“Can’t play without piracy or a WiiU”
* stares affectionately at Game Cube *
* looks lovingly at backwards compatible Wii *
* Goes back in time and just becomes a real pirate *
"that will do cube. That will do"
I still have mine as well.
I got mine too.
Windwaker was an 11/10 game. Why this doesn't have an official port on the switch, it is insane
Nintendo blew its load too quickly and dropped it on the Wii U. Maybe it'll come out on Switch 2.
Absolutely loved this game.
Na it was a 7/10 for too much water
Agreed. This is still one of my top Zelda games.
They are saving it for Switch 2 so that they have something to push in Y1 or Y2 when there's a shortage of games.
You seriously missed to mention a moment in this that no other Zelda (until Tears) offered: a tiny moment of humanization Ganondorf where he shows sadness and grief over his past when he says he came from a scorching hot desert and he only desired the sensation of cool breeze from Hyrule.
which is also a metaphor for the success that the people of hyrule had in a more recource rich land, whereas the gerudo people lived in the desert. he basically just wanted his people to survive and be happy which i think is kinda sweet for a villan!
@@LeifKinnunen Except every time he shows fealty to Hyrule's King, they accept him only to be betrayed because of his lust for power. That's what makes him a villain.
I was a Sega kid and was in Uni by the time I bought a GameCube. Windwaker was my introduction to Zelda and will always have a special place in my heart. The Great Sea theme always fills me with emotion.
You probably could not have chosen a better game to start with, seeing as it only really gets better with every other Zelda game. ;x
Windwaker was also my first Zelda. Fell in love after that. Now tis my 3rd favorite title after Totk and botw
It was the game I got when I had my tonsils out around age 8, I loved this one!
Sega kids in the 90s were the most misled kids of all. They wanted to be cool and edgy - they had not-so-good games, while nintendo kids had all the real fun. :')
Fortunately, (almost) any Zelda opus had the same effect on every kid, be they a ninkid or a segakid. Given a good game: we were happy (and hooked).
For James Earl Jones:
"The Force is strong with this one."
And this is how I found out.
Fffffffffff... 😢
"Rugrats who look like they've been left too long in the microwave" 😂
Why would you put Tommy in the microwave in the first place you monster!!!!!
Now we just need a Majora’s Mask Honest Trailer
Need Majora's Mask on Switch/2.
Better include rudely drinking an old lady’s medicine in front of her.
Please say: “Get this straight, meatball… I don’t work for toons!”
Tetra having her personality power washed of when she became Zelda, and being side lined until the end of the game.
Yep. Sounds about right. It hurts every time.
This was still an awesome game though. Just gotta erase my memory of the sailing.
Finally not to worry, you can play Wind Waker without piracy or a WiiU. Just pray you have the gamecube version.
Twas my immediate thought. Think I still got it somewhere, right next to Thousand Year Door, Double Dash, and all the free time I had when I was younger.
Honest Trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass & The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks!
Hair coupons? ACTIVATE SLEEPER AGENTS GO GO GO
FACE THE BRAINROT, BUILD THE COMMUNITY.
When you do the Echoes of Wisdom trailer, you better call Zelda Link
4:37 Well now you _have_ to do this joke in reverse when Echoes of Wisdom comes out.
"Hair Coupons"? When did Limbus Company get popular enough for that?
It sold 1 limbillion copies remember?
PM are already a Fortune 100 company. They're the most dominant Wing in the world.
Also props for not just making a "PM MENTIONED, SLEEPER AGENTS GO!" like the other mindless drones.
Please, Sir, say: "My wife told me to stop singing Wonderwall. I said maaaaaaybeeeee..."
From Dragon Age Inquisition, can you say: "Beg that I succeed, for I have seen the throne of the gods, and it was empty."
That's a cool quote!
The Outset Island theme is such a jam. How is it so good
Also Dragon Roost Island. So good.
This games visuals hold up even with the original GameCube version. Cell shading is awesome.
Yep. Not to mention that hyper realistic art style ages like milk while the cartoon style still looks good today.
art direction when done well can knock ordinary graphics out of the park
Yup, this and Okami are two of the best looking games even to this day. Stylised graphics almost always age phenomenally.
I still like how PS1 Bugs Bunny and Willy Coyote games hold up visually even now.
@@nobodyimportant2470IDK MGS3 still looks pretty solid
1. I loved the sailing
2. How are you having issue with directions? You change the wind to where you want to go, and you go there.
3. Come on Nintendo, give us WW/TP HD on Switch!
"Sea-ky blinders & Desperate Fishwives" 😂😂😂
Borderlands movie AND Legend of Zelda on the same day?? Its Christmas in September! Seriously though only 12 weeks left
Please say, “I… am Steve.”
