I want to learn more. I finished all the Hiragana alphabet, not I'm tackling Katakana, but I have no one to practice it with.
Terrific video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.

Thank you for the video! I've been self studying Japanese for about 9 months now. I've learned a lot but of course there's still so much more to learn. I lose motivation sometimes but I come back to it because I absolutely love the language. It's definitely the hardest thing I've decided learn so far in my life but I'm still having fun with it. I was wondering if you've ever felt the same? Also, because you live in Japan, has it been easier for you to absorb the language because of your surroundings? I have found it so much easier learning random bits of Japanese here and these by doing simple things like going to a grocery store. Couldn't imagine not being surrounded by it everyday while trying to learn it! Good luck on your own language journey~

I began study Japanese at a University last spring and will do the N5 test this year. My question is how you found how the moving process to Japan was? Visa, apartment?
I really wanna study or work in Japan but I find it kinda frightening to take the step.
And I am also curious about how long it took for you to feel comfortable to speak and hear Japanese?
It feels like for me that I will never understand what they're saying.

Wow thank you so so much! Good luck on the test! If you come to Japan with a company the process is easy because the company does a lot for you. It's just a lot of paperwork!
Also for your other question it changes for everyone but I took my about 4 years to be more confident in speaking

What a great review! Kanji From Zero is really super awesome. The only criticsm I have is that the kanji order starts to differ with the beginning of JFZ 4. The first 80 kanjis matched perfectly with JFZ 3. You mentioned the missing writing spots in Kanji From Zero 2. How about the "words you can write" spots? Is that also missing?

Okay, I've seen your other language videos and just realized this... all your books are "western" bound(left to right)! I'm hoping that it's safe to presume that's the common style for language books for ease of use. So I do have a question for this video. With what I perceive to be a somewhat rigid style for kanji, is there room for handwriting styles from person to person? I've always wondered that. And my question for your anniversary video is this- What part of Japanese life intimidated you coming in, only to have it turn out way easier in the end?
And as a final note, I can't believe that it's been almost five years! I'm so proud of Allen and you for coming together, making a plan, and doing the thing!!! Love your videos, and I'll definitely be here for the next one!
The only thing that's bound right to left these days is manga and light novels from what I've noticed!

Congrats on the 5 years! Are there any Japanese habits you’ve picked up that you wish America had? As an example: I’ve heard some people dig carrying around hand towels for public bathrooms in Japan rather than using hand dryers like we have in the USA.

I’m still taking my sweet ol’ time learning hiragana and writing has helped me memorize the characters too! I’ve got 30 of them down so far, but I really only study hard maybe once a week if I’m lucky? Can’t wait to have this set finished so I can move on to bigger things! 🥹
Hiragana is so fun and all that studying and writing will pay off for sure!
