- In this video, I finally visit Eastwood City, the San Francisco of the Philippines. Let's get some first impressions and explore the area.
We will check out the Eastwood City loop, both citywalk 1 and citywalk 2, as well as Eastwood City Mall. Once the lights come on and the sun heads down, the beauty of Christmas becomes present.
Stick around towards the end of the video for a surprise event on High Street in BGC.

That's right, the Gold Lights or Yellow Lights with lots of Building that you are seeing is another area in Makati.The place is like BGC and Eastwood and that place is called Rockwell where you find offices and condos as well as Power Plant Mall. Cats do a lot of cat fights at night that's why they are loosing their fur. Pets are not allowed to poop and pee in Eastwood that is why pet owners dressed their pets to wear diapers whenever they stroll with their pets along in the parks....👍

Filipinos get so obsessed about these fancy malls here in the 🇵🇭 😂 Unlike in the US malls have been unpopular for a few years now. It only gets busy on Black Fridays and during the Christmas holidays.

When you went to Eastwood city, they were preparing for the Christmas tree lightning that's why you were not allowed to take video but after that no restrictions whatsoever.

Metro Manila is really similar to Bangkok there has so much to offers very diverse MEGA CITY. here in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur the citiy are a little bit boring no nightlife and theres no much to see aside from tall skyscrapers.
Right. It is similar in terms of offering a diverse array of activities and experiences. I'd say Metro Manila has the most to offer out of any city in SEA. Maybe Jakarta or Saigon next.

Those buildings with orange lights are in Rockwell Center in Makati. I think you've been there before. It's the same area as the Power Plant Mall that you've already visited.

Eastwood vibe has changed since BGC gotten bigger and more developed. It used to be a good place to hang out, now, the vibe is like a workplace/office compound. It's quiet and not much people around. It's sad😢

If there were no such things as the homeless crisis and the bad image of San Francisco, people would say less. There are some similar feelings between the two places in terms of atmosphere, dining availability, and trolley. But nonetheless, they are different places with different names, with mostly different intentions. Comparing isn't necessarily insulting. Life is full of contrast and feels like.
Yeah, it's unfortunate that they did a profiling number on you being a bearded foreigner with cap, shades on and a phone cam. The country is on high alert after an incident in the southern part... I live here and i know these officers are really nice. Good vid of the place otherwise!

Probably the reason for having so many stores closed in this place and not in others could be due to poor management by the mall owners or rude managers managing the place. This takes away people, why would I invest my money there? Someone asked this question. (Not a final comment)

San Francisco is the size of an elephant and EastWood is the size of a beetle. You are comparing an elephant to a beetle. Is there a bridge in Eastwood? No. Does it have rivers or beach, No. Does it have bath houses? No. Does it have heritage homes? No. Does it have train tracks? No. So how is Eastwood like San Francisco. It doesnt even have a soccer field or strip clubs or a Diner.

Does it have an identical colored trolley? Does it have similar restaurants? Does it have similar atmospheres of outdoor dining and lounge areas? Does it have a mix of business, residential, and tourism? Does it have a California-themed fame of the movie industry? Is the Marikina River on the backside of it? Does it have a ferry station?
Bottom line is that they aren't the same cities and can't be the same city, one isn't necessarily better than the other. They both are unique and located on opposite sides of the International Date Line. They both share a few similar feelings for tourists. A city giving off similar vibes as another city/state/country or whatever it be isn't always a bad thing. This is UA-cam.
People who get butt-hurt about it can't swallow the fact that some things are built with accidental "alike features" and some designers purposefully copy other blueprints. Hmm Las Vegas, Tianducheng, Venice Grand Canal Mall, Osaka American area...etc..

The transportation is definitely behind but there are other things ahead of other Asian cities. Right.
