Thank you for doing this VC. I just had a heart attack and my cardiologist informed me that I am now a vegan. That along with all the other changes is a steep hill to climb. This video shows me that I can do it.
Some questions for you to choose from if there is room: 1) Riding fuel: a. Do you use any powders or gels when you ride? b. If so, which ones? c. If not, do you just go with bananas and dates? i. If bananas and dates, do you find it difficult to get in enough calories when the ride goes over 3 hours? 2) Relative to the total calories you ate the week of the video, what percentage of calories did we see, and what percentage did you eat off camera? 3) How much caffeinated drinks do you drink each day? 4) Do you take any supplements? a. If so, which? Great presentation in your video, btw.
Great videos dude... With fantastic content for cyclists.. And or people that just want to eat clean.. Keep up the excellent work, it's much appreciated!
Great vid, as always. You manage to bring the freshness, not just in the music but also in the ideas and way your vids are edited. I like the broad range and the tips and race reviews too. Keep it up bruh!
You really should do more of these. Love the food, and meals insight. Love the ideas I get for meals and of course, the race and training shoots and info. DO more of this plz. Loved this
your editing game is fucking sick broh respect on that big time.. The quality here is just insane....your life is pretty sick as well...all around props for you man all around..
+PlantTheSeed it took me an UNGODLY amount of time to edit. I didn't know what I was going to do with the shots so I just filmed everything for a week. So there was a ton to sift through. Probably 12 hours total to edit. And then I was worried no one would like it so I almost didn't post hahaha. Thanks for your kind comment , it makes it worth it.
I was shocked at how little you eat (obviously or should be, relative), looks like it's doing great for you though. I really enjoy the music you drop in your videos and how you edit, very entertaining! Q: If you had unlimited amounts of money, what bike/kit would you buy? Q2: Would love to hear your comments on how making these videos for others has ended up helping you? or has it?
I agree with you. I m vegan and I eat much more than him...he eat 80%smoothie and juices ..and the little meals are almost the same ! Also I can say I don t just cycle but run and swim but a pizza and a huge plate of pasta and some plant based meat is in my menu a part lot of fruits and veggies :)
Wow! Such an Inspiration. Tomotrrow i'll get my first machine after staying away from this beautiful Sport at least over 10 Years. I gained so much weight in this decade, got lazy and been in a bad mood for years and even though i'm vegan i can't motivate myself. But tomorrow will start a new part of my life. Glad i found your channel. It's pure motivation. Thanks for your videos! :) Greetings from Düsseldorf/ Germany
Tyler you're smashing it. Great job on the vids. I used to race Pro Conti and went vegan after retiring. Cool to have some quality vegan cycling vids. Keep at it.
i took a lot of ideas for dinner and breakfast Thank you Tyler, i started to be vegetarian 4 months ago and you are helping me a lot with all your videos. See ya on Zwift!
Nice. Will need to try some of those dinners. The only other thing I could think about while watching was how nice it would be to not be in an office from 6/7:00AM to 5/6:00PM M-F. Keep the vids coming! Thank for letting us into your world.
Love this pal, have been thinking of changing my lifestyle for a while, could you give me the top 5 tips that will help me make the change to being a vegan... Or at least set me on the way? I'm in the uk 👍🏻
Curious as to what your monthly food cost is. I am a family of 4 spending around 600/mo. We are not vegan but do prepare 90% of our meals from scratch. Also, we're trying more beans in our diet since they are an inexpensive source of carb/protein but they seem to be requiring an adjustment phase. Have you any experience adjusting to foods? Will the body adjust? Finally, what do you shoot the vids with? Obviously a gopro on the bike but what is your other camera? I love the style of the vids.
Love your channel! Don't think I can do full vegan but I have eliminated all animal meat and I am feeling much better. Love waking up with an empty stomach vs still digesting the steak from the night before. Plus going uphill is easier when you weigh less. Keep up the great work
Very cool video! Nice to see a full week of your schedule. Also Glad u got a vitamix bro! Amazing machine and great addition to a healthy diet ! Love mine to death. Keep it up.
+stevemeis2 if I could only take 1 thing with me into the woods and survive off of for a year, it would be my vitamix. I could blend a whole frickin pine tree in that thing.
I wasn't suggesting that you rant at all. Some other channels just can put you to sleep with hours of prolonged dribble. Still looking forward to your Cali/ Melbourne comparison with Maven. Cheers.
Even though I'm not vegan really enjoyed this video and your channel (subscribed instantly after watching the first vid :) ). I have been trying to eat way less meat and only locally sourced meat which I know hasn't been put through the rigors of mass production and actually more fish than meat. Props to you for keeping up the vegan lifestyle looking forward to more vids :) Greetings from Germany
Really such an awesome video, quality youtube content well worth my time and more. Question: When is your swag coming, Id rock your swag all day erryday on the bike and out and about. Cause your stuff is so inspiring.
Hey!! I'm a cyclist also and want to go vegetarian/vegan. Do you have any sugestions on how to go about it, protein source, etc. Hope you can answer. Have a nice one and keep riding!!
hi Taylor! great vídeos. keep it going 😉. Got a question, in a previus video you said that you do a 'race preparation' workout the day before a race. What do you do? is just easy riding? some short hiits? thanks bro.. yoooup!
Love your videos and although i get a lot from your other videos on training, powermeter, tips etc. This one helps too. I am starting to try and move to plant based meals through watching you. On my rides i have figs or dates on me. When I get back from a heavy ride or on the staionary trianer what should i have to get protein back in me? Should i start wizzing up smotthies the same as you? I was use protein powder but would prefer real food. thanks for your videos, have you thought about a book? using all the videos you have? keep those wheels spinng! vinnychoff
Hey man i love your vids, and your always so positive and put out an amazing amount of quality information. I am interested in learning more about Veganism, and or the benefits it has had on your cycling. I absolutely love cycling and what it has done for me and my life over the past years. Keep up the great work and if you have a moment and or willing to, please email me with where you suggest i may begin the change if i choose to. The Vegan Cyclist kit.
+James Shields watch my vegan QNA, I answer alot there. But just get educated, plant the seed and watch as it will consume your life with positive changes.
That's a great insight, Tyler. Thanks for sharing! It makes me commit to a better nutrition.. I'm also cyclist powered with green sources but my diet it's quite a mess and unplanned. I realized that you don't include pasta or other wheat foods. Could you explain why? Thanks man!
Again, a dope vid. My wife and I are slowing getting into the plant based diet and wondering what your daily caloric intake averages. Keeps the vids coming bruh!
