For a 10,000 Simolean starter home, that is INSANELY well done. I love stretching budgets with starter homes, but i know full well that 10,000 simolean starter homes that look nice, ESPECIALLY if they're not micro-homes, IS a hard feat. Gorgeous work as always, Kayla!
I'd love to see Kayla build a starter home with no cheats, no hotkey tricks, and no debug landscaping, but she's allowed to use absolutely any packs she wants to achieve this
Basically, building like someone who has never played The Sims before, and knows nothing about the game's secret tricks, but has access to basically every asset.
she has done this before!
She’s done this before 😊
She's tried to do the no-cheats build before, but she still accidentally did use alt-place and a couple of things like that, iirc, because she's so used to doing them that she did it almost on autopilot. A few people called it out in the comments, but of course it was after the fact.
idk why you wanna see this, it's just gonna look boring
@@baniboo those types of challenges arent for the build itself, it's for watching simsie struggle
If you could afford the extra couple of bits of wall, and doors, I'd suggest shutting off the entryway, the living room, and the kitchen/dining room, to get that authentically cosy, but tiny, cottage experience! Cottage Living goes so well with tiny home because they (in real life) are accommodations built for working class workers, so they're cramped, but when done right, also super cosy. My sister used to live in the most picturesque cottage in Wales, the walls were stupidly thick, and the tiny living room had an enormous fireplace, the windows were tiny, and you basically never got sunlight on the floors inside, but it was the snuggliest damn place!
Now I want pictures of your sister's cottage. 😂
@@sylvial6880 I wish I had any to offer! We're talking before most people had digital cameras, let alone smartphones. But it was charming, though like most cottages, also expensive to keep warm in the winter! Thank you for your sweet comment!
@@katbairwell Besides the heating problem it DOES sound charming. Such a shame that you do not have pictures. But yeah, in this time and day it wasn't so easy to take photos. I even developed my own photos at some time in school. These were the days ... *reminisces while clacking with her false teeth and waving her walking stick dreamily* 😜
@@sylvial6880 Ha! I love that! I shall join in, rattling my tin of medications, and waving my crutches in the air! I'm glad that whilst growing older is inevitable, growing up remains entirely optional!! Very best wishes of the season, to you and yours
Cottage living has got to be the best expansion pack
Seasons is also really good
I love cottage living it’s so whimsical ^^
Looooved the design added above the doors! I love when she tries something new with her builds, almost always looks good but she doubts herself a lot.
Simsie's done a LOT of budget cottages and she always delivers 🙌
I like how she casually spent 1000 on the bed then struggled rather then was buy cheaper bed
@@princessjellyfish98 meanwhile deli is over here switching up her builds every time and actually has creative juices in her body ☺️
@@adamarmstrongwrightson9258 honestly, if i was to attempt a 10k starter in Henford-on-Bagley, i'd probably use that insanely cheap double bed from horse ranch- it's one of the cheapest beds in the game and still very much cottagecore (and honestly, i kinda like it better than the CL bed)
@@abrisc32literally. i’m tired of the same old same old
@@asiaj0316 this girl is overhyped frfr
cottage living might just be the cutest pack
Same. It's cottage-tastic. 😆
10,000 simoleons! Let’s appreciate the dedication! Kayla is legendary to be able to make a cheap house look as if it costs 100,000! 😅
I can’t believe that there’s FREE bales of hay in debug that are identical to the 100 dollar ones that are seats in buy mode😭
I spent like 1,000 bucks on bales bc I put Patchy in my Reapers Rewards sims’ garden, and I didn’t like how he didn’t blend in at all, so I was like, ‘ might as well get some more bales around him to blend him in!’ ( bc he has a couple around his tree) and I spent so much money that I needed bc I just kept upgrading my house😂
So uhm yea! Ya learn something new every day that’s for sure lol
I haven’t gone through Cottage Living debug yet, bc there’s just so much in there and it’s kinda overwhelming 😅
15:47 that's so cute it kinda reminds me of traditional Norwegian rosemaling
Right?! I was thinking that too! A nordic inspired pack would be epic 🤩
thank you for making sure the plants dont clip. console players will be happy :D this house was so cutee
Cottage Living is one of my favorite packs! The style is *chef's kiss*. What a fun build to try! Kinda wanna try to do a budget build with Cottage Living now.
