Thanks, this helped me disassemble a S30 Center Speaker, especially the plastic piece. The driver is quite heavy and a pita to remove without tilting the speaker upside down.
Great speaker, fairly inexspensive. Can take big power, needs a good amp. I got the ES20, this speakers goes really low around 32hz it's kinda amzing. It sounds great spacious, and is great for rock, blues.
I just bought a set of the Euro-tuned S15e which cost me less than £100/$120 in the UK. I was impressed with the build as well, and there are minor cosmetic and x-over changes for the European market. Good job Polk. Even if they definitely aren't "American made" (made in China) they are well designed for the price.
You didn't check the solder joints to see if they were cracked after the fall. You gotta get a magnifying glass out and really check the solder joints. You sometimes can't see it bare eyed. I'm not impressed with the plastic grill on the front, either. It's just cheap-ass eye candy marketing. It doesn't surprise me the spiders feel weak. It's only 20 watts RMS, so they need to move. I was considering these, so thanks for taking it apart.
Cool, thanks for showing us the insides. I like those bookshelf theatre speakers that have some decent components

"I'm gonna go online and take a look..."
"But, sir, you're the online source for this..."

Nice job, I never would have taken it apart if it still sounded good after dropping it, but I'm glad you had the guts to do it. Nice video!

Love seeing the innards of electronic gear.
Great video. Thanks
Can you let me know if there is a machine screw in the bottom for mounting on a stand or tripod?
enclose the cat then button it all up.
that crossover is not so great... but for the price it isnt terrible
It's the usual 12dB 2nd order Xover
The new version that recently replaced these have an improved crossover. I’ve never actually heard them but that was one of the small improvements.