Nice Video! How importand do you think your protein intake is as an endurance athlete (considering your use of hemp protein powder supplement after training) ?
Just found your channel and I'm pretty much hooked now. Keep it up! Can't stand the music though, but I guess that's what people prefer these days so I'll just have to get used to it :)
You gotta keep in mind that there are very strict rules to using music on UA-cam. Finding a good tune that does not have copyright laws is SOOOO HARD! So my options for good music is very slim. Cant tell you how frustrating it is to spend 12 hours on video only to have it pulled from youtube or all the ad money go to someone else because I used 24 seconds of their song.
VC another great video. I see you got the Vitamix, I love mine and can go back to an other blender. The music that you you in your videos, where do you get it from? Also can you one day go over your road from Cat 5 racer all the way to Cat 2? Where there anything you had to over come? Thanks dude.
I can't seem to find Fig Bars here in the Netherlands, so do you have any tips on other vegan brands? Thanks to you and some other youtubers, I eat more food and I try to be more of a vegetarian. I just try to work out what works best for me and my daily rhythm. Some progress that I made is: banana + peach is perfect pre-workout! Banana + chocolate paste (and some bread) is nice post workout. Thanks for uploading your vids BRUH!
Nice video!!! Question, How do to avoid of having a leg cramps? Because few weeks ago (6/19) during the event experienced both legs cramps although managed to finish the event.
What an awesome video. Thank you! I want a job like that, to be able to work at home! How many calories do you consume per day, especially on days you go riding?
Great video... How many calories do you estimate you eat in a typical day? It appears low in this video with so much veg and fruit? I would like to eat cleaner than I do but struggle feeling full enough, any tips on this?
Man..congratulations Bro..This a very nice video thanks for your time in sharing the information..that looks like a very cool area to ride ..is this California?..great job..thanks..
All looks pretty good to me (I don't eat vegan or vegetarian even), yum. You seem to have a lot of time for cycling, how much time each week do you work?
Awesome video Bruh! ! just one indiscrete question though. .. did you inherit a small fortune? ? i can only wish i could work 3-4 hours a Day and have the rest of the day for doing all the things I love. dude, you have to make a video about time management tips, seriously, great video. ..
Lol, yes, yes you are part of the right team.......... Now I know why you didn't want me to see this video.....lol It's Okay, you get your work done and that's all I care about.
So, are you on a team (for racing)? If not, what do you wear when you race, because the way I understand it you can't wear anything with logos or anything unless they sponsor your team? Is that why you made your own kit? Thanks!
Mate fantastic vid. I have been a subscriber to several vegan cyclist channels now for a few months durian rider Maven etc. Your channel is great very informative and good content. You might want to shave the beard to save a few watts ;)
Now I know that everyone asks about protein the second they know about being vegan - it's the second most readily asked question I get. I've done my research and all that, and realised that to achieve what a person my size/height/weight requires in protein to repair after normal life is plenty adequate. What my research hasn't told me, and what I think my body is struggling with, is that I work a manual job and then try to train as well. I am, perhaps like most cyclists, "not a normal/average person". I don't seem to recover as fast as I used to, or have as much energy in my legs. So, my question is: have you ever been training hard whilst trying to get enough protein from food sources and not powder added to smoothies? How did it go? Were you feeling recovered? Or have you always just used a recovery source after you train, even before you were vegan? Good video too, watched quite a lot of them now, nice to find that others are out there cycling well and being vegan.
+Timothy Perry 100% I do breath holding techniques where you breath down for 10s hold for 10s, breathe up for 10s, hold for 10s. Do it as long as you can. Gets really hard, because the breathing has to be slow.
Hey VC, love your channel. You appear to be a cool guy and specially humbbel. Thanks for doing videos like this. I have a doubt, how much fat, do you eat per day?
Great videos! I love watching other vegans rock it in sports. I'm a runner and sometimes get some weird GI issues when I have too much fiber, especially when it's long/hot. Do you ever have stomach issues?
+Jake S not really, but stomach issues have never really been a thing for me. When I first went vegan I was super bloated for maybe 3 months, but I feel fine now.
+The Vegan Cyclist thanks! I think I'm finally past the bloating, but the stomach gets to me sometimes when I run. I have a cast iron stomach for biking though, so maybe it's just the bouncing. Anyway, rock on!
If you ever do a trip to the UK - see if you can do a Time-Trial, it'll open your eyes...as non-uk people are lousy at it with respects...as people are brought up on it here.
Im 16 years old and i race crits but eventualy i also do 100k+ races, how many hours do you think i should be putting in a week, and what tipe of trainning? Love your channel btw, kudos from portugal ;)
How do you decide how to put together your main meals? do you have certain combinations, like one car, one veg per meal? simple ideas are what's holding me back
We always do a sheet of potatoes, and then always sautéed veggies. Broccoli, mushrooms, whatever. And then something on the side like tacos or a veggie burger, pasta, etc.... So the side changes daily but the potatoes and veggies are always for dinner.
Thanks to you and other vegans on UA-cam, this is my week 7 on vegan diet. Love it so far. Question, my weight is the same, however I got smaller, so did I lose muscle or fat?? I think fat because I see more definition and veins.
+Andriy Hlushchenko I actually gained weight in my first 3 months. Then lost 20lbs over the next 9 months. I think your body has to get used to the changes.
+The Vegan Cyclist thanks, that's what I thought too that my body is still going through the changes. What do you think my ideal weight for non racer? I'm 35, 6"2' and currently 193 lbs.
amazing video quality. great content too . you are eating really really healthy, nice job on that . what are your feeling from not eating anymore fish or chicken ext?...
Thank you for doing this VC. I just had a heart attack and my cardiologist informed me that I am now a vegan. That along with all the other changes is a steep hill to climb. This video shows me that I can do it.
Smoked paprika is a great way to get a little meaty taste 👍🏻
Enjoyed the format. A real break from what you and some other vloggers have been doing. Nice job!
+Al Sayers I almost didn't post this video because I thought people would think this format was boring. It's awesome to hear you dig it!
How important do you think being mauled by puppies is to your training? Is that what I am missing from my training?
BRO! Piles of puppies are bar none, THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF MY PROGRAM.
Some questions for you to choose from if there is room:
1) Riding fuel:
+Vinnie Doherty thanks bro! Appreciate the appreciation ;)
format is awesome. original, cool and perfectly done. the sleep surprise was great. well done.
Hey, great editing, man! Was really interesting to watch! Great foods, healthy options! Thanks for sharing :)
holy shit, that's a lot of dogs at 3:15

