Chrome and vanadium are metals heavier than iron and used to made iron products rust resistant. Basically, they are some of the key ingredients in stainless steel.
For what the wrench looked like, I was expecting a curvy blade. And at least a wooden handle. This honestly looks like a stainless steel kitchen knife.
Jake I have learned a lot from your channel and I'm really in the blacksmithing. I just had a crazy thought you should get some zgb Ivan heads to test your knives you make out on
The risk from CrV is that when you heat it, it might produce hexavallent chromium, that is both accutely toxic and recognized as a potent carcinogen. Otherwise, you can safely cut yourself with CrV as much as you like, as long as you don't bleed out. EDIT: Again, this is more of an issue with the surface chrome-plating, than with the Chromium alloyed in the steel.
We will all be waiting to see your version on your next video. Good Luck!! I advise you might want to start with something much, much simpler before cutting his work down.
I'm curious - are you 100% sure about the chrome vanadium risks? I couldn't find any references to the dangers of actually cutting yourself with one - all I saw was on grinding/cutting the material. Considering that there are various CrV knife steels out there, and that even stainless has a high percentage of chromium in it, I'm wondering if there really is anything uniquely risky about CrV.
It's nice and shiny and functional, but I just wish that you had left something "wrenchy" about it. Does that make sense? Otherwise it could have been made out of anything, and part of what makes this knife so COOL, is that it was made OUT of an antique wrench...
I'm picturing these wrenches being a perfect piece to make a Karambit from.
I love what you made
Thanks for the video and the warning at the beginning. This knife is my favorite type. Simply elegant. Highly functional as well as good looking.
This knife is really nice
Very thankful you added that first part. I had been saving cheap wrenches to maybe forge into something someday. Glad I didnt
Very nice knife

Good call on the PSA announcement. I wouldn't make a knife out if a new wrench just because of the crap steel. I disn't even think about the coating.
Wait so it’s a coating. U can just burn it al off right?
Gorgeous hunting blade Jake. Also Happy Veterans day OOHRAH !!!!!!!!!
Thats sweet. Wrap the handle with paracord.
Beautiful knife. Hit like...
Nice 🤞
7:10 it looked like a legendary fire knife
Edit: 7:13 looked like a overpowered knife
. I hit the like before watching cause I know it will be dope

Нож очень интересный. Видео тёмное как 100 подвалов.

Case XX makes chrome vanadium carbon steel blades. So his statement was quite confusing. Thanks for the clarification.
Well ...electrolisis
Très bon travail Manifique
What kind of oil when u use the belt sander?
Pretty much the same as the last wrench knife you made, just more curved.
How heavy is that yellow handled sledge?
magnifique👏👏
Another great blade. Just wish you wouldn't put music in your videos. Would be so much better just to hear the sounds of forging and grinding.
Keren .....
I want this one... What's the price for this one?
great work, but I think you missed the opportunity to turn the wrench end into a double edge like the chain saber from the movie "blade"
Beautiful and simple! My favorite so far!
Just got a box full of these, did it harden up good??
تحفة فنية
I mean hey, if it's just for self-defense then if you cut the attacker they're poisoned and then THEY die! Ayyyy
👍👍👍
Superb skills are you self taught?
Wou exelente trabajo, me gusta lo que haces, deberías probar tus armas con carne o frutas aver que tal quedó el filo y cómo funcionan.
What’s the name of the song
The curve would’ve made it unique:(
Do not forget to deliver it to my address as agreed. Thank you. You're welcome.
The music you play while making the knife what is it. It sounds like I've heard it before in a movie.
It's from a movie and it's been driving me insane trying to figure out which movie
@@tonysbarra204 I found the song but still don't know what movie it was in. The song is from the 80's. "je n'oublierai jamais"
@@washietatonka cool man thanks
Can u make a keris?
Tuyệt đẹp 👍🏅🏅🏅🏅👍
ممتاز 👍
i advise a redo on the buster sword video the hand guard is long rectangle not round.

You ruined a perfectly good old rusty wrench, LOL (just kidding). As with all your builds, it's now a very cool functioning piece of art.

I was wondering about that too

Saludos de buenos aires Argentina 😎💪🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Make KERIS KNIFE PLEASEEEEE!!!
Well you did it again, turned an ugly rusted piece of metal into a beautiful knife, nice
Do you just buy wrenches to make knifes with them?
Nice job. But to high sound of music. Cheers
It would cooper of it had a hollow grind