Black Myth Wukong when? Come on man do it
"Another forced escort quest?!"
Oh, come on, working together with Medli in the Earth Temple was fun. Not to mention, she's just so sweet and adorable.
Please say: "The fault lies with you Ishmael!"
Do an Honest Trailer for Astrobot!
Concord first
That epic fail needs a honest trailer
"no one wants to game that badly."
IS THAT A CHALLENGE I HEAR
0:59 Well that's not fair, he fought Vati with no sign of Ganondorf anywhere at least once. Also it's not actually clear if Calamity Ganon actually is a Ganondorf or not, that was left deliberately vague.
AND top right is Yuga, technically
COUGH with ganon's power COUGH.
Another one of those pictures is actually Demise, who's a different guy altogether
Lost me in the first 30 seconds when you said I couldn’t play it cause I’m lookin at the GameCube copy I’ve had since 2002 and nothings stopping me from popping the disc in
Say:"Do you want to have a personality? Or become a Princess?"
Wukong. What are you waiting for?
Honest Game Trailers: Space Marine 2!
no black myth wukong still deserved an honest trailer
Do a Honest Game Trailer for Hyperdimension Neptunia
BLACK MYTH WUKONG PLEASE GODDAMMIT
+
Nobody knows what that is
2:13 this transition is perfect XD
2:56 Missed an opportunity to make a Bugs Bunny-esque "should have taken a left turn at Albuquerque" joke. *lol*
Hey, 0:18 I still have my game cube and my GBA, so I can play this anytime I want no piracy necessary
I never got lost (how would you? You can teleport and there's a map showing exactly which way you face), but yes the original desperately needed the super sail they added later.
BEST ZELDA EVER! So many good memories with it and I must have finished it like 9 times hahah. Can't believe there was no honest trailer about it till now!
The Wind Waker era is still my favorite time for Zelda games. The Gamecube and DS games were such a wonderful exploration of, and refinement of the 3D Zelda formula. I wish they would return to that design style, or at least port those games to the Switch ⚔️ 🛡️ 🏴☠️ 🚢
For the one of, if not the most lighthearted games in the series, it probably has the most gruesome ending. 10/10
Should've mentioned how the NPCs were talking about girls getting kidnapped from all over, yet there were only 3 being held captive. 2 were from the same island, and the 3rd was Link's sister. What happened to the rest of them?
Mostly blonde girls. Though presumably the moblins age the rest, like one of them wanted to with his ‘girlfriend’.
One of my favorite games on GameCube back in my childhood, If it wasn't for the strategy guide I would never competed 100 percent that game.
Also had the most relatable Ganondorf ever. He actually had depth and a somewhat noble cause in this game that made you question who the real bad guy was.
Probably the guy that slaughtered most of the kingdom and raised them as undead, but for some reason I can't remember his name.
I really wish they would remake Spirit Tracks so that people can see a Zelda who isn't useless.
Man, that was a really good Kermit.
I enjoyed the sailing, it was calming after a stressful day at school.
3:43 when exactly did Nintendo give you that idea??
My thought exactly 😂
Can we see an Honest Trailer for Octopath Traveler 2, please?
Please say: "I am the Bone of my Sword, Steel is my Body and Fire is my Blood"!
also Tingle is popular in Japan that he has his own spin-off games that are good actually.
1:44 DON'T DO TETRA LIKE THAT 😂😂
Would you kindly say: "May you find your book in this place."
Omg...Kermit Sea Frog...😂😂😂
I definitely would not call the Earth and Wind Temple, “escort missions”. Medli and Makar were true rockstars who gave me a sense of camaraderie that I’ve never felt in a Zelda game before. I know that the temples were designed so that you would need them, but with these two having so many uses, they felt like a pleasant inclusion.
"All surf and no terf." Is the best joke I've ever heard.
Please say, "Sweet as sugar, hard as ice, hurt me once and and I'll beat you twice!" - Evil Cupcake (Chroma Squad)
I still remember how incredibly charming I found the art style from the first trailer and was both surprised and not surprised to learn it wasn't liked by everyone later on. Also, to the credit of Tetra, the sequel showed she much preferred who she was before instead of Zelda because that wasn't her style, so she's back to being Tetra again in it.
3:31 I mean most Links' epitaphs are based on their games' name. Except for the first two Zelda games which don't have any established epitaphs for the Links in them (the first one's costume in BotW is just called "Hero's Set" instead of the "hero of" names the rest of the sets get come on. Also Hero of the Past's set is called Armor of Awakening because it was cross promotion with the Link's Awakening remake) and honestly most of them are just implied based on the naming scheme rather than being official.
Fun fact: The Master Sword in Wind Waker is actually a different one from the original. When Link was sent back to the past in Ocarina of Time, the Master Sword went with him and the adult timeline didn’t have one as a result.