+Edwin Fabre yea, gotta do another one for sure. I will start filming next week, it will be interesting to see the difference in the food.
your editing game is fucking sick broh respect on that big time.. The quality here is just insane....your life is pretty sick as well...all around props for you man all around..
dude, love the vlog's. genuine and focused on cyclist lifestyle. keep'm coming!
How about making a quick video on why you like to do yoga in the mornings? Also I love these vlog(ish) style vids! Hell, I love all of your vids.
Your videos are among the best on youtube. Thanks for sharing!
+Matthew Glover thanks a million BRO! Really put a lot into making these kick ass.
Extremely well produced and edited. Must have taken a lot of time. Great job bro! :)
+PlantTheSeed it took me an UNGODLY amount of time to edit. I didn't know what I was going to do with the shots so I just filmed everything for a week. So there was a ton to sift through. Well done. The video answered a lot of questions I had about your diet, training load, racing load. Thanks.
Bro! This video is Sick! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for this! I enjoy all your videos but as a vegan, I especially enjoy dig your cooking vids!
Great video format. Helps me with ideas of what to try to change to.
Really enjoy the format... especially what you were eating and times
Awesome video man! More day/week in the life videos!
favorite cycling (and vegan) channel for sure
Thanks for the video! It is really inspiring! Keep going (and sure thing sharing)!