Someone might already mention it, but since a couple of weeks I've been noticing some quality issues with (mainly) build videos, and videos where you spin around a lot. Where just briefly every 5-10seconds the quality of the video falls/becomes more pixelated. Maybe something to do with exporting the video or video compression or something? It's not really a big deal, but sometimes it's a bit annoying especially with longer speed builds.
Does not take away the joy of the video, just something I noticed, because it was never there before!
Yeah, it is a bit annoying. But I think it has to do with Kayla's computer situation. It broke a few weeks/months ago, and she mentioned in a life stream that it still not repaired. So my guess is she is playing on a cheaper computer now which can't handle the graphic stuff as well. I keep my fingers crossed that the old one is fixed soon!
@sylvial6880 ohh I did not know that! That might be a reason. Fingers crossed for her that it'll be fixed soon!
I've noticed it too. It seems like it usually happens when the camera spins (in a build video).
Kayla, I love that your nails match your shirt. It's a really pretty color!
Didn't know it was even possible to be this early-
Lovin the cottage living whimsy, one of my favorite packs
The little garden area is SO cute!
this is adorable! you keep saying that you always do the same landscaping but it works so well, it's so lush and colorful
you probably already know this, but an easy-ish way to make sure your layered paths don't get too wide is to start with the darker terrain paint. i imagine it as all layers being the path, but the lighter bit (or darker depending on the terrain) is where people walk most often
Cottage living is def one of my fav packs for the animals alone 😭
Im planning on buying cats&dogs and cottage living for the black friday sale :D these are the first packs im getting and i did alot of research to make sure i like it
You’ll love them!
they're definitely great packs, wishing you much fun with them!
Oh those packs are awesome! Brindleton Bay is a wonderful world and playing as a vet was the first thing i did when i got the game, highly recommended! 🥰
Looking forward for the next one!
"... and also that debug landscaping" There's my girl! Thank you for always finding me a smile Kayla
Hi Kayla ☺️ Would you consider doing another really large build on a 64X64? Like the farm you made a while ago. Maybe since we have For Rent now, it could be like a neighborhood, and each house could be tailored to an occult (including the new ones)…or maybe each house could be designed around a career, which would be a fun way to use new packs and kits (like a chef, an artist, a Reaper). I think lots of us love bigger builds and long videos 😍 And it would be something a bit different
Not Kayla's video but I really love Caryn&Connie. They don't upload as often but they have a series where they're building rainbow townhouses that I recommend checking out
I love your builds. I'd like to see you play more city skylines 2 and Planet Zoo.
I love it when you build with cottage living!!! They’re always so fun.
A cottage!!! I'm so excited! 🎉
I love your build challenges, this build is soo cute too!!❤
$5 is mug money. Always remember that. $5 is mug money and they look so cute on a shelf in the kitchen or the one with the tea bag on a side table somewhere or sitting next to the sink like it needs to be washed. Just a tip for spending the last few dollars on a budget build and adding some charm. The mugs are in the Everyday Clutter Kit
This is Caryn and Connie coded 😄
@ indeed lol
Build challenge idea: “one motherlode”
I like filling my legacy save with attractive “fake townies” because I’m trying to earn achievements I make said townies in another save give them a single motherlode then put the in my library.
I give them the one motherlode so my game isn’t filled with only starter homes. A fun challenge or even mini series would be creating unique homes for townies (real or fake) using a single motherlode. Just an idea!
I love your videos! Thank you for your wholesome distractions
you don't need to actually place them in homes to have them be walking around town?
@The_Tortoise_and_the_Hare yes, I do place them into houses. That’s why a 50k build limit home rather than 20k starter would be fun. I don’t like all the neighborhoods being starter homes
A lot of debug builders use a debug light. I found them once but keep forgetting about them.
hi simsie! I bought my first expansions yesterday :) made sure to use your code ofc!
ooo whatd u get!!
Congrats!! Hope you enjoy it!
simsie idk HOW u did this and I watched the whole video
I love to see you building, love the details ❤
For your next build, could you do something with more sims?
Love your vids!
These are my favorite kind of builds because I can’t build to save my life but I love decorating so this gives me enough of a floor plan to turn it into my own! 😊 I’ve been itching to have a sim live in Henford on Bagley so I think this is my excuse!!
