    Sold my Pixel 3 for the regular P30. Love how Huawei finally makes the picture look realistic compared to my Mate 10 and P20 Pro cartoonist look. I have no regrets getting the regular P30 over the Pro. Love your videos

      Yes I agree Huawei has matured their processing quite a bit compare to the p20 pro. Still got some room to improve but it's getting there!

      I'm with the p30 pro for 2 days knely. Like it's versatility but I'm having trouble with photos of people, mainly when I use portrait mode. I'm coming from the pixel 2 xl, that takes amazing photos nis there anything to regulate to make the P30Pro looks better? Did you notice anything like that when u left pixel for P30Pro?

    Great indepth review. Had my p30 pro on launch day after galaxy S7 and S8. I preferred what Huawei have done with the pro over the S10 and I'm glad I made the change. I agree with your points. Curved screens are aesthetically pleasing but expensive to fix. I compared my S8 2k screen to the pros Full Hd one on UA-cam and it's hardly noticeable. Great phone. 👍

    I got the P20 Pro one year back on day it was launched here as well as the P30 Pro. In general the P20 Pro has never let me down be it phone or photos but the temptation for the new one was not because it has better camera but the addition of zoom wide and more light gathering ability. On some pictures I do like the perspective given to the overall picture by the monochrome sensor in the P20 Pro but the P30 Pro is a definite improvement in zoom and low light pictures. I do agree that curved screen is not my cup of coffee here.

    Huawei is getting there, I still don't feel the phone as a whole is better/worth it than Samsung for example, but I see they are getting close and that's good, I want to have a Huawei one day since they are the only ones current with big camera technologies and innovations also in others parts

    • @TheRealRichardWong

      Definitely there are many things Huawei could improve! a lot of fine tune still needed to get some finer thing really polished. but I feel with every phone release they are closing the gap and also putting lots of innovation especially on the camera than some other leaders are lacking at the moment

    @Richard Wong Great review (as usual!). The last year, I've selected a P20 Pro after your review and happy since then as many Instagrammer that have seen the result on my account. My question is about when you take a gimbal for video (as DJI Osmo Mobil 2 or something like that) with a P20 and probably the same thing with the P30 Pro, I've read some comments on forum where users report that the quality of image is not great? They explain the problem occur since these gimbals use their own application that don't work directly with the Huawei proprietary camera app. Do you experiment something like that?

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  5 років тому +1

      Hi there thanks for watching my video again! Re using with gimbal, do you mean the image quality or video quality? Gimbal wouldn't work well with camera manufacturers proprietary camera app but if you are using the factory camera app and just use gimbal to stabilise the video footage, it should make no difference to the output video quality I would assume?

  • @milkovicgabriella5163

    Nice review, thanks. Do you have a fix for the camera insisting on a background blur even when I want both a person in the front AND the landscape behind sharp and in focus? Most phone cameras don't overdo the blur and this is a very frequent situation when one travels. I tried f11 and even 16 but the blur remained. I tried to turn AI off but the blur remained. (In phone mode, not portrait mode). I tried to step back but even from 2-3 meters (from the person) the background remained blurred. There must be a solution, this is such a basic need... :(

    Does Huawei belong to Leica or Leica own Shareholder with Huawei? The P30pro does it has the Sensor from SONY, the SCREEN FROM SAMSUNG? But Why are the two latter brand (Sony, Samsung) don´t have the branding on the P30pro?

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  5 років тому +3

      Hi Happy 030, Huawei does not belong to Leica or vice versa. They have a partnership to create Leica branded camera on the Huawei smartphones.
      Re why no Sony logo ..etc? It's pretty common for electronic appliance manufacturers to contract other companies to create components to their own specifications.
      For example iPhone uses Samsung screen and camera made by Pegatron and memory and processor all made by other companies, but you never see any of those logos on the iphone. Another example is half the camera industry use camera sensor from Sony but none of them (at least the well known brands) would have Sony logo on their box.
      Hope that make sense.

    I agreed with the curved screen being bullshit. I don't know why people would want the screen to be curved.

      I have made a Huawei camera tutorial which covers the pro mode. Not specifically for p30 but most are the same :)

    Great video, thank you. The Pro 30 is somewhat disappointing. Quit regular pics and all shot in 4:3 format. Pixalization in videos by probably slow bit rate. I wonder how photos looks like on a large screen instead on your display.

    Now people are washing phones, just get a clean micro fiber cloth with a water tiny amount and clean the phone. Your doing to much

      Isn't it much easier AND cleaner just put the phone under the tap for a few seconds then have to grab a micro fiber cloth and tiny amount of water?

    We must admit and accept! That in terms of photos! P30 pro is capturing absolute image! But Vedio on the other hand is Terrible.

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  5 років тому +1

      I won't call it terrible, video mode is improving every model. But it's definitely not as good as some of its competitors

    Hey man ! What would you suggest for someone who's planning to shoot 4k
    videos with a tripad (I don't use stabilization) in lowlight environment
    ? Main criteria is clarity. I want to be able to crop in post-prod up
    to 400% and still have details. Thinking about the P30 Pro, do you think
    there's a better android choice ? Cheers !