Thanks for making these vids, top quality!
Your everyday recipes are inspiring! I'm going to try the rice, avocado and teriyaki sauce! It's simple, but I never thought of it!
Very cool video man, and great job on the race!!
Great vid mate!!! Vids like these are awesome. No ranting, just info.
+bincepilot awww shit! I forgot my vegan cult rant! I knew I missed something.
I wasn't suggesting that you rant at all. Some other channels just can put you to sleep with hours of prolonged dribble. Still looking forward to your Cali/ Melbourne comparison with Maven. Cheers.
+bincepilot I know, I was joking. I am not one to rant to the camera about the injustices of the world.
Even though I'm not vegan really enjoyed this video and your channel (subscribed instantly after watching the first vid :) ). I have been trying to eat way less meat and only locally sourced meat which I know hasn't been put through the rigors of mass production and actually more fish than meat. Props to you for keeping up the vegan lifestyle looking forward to more vids :)
Greetings from Germany
Really enjoy the editing in your videos. Q&A - What do you do to support your family/cycling hobby?
Really such an awesome video, quality youtube content well worth my time and more. Question: When is your swag coming, Id rock your swag all day erryday on the bike and out and about. Cause your stuff is so inspiring.
Hey!!
I'm a cyclist also and want to go vegetarian/vegan. Do you have any sugestions on how to go about it, protein source, etc.
Hope you can answer.
Have a nice one and keep riding!!
Beans
Where do you get your audio tracks for your videos?
you've really inspired me bro! I have become a much better cyclist from your videos and I've started my own channel lol

