its 11.45 at night, i listen to shaksaat prabhu singing through his son , Panditji Bhimsen joshi......am blessed. sat sat pranam prabhu....kya kamal kiya ....Bhimsen ji ko apni awaz di.,,,man tript hogaya.....
Bhimanna, the great... Another gem. I have 2 other Jaijaiwanti sung by him. All have their uniqueness based on the age when he has sung them. This is when he was young and one can feel the energy. The one when he turned older is like a grandfather telling story to grandchildren.. Amazing
Bhimsen Joshi gave some his most electrifying performances in the 60s through 70s. Jaijaiwanti Nat is one of his unusual Raags and he's sung it beautifully. Thank you for sharing this gem with all Hindustani Classical aficionados
I wonder, how Pt. Bhimsenji is an exceptional vocalist to sing a rare raag like Jayjaywsntinat, in his usual extraordinary style! -Prakash Mahajan(Jalgaon, M. S)
It seems, after hearing this performance of Raag Jaijaiwanti, I never truly understood the Raag. Note the meends on the Rishab, and the efficient charaav from the First Octave to the Second to the Third with patience and adequate use of Bol Alaap. My ears are privileged to hear such technical excellence and deep musical understanding.
The first 17 minutes or so are restricted to rishab/gandhaar in the mandra-saptak. The first use of madhyam is at ~18 minutes. Can you imagine the genius and creativity?
I love Indian classical music from root of my heart and soul and admire people who have deep interest in it. Regards for your best analysis of bhimsenji's Jayjaywanti.
I have only transcribed the composition based on the audio. Someone might have a better and more accurate version having learnt directly from their Guru. Sakal Ghadi Chandra Raja Maharaja Rajan ke Raja Maharaja || Dillipati Tu Karim Abo Mori Laaj Rakho Raaja ||
