I used this scene as an opportunity to practice lighting and rendering. I did end up messing up quite a bit, but practice makes perfect! I may rerender in the future, depending on my schedule.

@@linusre4298 yeah i do, apperently she is actually fairly muscular, in one a recent episode, the one were they fight the sccubus and the incubus, I remember Matt saying her build is actually the same as Fjord's (or very similar) and that she is just shorter
this is AMAZING. I know everyone is raving about the eyebrow waggle (which is lovely) but the whole segment at 0:33 ("blink once...") is just masterfully executed with the expressions and the body language!! just! WOW!
Thank you so much! I really enjoy trying to figure out the best acting choices for the character, and I had a lot of fun with this one. It helps that Laura Bailey is such a good actress!

They do random animation stuff... I bet they could be convienced to start subcontracting for animations of specific moments. Battle could be drawn style animation. Where as you could do the comedy ones. Cause you've got some damn fine timing and expression/body language going on.

Thanks a bunch! I definitely recommend it. I haven't seen Campaign 1, but Campaign 2 (where this clip is from) is awesome.
10/10 would recommend season 2 of critical role
Season 1 is amazing too
Season one starts in media res, but there's no flashbacks. You'll need to search for the previous lore a bit. Some of the episodes have a summary of each of the characters, which helps. Best to start with Season 2, and then watch Season 1 when you're finished and waiting for new episodes, I think.
Also i mostly listen, and it's still great. So that helps solve the problem of finding hundreds of hours to sit in front of a computer or smart TV to watch. They even have a podcast version, so that's nice.
If you go in the comments of the first episode of the first campaign one of the top comments has linked a recap of everything that happened to the party before episode one. They also clear some other things up.
This is spectacular! the constant attempts to look into the room through slits in the door is such a Jester move
She actually did do that in the episode. This skit goes on a bit more

I cant help myself! I keep clicking on this video and hitting “replay” multiple times because it is so INCREDIBLY cute! Both the voice acting and the wonderful animation which PERFECTLY fits the character and situation!

the face she makes when she asked if Claudia was having sex made me die laughing for about 5 minutes

hopefully we won't need to kickstart a second season. I'm guessing with the massive amount of money raised for this kickstarter, Netflix or Amazon or something will pick it up.
@@tylerdurham6091 I hope they will not go that way. Working with a big corporation behind you, watching every single move you do might be an issue when you are a part of a creative bunch.
@@GrimmerPl Netflix and Amazon have a good track record though. There's really no reason to be worried as far as I can tell, and it's really the only way to get a continuous series. There's just no way they can continuously kickstart this thing. They received an amazing amount of support, but I don't believe they could do this again with anywhere near this success. People only have so much money to give. I'd also point out, they initially took this to companies but had a hard time explaining it to them. Critical role wants to make this a regular thing I think, and now that interest has been proven it's going to be a much easier sell.
They are definitely going to go to a company for support, but with the kickstarter proving just how much we want this show, they’ll be able to make it on their own terms instead of the company’s.

One day i saw this on twitter as a video. I eventually saw it here on youtube and got myself stuck down a rabbit hole of critical role animations and animatics, knowing nothing about the show or it's stellar cast. Now I'm catching up to the 104th episode of season 2 and i find this in my recommended again. This little animation right here started me on a journey i never expected I'd go on.
Thank you for your phenomenal work that served as a gateway drug to one of my new favorite shows!

Great work. I love the acting. While vivid, it's not overdone in a way that seems unnatural for Jester. A lot of 3D animators seem to have the need to over-animate every sentence or beat, but I love how you kept it subtle with just expression changes etc👍

Wow this whole this is amazing. I've tried working with C4D and I could barely manage to make one object move. I can't even imagine how crazy all the movements, like the fingers, were to keyframe. It's super hard. Props to you!
