  • By the second world war aircraft design, manufacture, and capabilities had undergone major changes. This development necessitated modern equipment for pilots and crew alike. Improving the efficiency of flight-gear concerning communication and comfort would also enable better performance from the axis airmen. In this episode, Christian will explain in better detail the development of the model 101 and the equipment issued to axis flight crews flying over Malta.
This range of German ww2 flight helmets was officially designated as Luftwaffe Kopfhaube - LKp W101 for winter, LKp S101 for summer and LKp N101 for the net (mesh) version.

I have in my collection the Lkp W 101 and the Lkp N 101...... sadly they are not 100% complete the Lkp W 101 is missing the throat mic and cable and plug.
The Lkp N 101 which l repaired the Bakelite Earphone shroud's and netting material's is still missing one of the oxygen mask lug's.

I have a LKpW101, without earphones and everything, only the leather cap. It has rabbit fur in it's inside, never seen that, and it is marked "hdc" in the inside. I was wondering if someone could help me find the earphones that this models had, to see if I can restore the helmet to it's historically accurate form. Thanks!!
