Great request! Nice to have mockups that don't look the same as everyone else's. Thanks again, Mr. Johanson, sir. Well done. You're a good teacher.
Thanks so much!! These are kind of fun to make!
Thank You Rick for making this tutorial! you made my day.
Thanks!!
That was great Rick-
Those filter setting are so sensitive.
Thanks! And, you're right. Settings are quite sensitive!
Really nice tutorial and thanks for the shout outs!
You can adjust the Blend Mode too if you want to play with how the t-shirt shadows blends more and reduce the harshness of the shadow.
Thanks so much, Martin! That was an incredible live stream on your channel. Fun, informative, and I learned some new tricks. Sincerely grateful for your work on Inkscape.
Nice one Rick my friend - this will come in very useful Thanks!
Thanks Nik!!
Thank you so much! This is an amazing tutorial. I'm so surprised that it works on Inkscape. You are great!
Thank you!! I was surprised too! I thought it would take more steps.
Wonderful!!! I think it would be great to apply a displacement to the graphic to make it follow the folds of the fabric. You can do it in Inkscape and the result is truly phenomenal, nothing to envy of Photoshop's Displacement effect. Thanx for all your work!
I'm thinking using a Blend Mode of Overlay or Multiply on the Maldives graphic layer would do the trick of bending the graphic better into the shadows and curves of the shirt in the mock-up. I'm gonna give it a try
@@okirooju3787 with blend mode you modify only "interaction" between the colours of the different layers, but I was thinking about distort the shape of the logo to make it more realistic.
@@francescopenasa5916 I get your point. How do you do it in Inkscape? I would love to learn it. Thanks.
@@okirooju3787 1. convert the image on which the graphics will be applied (e.g. the t-shirt) to black and white, make the white part transparent (you can easily do this with the matrix effect) and export it to png. 2. apply a new filter to the logo, insert the "image" effect and select the image exported in point 1 as the source; below insert the "displace" effect and connect the bottom connector to the "image" effect, the other to the source image (the column on the right). As movement parameters select "alpha" for both horizontal and vertical.
Play with the sliders and find the right settings. Unfortunately on Mac it often crashes when I use filters in a somewhat complex way... but it can be done.
So helpful! Thank you! Could you do another video with the new version on inkscape?
NIce work @IronEchoDesign ! I'd like to ask you, how to scale logo size (dimensions) to original T-Shirt? Because if the logo will be to big then on T-Shirt would be ugly... and vice versa.. Thank you for answer.
This is a great question. Thanks. I will try to show an example or get a video together.
@@IronEchoDesign Oh that would be awesome!!! thank you in advance ❤
Wow! Thanks for this. I was thinking, what if I use a Blend Mode of "Overlay" or "Multiply" on the Maldives graphic layer, would it result in a more realistic mock-up? Would such a thing even work? Anyway, I'll just give it a try.
Very good as always. I wonder how hard it would be to actually fold/ripple the logo.
Thanks! I've wondered about that too. I've been playing with the Bend Path Effect lately, and I think it could work to add subtle folds.
I think I did something like that before, can't really remember. What I did was play with the blend mode of the graphic layer. It really gave that realistic look of bending the graphic with the shirt folds and blending into the shadows really well. I'm not really sure what I did then but I'm going to give it a try and see if it works.
hi rick, my version of inkscape cant do what you taught in the tutorial. can you make a video for version 1.2 please?
Thanks for the tutorial. Is there a way to make stickers mockup in Inkscape? If there's do a tutorial about it 🙏
Sticker mockup is a great idea. Do you have a POD platform you prefer? For the specs?
Can you do a 20oz skinny straight tumbler mockup with lighting and shadow effects
Thank you 😊
Will this process work if we want to place pattern design all over the shirt?
Thank you, Fatimah! This whole video is thanks to your idea! For all over pattern, you would need a couple extra steps. The trick would be to shape it perfectly to the garment. Rawpixel, the site I mentioned has some t-shirt mockup "blanks" where the image is empty where the shirt would be. Those could be a good solution. Let me know how it goes!
can you please make a video about the golden ratio
thank you for your amazing content!!