Now do one for Majora’s Mask
"STARRING CELLDA" Obvious missed joke at the end
Missed opportunity for a "too much water" joke.
Calling link Zelda in these will never get old
"Nintendo Style-Ranni" was the first time I learned what shipping was as a kid.
I spit out my drink at 4:06 & then lost it at 4:07. That is an amazing double whammy of a joke.
The fart joke cut to ganon laughing is undefeated I fucking howled 😂😂😂
Had this and Ocarina as a boxed set on my GameCube in 03 and I bloody loved it.
Windwaker was my first Zelda game and I still have it and my Game Cube. And now this made me want to replay it again
Please say: "Silence! I heard your story- 'Revenge'. [beat] Good story." (from Oglaf)
I actually did buy a used Wii U for $100 from a Mckays to play this game. To my surprise, it was a Zelda Wii U that had this game pre-installed
The fart joke cut to ganon laughing is undefeated I friggen howled 😂😂😂
Please say: "Last Sunday was the first day of Autumn."
Can’t wait to see what you call Link in Echoes of Wisdom
"Save the same princess from the same bad guy"
1. Multiple Zelda's on that list are from games that don't even have ganondorf in them
2. One of the Ganon pics you have there is actually Demise
When I die, I hope someone finds my GameCube save file and is in awe of how I got all the figurines…
Please say, "To get to the next island to save Zelda, I must use the wwiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnddddddddd..."
MY HAIR COUPOOOOOOOOOOONS!!!
3:55 The fans stopped complaining when it actually came out and it is now considered one of the GOATs
When Dragon Age Veilguard comes out, are you going to do an honest trailer on that game?
"Unless you get a Wii U, come on no one games that hard" while I'm literally playing the game now on my Wii U and at the end.
I remember as a kid this game was hated. Everyone said the graphics sucked. Now 20 years later, its praised as one of the best looking Zelda games of all time. Crazy how time changes opinions
well the art doesnt age unlike "realistic" PS2 games of the time. ironic eh?
Give me the chills with the line "Welcome to PlayPaintChill. You just gained honor +2 for following us ! ".
Do Honest Trailers for Simcity or Cities Skylines, Dwarf Fortress and Hyperdimension Neptunia!
Please say "You're... getting shoved in this bag too!"
"You're... Getting shoved in this bag too!"
Nani?!
LAMENT
"grandma and her jar of piss" got me so good
Please do an Honest Game Trailer for Funko Fusion
Windwaker has one of the most based Ganondorf if you ask me. Dude got some hell of a character development and is still evil.
Yes, but the Dragon Roost Island theme is amazing.
alright that XCOM qoute at the end legit got me lol. congrats to the person who posted that.
Sure it's cartoony but between stabbing Ganon in the forehead and the king drowning it has one of the most brutal endings in the series
I’m noticing a huge resurgence and interest for wind Waker, it makes me really happy, I hope Nintendo recognizes it and does a complete HD remastered better than the WiiU. It was easily the most divisive yet beautiful game of the year.
After finding an article where Aonuma said that he's not interested in the old Zelda games anymore, I decided to go get a WiiU just so I could play Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD 😁
I SERIOUSLY hope open sailing, naval combat, and islands return in the next main Zelda game. It's too bad TotK couldn't manage it. Its inclusion of pirates, ships, and an explorable island amounted to such a tease of untapped potential.
Granted, the sky islands and Depths were more than substantial enough to make it feel like the definitive experience for that open world. And I'm not saying by any means that I want The Legend of Zelda: Black Flag or The Wind Waker 2.0.
But it would be nice to see a more advanced take on at least a few similar concepts in a future mainline title: Free roam sailing, a customizable ship, pirates, fully explorable islands (some with their own dungeons), sea monsters, etc.
Imagine a version of Hyrule so dense with content that you could traverse the map's various land biomes, explore the skies, delve into the underground, and navigate bodies of water (lakes, rivers, and miles of surrounding ocean).
"That you can't get without a Wii U"
Me: *laughs in still having my GameCube*
Do Space Marine, "GET OF MA SHIP SPESS MUHREN" said warboss Grimskull calmly.
Do an Honest Trailer for Zelda Spirit Tracks. Zelda has a LOT of personality.
GPS: Straight ahead... off a cliff or straight into a body of water.
I loved the roasting of this game and the fact you said it's a solid game at the end. Also, if I wanted to play it again, I'd simply plug in my Gamecube that's sitting on my shelf and play it. Nintendo at least knows how to make a console that doesn't break down over the years.
Say "We're sorry we haven't made an Honest Game Trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins yet” and then make an Honest Game Trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins.
this being the one Link with personality is so dang real
