Pt Bhimsen Joshi- Raga Chayanat

A great deal of Pt. Mansur, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi and Pt. Kumar Gandharva are available on You Tube, and adding further ones may be superfluous. I only intent to upload a selected few.

On the Tanpura - Pt Madhav Gudi and Panditji's daughter. This is not Chaya Nat for sure. Lot of Jaijaiwanthi influence.

As I wrote some time back, any recording/concert of Panditji which is not already available is most welcome. Whether or not this is Jaijaiwanti Nat, there is surely an effect of Jaijaiwanti here. I may also most humbly mention that considering his stature Panditji was rather miserly as far as his repertoire of ragas at public concerts were concerned. He expressed himself more freely in the small baithaks for which Maharashtra is so famous. In this recording he has also deviated from his own style towards the Jaipur style. These are, of course, the feelings of a layman and may please be read bearing that in mind. Thank you.