Lilsimsie inspires me to build and do every challenge she does 😂 I just did the collector challenge because she did
Love that I read the into in your voice 😂
I had trouble buying tickets for the stardew concert, too, for the Detroit date! I did notice that the URL I was redirected to said “Starview Valley” instead of Stardew?? I ended up being able to buy when I went through the venue’s page directly. Hope you were able to get yours!!
loooooove!!!! so aesthetic
I learned about debug from you hahah and I’ve learned a lot of building tips from you also
Just found out that you're my #1 gaming creator and that I'm in the 0,8 percent of your viewers (apparently watching u quite a lot)
Thanks for accompanying me every night and making falling asleep a lot easier for the last few years!
I feel like you would like the “cheap and chipped” pack. Its custom content and super cool looking
console players begging pc players to put life and death debug landscaping on the gallery bc we dont have access otherwise 😭
I don't think I'll ever get tired of cottages in The Sims. Maybe I should get some more CC for it.
The way I see it, TS4 has enough fairly cheap furniture you can make a home in a very small budget, now making it look good?
Yeah that's the hard part
I'd love to see kayla build a house while being restricted to what we have on console
hi simsie !! i’m thinking of getting cottage living as my first pack- i love the build style and i love bunnies/flowers etc. do you have a video that covers gameplay/items in this pack? love u girl
Loooooovvvvvveeeeee❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ it
my first sims pack was cottage living and its still my favorite!
Kayla: the car couldn’t have gotten up here
The very clear path up the hill big enough for a car: …
I got scared for a minute because I was listening to another video at 1.5 speed and when this one started, Kayla sounded kinda like a chipmunk.
I’m a proud graduate of the Simsie School of Landscaping 😂
You look so great in red!!
simsie you should rebuild the active career building for life and death!!
its so cutee :3
oh yes rags to riches HUMBLED ME.
love you girll
SUICH A CUTE HOUSEEEEE
You should do one with Eco living debug.
@@edj8008 for real! there’s a fully funcional old-timey TV I found in eco living debug that’s perfect for a cottage and it’s only 25 simoleons!
omg so good
horse ranch would be even better and horse ranch matches alot of base game stuff
Lilsimsie you should do British Council house video
Hi, guys. I comeback again! Your video content always nice
Can you do a challenge where there's a minimalist house and a cluttered/horders house side by side is think that'd be fun
FIRST COMMENT FOR THE ALGORITHM COMMENT FOR THE ALGORITHM
Um ur not first
Booooo @PotterPlays_Sims who was?
@@AspienPaddathe person who said u wasng first was first 😭
FOR THE ALGORITHM!!
@@AspienPadda Not trying to be rude or anything so really sorry if I am but I was first
Hey!! If I can get two packs (i already have seasons, cats and dogs, and parenthood) which should i get? what are the next must-haves for gameplay and cute cozy style building?
Sounds like you enjoy family and farming gameplay, so definitely Cottage Living, Growing Together or maybe Snowy Escape.
Home chef hustle, laundry day, tiny living, and romantic garden are pretty good for both gameplay and building/decorating
Horse Living is ok but I wouldn’t recommend it over the others unless you’re majorly into horses. Eco lifestyle might be fun for you, if you’re into an off the grid living, especially with Island Living
I feel like it’s the layout of the Newbies house from The Sims 1
Cheap 🐥 Cheap 🐥Cheap 🐥
Did she forget the toilet paper?? 😂
14:14 I've never understood this. Thermostats seem extremely *unnecessary* to me. I've never used one and my sims are never uncomfortable inside. Am I missing something?
Do you have seasons?
@erikasuttle409 yes!
@@LLC-zc7cp maybe it's the worlds you tend to live in or for the most part the other emotions cover the other stuff

Is there a bin anywhere?

I feel like a cheater when I use debug, I know that it’s not even that bad, but I can’t help it, I feel like it’s not something that I can use or reach for, can anyone relate?😅
Yay simsie!!!

oh i'm too early 🙊
SO EARLY
any recs on sims packs i should get???
i love simsies starter homes!! all 539 of them…😕. pls…enough with them!
lol
Hey, Simsie. I love your content!
Just a quick thought-when you describe something as ‘cheap,’ it can sometimes give the impression of low quality. Maybe using ‘inexpensive’ could better convey that it’s affordable but still good!? Anyway, sorry to be a nitpicker. You just say “cheap” all the time and I think inexpensive often better describes whatever you’re referring to.
Keep up the great work! :)
This keeps the tone positive and helpful, which is more likely to be well-received.
try something new we’re bored
no we're not