When's the clothing coming ?
Not that I'm Vegan I just liked the look of the kit 😜
Nice one.. Do more videos like this focus on food and training. Thanks
hi Taylor! great vídeos. keep it going 😉.
I was use protein powder but would prefer real food. thanks for your videos, have you thought about a book? using all the videos you have? keep those wheels spinng! vinnychoff

+James Shields watch my vegan QNA, I answer alot there. But just get educated, plant the seed and watch as it will consume your life with positive changes.
Probably my favorite video of yours!
Gotta love the Blue Moon glass smoothie!
do you ever juice? juiced ginger after a hard ride helps a lot
Great video, really enjoyed this format. Quick question, what do you do for B12??
Great video bro! What do you do for a job? I don't think I could afford to eat that much! :(
A very blessed life you have bro! Nice work on these videos. Figured i need to change my diet too as it always involves fried chicken. haha
If you get a chance to do another "week in the life" video, I'd love it!
Nice Video! How importand do you think your protein intake is as an endurance athlete (considering your use of hemp protein powder supplement after training) ?
Hey vc, what is the song you used for Saturday, if you remember? Another great video
where do you live?
+Rob Stuart bass lake , ca. It's 17 miles from Yosemite.
Just found your channel and I'm pretty much hooked now. Keep it up! Can't stand the music though, but I guess that's what people prefer these days so I'll just have to get used to it :)

The Vegan Cyclist Can you please tell me the song on Saturday it's amazing, love all your videos and especially your music taste 😂
What do you do for a living

+kendogz161 I am working on a race categories explained video and will go through my race journey in that. Also, my vitamix IS AMAZING!!!!!
All about the rice life! I do black refried beans with white rice for my lunch during the week
Splendid video mate! How do you like that cranked stuff?
This was fantastic. When I visit Visalia(grandparents live here, i think you are close) one day I hope to sneak in a ride with you man.
+returnofdamac for sure, Visalia is about an hour from me, hit me up though, I can show you some awesome roads
Dude... what is the track that starts at 4:38? And... you always have some nice tracks on your vids. Thanks
sandite26 hi! Did you manage to find the name of the song? Cheers
Nice video!!!
Question, How do to avoid of having a leg cramps? Because few weeks ago (6/19) during the event experienced both legs cramps although managed to finish the event.
What's your feeding habit for long rides (like 5-6 hours)? Roll on bruh!
Yup I'd like to know if you take along home made or store bought, like the fig bars you had in an earlier vid

+Arturo Saucedo I will answer this in depth in the QnA, but no, no inheritance. Just am apart of the right work team in the right industry.
Lol, yes, yes you are part of the right team.......... Now I know why you didn't want me to see this video.....lol It's Okay, you get your work done and that's all I care about.
What GPS would you recommend for someone with a budget but wants to work up to a power meter?
So, are you on a team (for racing)? If not, what do you wear when you race, because the way I understand it you can't wear anything with logos or anything unless they sponsor your team? Is that why you made your own kit? Thanks!

Good video too, watched quite a lot of them now, nice to find that others are out there cycling well and being vegan.
Awesome vid as always! I struggle with my breathing when racing, do you think yoga helps you in this regard?
+Timothy Perry 100% I do breath holding techniques where you breath down for 10s hold for 10s, breathe up for 10s, hold for 10s. Do it as long as you can. Gets really hard, because the breathing has to be slow.

Curious as to the bag in video which name CRANKED is it a protein supplement? Who sells it and the website or purchased from?
They are super cool guys and I really dig their stuff. crankednaturals.com/ or like them on FB facebook.com/crankednaturals -
I bet there is no spider webs on your bike!? look at 1:44 so many spider webs on your monitor!!!!!!!
Dude where do you get your music from? I'm liking everything here and need some inspiration :) great video as well
Mr. suicide sheep , NCM , NCS, those are channels I get a lot of this stuff from. Also I will browse sound cloud

I can relate to this lifestyle. nice song selection
I feel great, takes a little while to get your diet in order and the change is big, but you don't need meat.
Rice and black beans for dinner, lovely Brazilian staple! There you go bruh
Found this video really helpful- Thank you
