      @@goose5462this was a ton of people's first Mad Max movie because it used to be on TV a lot in the 90s. To those people this IS Mad Max. It also wasn't obviously part of a trilogy. I saw it when I was around 13 and I didn't know it was a sequel to anything for years. I watched it probably 15 times before seeing MM2 and then finally the 2nd one

      @@funnymcfunfuns1455 My dad recorded Mad Max 2 on VHS, me and my brother watched it all the time, I knew there were 2 others movies (just for Tina Turner song on tv you knew there was this other mad max movie lol) but I didn't remember seeing them, I guess I have but I must have been 5 or so (we were watching tv a lot as children and my older brother remember watching the 3 so...) and it's true, for me Mad Max was/is Mad Max 2, the one I had easy access to.
      I do remember watching Mad Max 1 when I was 20 or so, damn, it was quite hard, it looks quite old compared to 2 and less apocalyptic but it hits you in the guts, I understood the impact this movie had been then.
      So far still haven't seen 3, saw Fury Road on theater, quite disappointed, ain't gonna lie but still, Mad Max is part of me I guess.

    I really like this movie regarding the props, world building and weird characters. The walk from the city entrance to Aunty's elevator shows so much details and is so full of life. The story and some acting may have been goofy here and there, but I like the idea of Barter Town and how they made it up.

    • @John-vc1kz

      The details in the props, clothing, and the attitudes of all the actors was submersion level for the movie. Very different from the Road Warrior, with some comedic touches. But, it's all Mad Max. The world sucks today. Being an outcast is appealing to me, still.

    Maurice Jarre's score is among the greatest he ever wrote. I interviewed him back in the 1990s and he revealed "George Miller left me completely free" when writing the music. There's a lesson to be learned there, in our current era of directors who micromanage every note (which results in forgettable scores).

      I have a similar story. My neighbor lent this to me when I lived in Milwaukie, Wisconsin. One night I was returning it to him and noticed his door was slightly ajar. I noticed a strange smell coming from the apartment so I peeked in further and tried to pry the door a little more open. However, my neighbor suddenly appeared at the door and he goes "What do you want?". I sheepishly said "Oh I was just returning your VHS tape, Jeff" and handed it back to him. He grabs it looks back to his apartment and turns back to me and says with a smile and says "Thanks". I quickly left. I moved out after a few months later. Turns out that neighbor.....was Jeffrey Dahmer. TRUE STORY!

      @ethanhocking8229 3 місяці тому +3

      It’s not a bad film, but it seems to be geared to middle school age children - kind of like the original Star Wars movies. It doesn’t contain the violence and raw, brutal grittiness that we see in the previous two movies, which was thankfully brought back in Fury Road and most recently in Furiosa. MM1&2 contained rape scenes, people being burned alive and dismembered in road collisions, and a serrated boomerang that cuts off a man’s fingers and splits another man’s skull in two. Beyond Thunderdome has no gory scenes, and a big chunk of the film seems to revolve around the Lost Boys of Neverland. It’s a fairly decent film on its own, but it doesn’t feel like a Mad Max film when compared to the other entries in the franchise.

      Naw. I love the idea of a tribe of primitive children who cobble together a mythology from half-remembered bits of their collective childhood, and his relationship with them is important to his character development and the progression he's been making towards rejoining humanity. We already see that he's gone from scavenging to trading in the begining of the movie, and now he's experiencing the inverse of Mad Max, where he had the chance to settle down, but couldn't bring himself to, whereas in Thunderdome, he's ready to settle down and be a father figure to the children (it's important to note that many of those kids would be the same age as the son he lost), but has to sacrifice that opportunity to ensure their escape.

    Quando um filme é bom de verdade ele melhora com o tempo. Clássicos. Assisti ao filme mad Max no cinema, caraca meu irmão muito foda. Tinha uns peido mas foi bom, diferente das bosta americana. E o cara é um visionário, o mundo está indo naquela direção.

    The first half of this film is a complement and worthy successor of the first two films. We won't talk about the second half. But imagine a day, a day when technology has advanced, perhaps in fifty years, that a random maker at home could have a film, then simply create a flawless rewrite of what they disliked. Computers and Ai perfectly rendering the characters, style, sound and sets. The maker writes a script, creates some digital sets and then simply directs the AI to make the film that should have been. How many movies have there been with amazing ideas so poorly executed. It will be a golden age for visual arts.

    Always felt that whoever was writing the screenplay quit halfway through. The second half of the movie felt like a desperate attempt to salvage the movie.

    Ummm, did that dude just drop out of a plane and land in the seat of that carriage deal like it was nothing??!! He dropped in there like me plopping on the couch. Pretty sure he would have crushed his sack and broken several bones as well. Regardless, I always loved this movie.
