need to see film again. its got stick over the years like most 3rd films in a franchise, but its a great story line with whats going on within barter town. having a matriarch villian was a brillant change. shes not all one sidely bad ither unlike the villians from the 2 films befor, ither of them had an once of humanity. she has a likeable side to her in this, and spares maxs life at the end.

If the men did not make it back it would be awhile before she could replace them. If any of them had certain skills it might be a long time before they find anyone with those same skills if ever. But with the latest film they decided to start over for some reason so that wont happen outside of fan fiction. Auntie could potentially find the notes but "IF" any of her minions were literate enough to read them. ( mainly anyone born before the collapse) I doubt they would have the know how to keep it working properly. So Barter Town would still be subject to unintentional blackouts. Which could potentially split the city into warring factions that not only threaten the peace but Auntie's authority as well.

I like how this whole plan hinges on the idea that no one knows Max is working with Auntie. But in order to get to Auntie's platform lair Max is clearly seen with her henchmen taking the lift up to meet her.

Where do you think the dead, dying or the sick get tossed? Where do you think the criminals get tossed? Where do you think the loser of the Thunderdome gets tossed? Movies aren't book reports, my short-attention-spanned friend. And this one was made long before people watched them on tiny screens, when movies were an experience, not just fodder for idiotic memes and such.
For me, the golden age of movies was about 1970 to 1995. My partner and I would go to every sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, or action movie on opening night after avoiding watching any reviews or previews. Thunderdome was super fun. That was before Gibson was revealed to be an ass, so I was still a fan. Tina was superb, as always.
