rain and in the 20’s most days. You guys inspire me all the time to get out and work outside, Thanks, Toby

I had to write this recipe down. The recipe I didn’t even know I needed. Looks good though I have to make it this week. It’s becoming the time of year where soups and heartier meals are more appealing.
Don't always have heavy cream around so I mix 2/3 cup of whole milk with 1/3 cup melted butter. Really, it is that simple. to make 1 cup of heavy cream at home.
Mmmm corn chowder is a fav! We had pork loin slow-cooked in milk, added egg noodles & peas at the end, then carrot cake for dessert. These crisp days make everything taste better 😍
I love to watch you build. So much like my dad. He always said "if it is not true plumb and accurate it is not finished." My dad was a construction super and finishing carpenter. He did some amazing and beautiful woodwork.
Good Morning!! Heard Gina is having a birthday - Happy Birthday GINA!!! Barn is coming along so well - I even see the tractor happy!!! Greetings from Perth Ontario Canada!!!
The new barn is looking awesome. Great eye for details. 🎊Happy Birthday, Gina!🎊 Hope it’s wonderful. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏

Happy Birthday, Gina. I'm a third-generation October girl myself! Love this time of year. Hope it's a great day for you. My son got me a Ninja Foodi with crisper/air-fryer for my birthday. I've never dehydrated anything so that will be a good entry level dehydrator. I love how easy it is to use. Can't wait to try some of your recipes.

Can you pin the mower deck up ? there should be a "U" channel under the tractor that the lift arms go into. there is a hole in the "U" and the lift arm that you can put a lynch/clevis pin through it.
An idea for a winter project would be to build yourself some clean out bins you can move around with the tractors forks. You often are moving lighter weight but bulky things that fill the bucket of the tractor so a box with 3 fixed walls and one removable sectioned wall would make some jobs easier on you like placing inside the greenhouse then backing the tractor out so you can close the doors or setting next to a clean up project and still having the tractor for another job at the same time. A spot for some chains to secure it to the tractor for dumping would make it easy to use too. With some wagon style wheels on it you can even get it into spots the tractor itself can't and then just tow it to a spot you can lift and dump/rake out.

70 for your Birthday ,Gina?! Hope its a fantastik year for you.If I was nearby I'd bake you a Rhubarb Custard Cake.I have not seen Rhubarb on your property.Consider planting 4 in a nice sunny spot. Peace from frosty MN
Yes we need to plant some rhubarb
I will suggest Chipmans Canada Red if you can find it.One can start Rhubarb from seed as well as crowns
How can anyone stomach Rhubarb? My Granny loved it!
@@susansharphaynes555 😂many people love the tartness and often mixed with strawberries for sweeter tasting pies and cakes.
I could smell the soup being made: onions,garlic,bacon...always good. Your carrots look great! The whole farm is full of energy!
Al, do you have plans to do a root cellar, or is your walk-in fridge going to be large enough when the high tunnel is in full swing? How come you haven't shown us what things are like in there in ages?

Happy You Were Born to be a Blessing Day Gina!
Like my neighbour the pastor says, “You can get 90% of a barn done in 10% of the time, but the remaining 10% of the barn takes 90% of the time! The devil is in the details.
So true, Al! So true.
Happy Birthday Gina.

You guys are doing so great!
Barn looks great and only the back to go before you start the interior part. Gina the soup looked delish and it is one of my favorite cold weather soups. Have a Blessed day.
greetings! I live in zone 8, south Louisiana about 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico
we have a small cold season only 4 months so I have problem growing the veggies that need cooler weather like Brussel sprouts, cabbage, ect... so I can feel your joy for extending your season
Good ideas!
Your carpentry is so exact that you could measure and precut the bottom battens I think.
Larry tait - Less work as he cut out the measuring with same result!
@@tonygrimes13, Al was pretty fast but, he had to work kneeling down, but he could have cut four or five a time on his mitre saw against the stop block, with no low cutting required
@@LarryTait1 but knowing how Al works he would have measured each board individually, then each batten individually!!!!
The homestead is BEAUTIFUL this morning!!!
