P.S. I loathe how UA-cam's compression handles film grain effects. I made it look very nice just for it to get Vaseline smeared all over it. - Фільми й анімація
Holy hell!
The redesigned characters, the rough (but not sloppy) looking edges, the expressive and buttery smooth movements, the facial expressions. This is fucking fantastic in every way!
Absolutely love your animations!
Jimmy Davis Fitting Of course *you're* here. Zelda cd is og poop material.
Wow, this is really beautiful. It reminds me so much of Thief and The Cobbler. Or King of Id comic strip.
Or Nasrudin, Richard William's original project for The Thief and the Cobbler.
@@JojoMonReturns91 That too.
I was gonna say that! But you are right!
R.I.P., Richard Williams!
Richard Williams was a BEAST! The way he employed 3D simulated camera movement in hand-drawn animation was radically unlike what anyone else was doing and had done since. His completed animation for The Thief & the Cobbler deserves more love and RIP Richard Williams too.
@@mcpootis7796 I can agree with ya, more then ever. I was amazed when I found a copy of The Thief & the Cobbler. At such a young age I was. It was truly a work of art. (That I had skip those weird sometimes off-key musical parts, multiple times. To enjoy it even more.)
okay 7 hours later and I can give off a full detail on why I love this so much:
1) The energy of the animation. The animation has such a cartoonish, but natural, flow in its energy, mirroring like a Looney Tunes episode at times. This is great enough, but the inclusion of the sight gags (like the carpet skidding to a halt, and Gwonam sliding off of it, among other things) enhances the energy even more (my particular favorite bit is the very end, with Gwonam struggling to make sure his carpet doesn't just take off without him).
2) The redesigns. This may sound like a weird thing to praise on, but I absolutely love the redesigns you gave to Gwonam and Harkinian. I have nothing against the original designs, but rather I love them because the designs feel natural with the way the movement in the animation goes (and I feel like you'd have to stretch if you'd try this fluid movement with their canon designs).
3) The roughness of it. This trait feels a lot more closer to a 70's Disney movie (especially something like Robin Hood), where even though the animation is still clean, there are at times where you can still see the lines of the characters. It's probably more of a nostalgic thing that I wish animators did more from time to time, but it's still a great trait nonetheless.
I fell in love with your fifties-sixties cartoon style.
I really like it!
And this is why hand-drawn animation is king.
it looks so fun. I love how you made his entire face his beard
It’s refreshing to see classic 2d traditional animation. Reminds me of 1960s/1970s Disney style, one of my favorite art styles.
Really gotta appreciate how you did the animation as traditional as possible.
Excellent work.
definitely my fav out of the collab, idk why but character movement like that makes me laugh
Holy crap! Reminds me so much of thief and the cobbler. RIP Richard Williams
I love this so much! I really like your unique take on the character designs, and that smooth animation! Just flawless!
It took me forever to notice his turban getting swapped for a ceiling lamp when he flies up at 0:04
Very good animation man. Very good. I just love how free it is. Reminds me of a mix between Jim Tyer,Eddie Fitzgerald,Richard Williams and Loony Toons combined.
I love this! Reminds me of the xerox animation Disney did in the 60’s and 70’s!
Take note, Disney! We want this style of animation back!
Ikr
A notification from Harvey, now there's a rare sight!
Splendid timing and animation. This is straight-up classic Disney quality.
i could definitely watch all the scenes like this and enjoy them
do do do music is my favourite music, especially when there's some swanky animation to go alongside it. Can't wait to see the full reanimate!
You don't see this kind of animation anymore. It's so visually pleasing to look at.
It's so nice to see one of your animations again! I like how the wall at the beginning was hand animated and not a painted background, I thought that was a nice little detail. Keep up the good work, Harvey! :)
Incredibly stunning and beautiful! 💖
this looks like an old Disney film and i love it
reminds me of The thief and the cobbler
oh my lord the improvement from your older animations is insane!
As an avid CD-i enjoyer back in the day I just LOVE this segment! It is just art.
This scene made me laugh so hard!! I wish i could see more cutscenes aninated in your style
It has this specific oldschool style to it, it's amazing !
*YOUR MAJESTY*
I fucking love the turbant gag throughout the entire shot.
This really brings me back to the Middle Ages of Disney animation, and that's a good thing
I found you through this collab, and your art is incredible. Thank you for showing us your process!
Lot of work went into this, and the result is amazing! Great job!
Honestly I would legit pay a shit ton of money if needed to see all the cutscenes from the game in your style. Absolutely Marvelous work
I love how pissed the king is when he gets his drink taken XD
You sir never cease to surprise me ♥
Seriously, HOW ARE YOU NOT A DISNEY ANIMATOR? There’s so much more going on compared to the original clip and I love it!

Hey, you're back! It's great to see you again!
These characters look great in your style.
God, this is so good it reminds me of Disney back in the day. You know, when it was good
I’ve watched nearly all your videos, I can’t believe how amazing you are at animation, even when you were young! These animations are so smooth and cartoony, I love it.
Wonderfully animated! So much expression, and subtle energy in every frame with Beautiful background art. I Love it!
It’s so cool seeing the process of how you do scenes
I love your work, Harvey Rothman.
I like how he transitioned from his turban to one of those IKEA paper lamps.
I miss you and your artist skills.....😥😥😥😭😭😭😭😭

This is some insane animation, and I love every second of it
Wow! This is very convenient considering I've been watching AVGN again, and I just finished the episodes on the CD-i games. This looks very nice!

I love this!!
This is the content I need
Your back!
Cel animation?! holy shit i love this channel already!
It took me about 9 watches until I noticed the bit where gwonams turban gets swapped out with the cieling light
Great animation!
God is it cool to see the traditional methods of animation still used and quite masterfully, at that. Subbed
Whoa! This looks like one of those animations from the 70's and 80's!
This scene reminds me of asterix and obelix. Very nice job!
Incredible, I wish one day I get to animate like you. Very talented, indeed. I saw your bit on the Mario Bros. collab and I knew I had to sub, absolutely loved it. I'm a sucker for that old-timey 50's style animation. Keep it up!
Yeah, that one had very close Laurel and Hardie atmosphere
This is insane im so happy to see the old school process of animation!
The King has a very NFB-ish look to him!
Awesome! :)
So that's what you've been doing. Holy cow, you really know your animation.
Man I love this
For some reason, I keep thinking this was from some random cartoon I saw by chance as a kid on Saturday morning because the style feels so familiar, yet I can't put my finger on what it reminds me of.
good retrospective. reminds me of the old dreamworks animations
Holy shit this is smooth as hell
I love this
smooth!
This vid gave me MAJOR Disney vibes :D
¡COOOOOOOL! ¡TRADITIONAL ANIMATION!
Thief and The Cobbler feel to this or the Sketch Era for disney movies.
Your majesty, Ganon and his minions have disliked the video!
i love very rough and messy lines
Squadella Burger
I would love to see all the cutscenes like this
Thought this was digital; really clean job!
Lovely
Hey!!!!!! I am really glad to see you back on UA-cam. Aaah, your Music is extremely nostalgic as usual but somehow it has a modern flair to it. Hope you're doing well and I wish the very best for you.
It's like something Disney would make in the 60's
God rest his soul!
WOW you are really good at animation, lol i wish i could draw this good
Getting a lot of dragons lair vibes from this...