Thanks so much! Now that's a great idea! I'll research some examples and see if I can figure out a good presentation.
@@IronEchoDesign much appreciated
Hello Mr Johanson, great video as always! But your logo caught my eye, can you please tell us what's that font? I'd love to design a minimalist logo like that one, looks amazing. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much! I usually choose Arial Bold for the tutorials I do because most people have the font already installed. I believe the font in that circle logo is actually Inter. It's a Google font and under the Open Font License. Hope this helps!
@@IronEchoDesign Thank you so much, you're always very helpful!!
Anytime! Thanks!
@@IronEchoDesign Sorry, I should have precised, I mean your actual logo (IRONECHO) looks amazing, hahah
Ohhh! Why thank you!! That is a blend of Inter and shapes I made in Inkscape. I think the N, E, and H started from Inter. I wanted a perfect circle for the O's so I made those from scratch. The C came from cutting up the O, and the R I spent the most time on because I really wanted to get the front leg out further than any font-based R I could find. I appreciate you asking, because I probably spent too much time playing with all the spacing and sizing, but I'm happy how it turned out. I know this doesnt help answer "What font is this?", but that's where the IronEcho text logo came from.
Excellent, very helpful. Thank You...........making it very hard to shift over to Canva for designing.....:-)))))))))
Haha! Thanks! Canva is a good tool too!
@@IronEchoDesign Hey Rick, a bit off topic, is there a way in Inkscape to make something like half moon text? I'm sure it's got something to do with "fit to path" or there abouts but I'm having a blonde moment. If you have covered it would you be so kind as to direct me to that vid. Thanks
Hey Love the Content Man Keep uo the Great Work.
I have a Request as well. Can you give us a tutorial for lofi cover art.
Thank you!! I'll keep at it. Lofi aesthetic is nice. I'll play around with some ideas and see if I can get the steps down for a tutorial. Any examples in mind?
@@IronEchoDesign something like this it has lots of features that seem fun challenging ua-cam.com/video/U7sCHjHTlhU/v-deo.html
Rick, could you please make a tutorial how to make a technical drawing for fashion!🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much!!!⚘
That's an awesome idea! Firt I'm going to change my profile picture like you mentioned. Is there an exampe of the fashion illustration style you're thinking of?
Something with pockets, shadows and topstitches!
Thanks you!!!🤗❤
Unfortunately I cannot insert a link in here...😭
Okay, this is going to take some research. It's something I haven't done before so I'll have to see if I can figure out a way to do a tutorial with it that is clear and repeatable. Thanks again!
So help full
Good tutorial. Now, if you could just use a light theme background. ... at least occasionally. Maybe alternate with a dark theme in one tutorial and light theme in another one.
Boa noite amigo, assisti seu video legendado pq nao sei falar ingles hahahaha, mas muito obrigado pelo video me ajudou muito por que eu não tinha encontrado um em portugues que esplicasse tão bem assim
HI. DO YOU HAVE T-SHIRT SEWING PATTERN DESIGN VIDEO, SIR?
I have some pattern videos up. Seamless repeating and half drop patterns too. What did you have in mind?
@@IronEchoDesign Thanks I want to learn it. Can you give me a link to that video, please?
For sure. Here is the most recent pattern video. It shows a couple different types and I like this method better than my previous videos: How to Make a Half Drop Repeat Pattern: Inkscape Seamless Floral Pattern Tutorial

Nice tutorial!
Rick, please change your profile picture 🙏 These black stripes in the corners give me a bad feeling...
I've been think about making a switch, so now's a good time with a suggestion like that! I want to convey good feelings! Thank you.
@@IronEchoDesign You are the best!👍
I found the original file and took the black bars out. Maybe I'll try something besides my face later. Thanks again!
@@IronEchoDesign Much better! 🌞
