Saying that only those with "good moral standing" deserve privacy raises serious ethical issues. Who gets to decide what’s considered "good"? We have to draw a line what is "assistance" and under which conditions it can be demanded by LEOs. On the other hand police might demand let's say all the data and all the chats of all users in certain group cause they suspect one member of said group in CSAM or extremism or whatever. In that case they should pound dust. I guess we'd have to wait till the court trials to see the evidence and judge for ourselves. As at this point government or police saying something doesn't mean shyte on it's own.
Now they can arrest every founder, CEO or investor in every sector like weapon industry, car, alcohol…. Because all of these products can be used and misused for criminal or bad things that happen. Do these directors bear responsibility if weapons are used in terroristic actions, in war, in robberies…. Or if people are driving cars too fast, killing people in accidents is the producer of the car then responsible? Or the one that produces wine or alcohol, if a drunken man has a deadly accident ? How can Pavel be responsible for the content on telegram ??
telecom, automobile, and postal executives might also be in trouble by such government regulations. If bad people use a certain cell phone, drive a certain automobile, or send a letter - this is truly a slippery slope

@@justinkirkman4918 Crimes don't logically lead to the conclusion that privacy must be stripped off. People livestream crimes like mass shootings on Facebook, giving up privacy doesn’t stop these crimes. The issues you brought up are related to safety and law enforcement, not privacy.
Your idea suggests that as long as crimes exist, no one should have privacy but it confuses the relationship between crime and privacy. Saying that only those with "good moral standing" deserve privacy raises serious ethical issues. Who gets to decide what’s considered "good"? If privacy is only for "good" people, it will be unfairly taken away from others. Have you thought about how this reasoning could justify invasive surveillance or discrimination, giving the government the power to judge "morality"? You sound like you’d be best suited to live in China.
And why do we care what Elon Musk says? And Why is it in the lead?
What’s your problem with free speech there Stalin?
Because Elon is the "defender of free speech"
@@LadieKadieHave you paid attention to what Elon does? He only believes in free speech when it benefits him.
Elon plays both sides be careful in the illusion
Elon is double pigs
He's the wrong ethnicity. Like TikTok, must be forced to sell to the right one
It seems Benjamin Nethanyahu is the right one too
The ceo is incredibly good looking . I can imagine him in a Hollywood movie
Amin
Gun manufacturers accordingly will have to be arrested for complicity
If they are aware that a crime is being committed, then yes, that is the definition of complicity. In this case, Pavel was very much aware, so yes, he is complicit. Questions?
He hurt IsraHell
Iron dome is paranoid at it's peak.
Didn't the US Navy invent the dark web? Lets have them all arrested 🎉
We have to draw the line at the exploitation of children. Refusing to assist law enforcement while simultaneously providing aid and comfort to the criminals just doesn't seem right
We have to draw a line what is "assistance" and under which conditions it can be demanded by LEOs.
In my book it's fine if police go to a jydge with a case that their agent had a chat with this account user and it looks like he's into CSAM distribution, please give us court order to get info on that account and possibly their chats from the messaging app.
That is totally fine.
I believe that is exactly the EUs idea
Freedom of speech yes ....Freedom of criminal activity no .
Durov left Russia because of Freedom. He was not arrested in Russia, but he was arrested in France again for wanting Freedom in messaging.
A lot of this liberal Russians will learn the hard way 😂😂😂😂
If someone kills using knife, all knife producers should be arrested?
telecom, automobile, and postal executives might also be in trouble by such government regulations. If bad people use a certain cell phone, drive a certain automobile, or send a letter - this is truly a slippery slope
The American government is already making plans for extraordinary rendition to get him on a black site ship in international waters😅
Why isn't Apple's directors in jail then? They refused to unlock the Boston marathon bombers phone? Or did we all forget about that?
Telegram is NOT comparable to X or Meta. This about encrypted messaging that government/s cannot get access to.
Hypocrisy at it's highest level, the French jester is proud
What came on Pavel to become French in the first place?..
Am also looking for an answer to this question
He fell for the lies of democracy and freedom of speech
He fell for the lies of democracy and freedom of speech
Not allowed western propaganda on his social media giant
Westerners are siding with Westerners as usual, talking about the two guests 😂
We the users, are going to have to fight for either;
1.) absolute privacy or
2.) yield to semi-privacy under the guardianship of our 'trusted' governments.
No French specialist interviewed about this matter? We are talking about French laws and regulation not even European ones. Therefore a German or a Brit seem a bit odd to say the least
This conversation did not make a whole lot of sense.
This presenter is a very poor interviewer! This is the second episode I have watched where he repeatedly abruptly interrupts the guests just as they are trying to make a point. It's rude to the guests and frustrating for viewers. Inside Story has other presenters who manage their guests graciously, whilst keeping to the show's running time. I hope we will see more of them.
Why would he fly into France when he had an arrest warrant out ??? i do not get it
They issued the arrest mid air?
They issued a warrant just b4 he landed. Plus, there're hypothesis that it was arranged for him to get out of Putin's hands without raising alarm
So a terrorist who posts a sealed letter detailing an operation, should the post office CEO be arrested ?
If u say telegram doesnt take action on explicit content, ur wrong, it does take action, but only when it goes public
Interesting topic. A pity the interviewer was constantly interrupting his guests....
You are naive if you think it’s about trafficking ‼️
That is why Al Jazeera isn't took serious: you let Putina talk... .
Oh dear another person happy to live with lies via Zionist controlled western media!
The French still waiting for the US to give direction
these Guests are very one sided and against Telegram, but what about the Right to PRIVACY ??
This means every CEO of Telecommunications network company in the UK and worldwide needs to be arrested, as they are to been used for criminal activity.
USA sanetors can't do nothing except questions
That is like saying anyone can come into my house! I will shut my eyes if they are child traffickers and hide stolen children in my house?!!! I won't interfere.
Questionable attitude.
Free Durov
Oh buhuu… as if he was „targeted“. Guys, there is no doubt that the prosecutor has a direct charge against durov acting with intent. In no way is it legally possible to charge him for remaining somehow inactive.
So why didn't they arrest Jeffrey epstien and his people?????
USA did it ,just like mengwanzhou Huawei cfo
Thank you for your report.
Please stop cutting off the guests 😢 Its annoying
So if a terrorist phones another terrorist does that mean the telephone company is at fault, do landline phone corps listen to everyone's calls? If someone buys a car then goes around running people down with it..is the car manufacture or even the car seller also guilty?
Reminds me of what happened to Kim Dotcom in New Zealand
I'd rather listen to the two guests and not the interviewer.
And why is that? Cos you a genocide supporter or just an appalling racist ?
Was arrested for wearing a “hoodie-vest”. Fashion crimes hold the death penalty in France
This is nonsense about criminal activity etc. The case is purely POLITICAL
Indian government asked identity of scammers who looted money they refused to break it's secure chat and they refused to give their identity. I lost my money , this guy has to abide if any country asks cyber crime criminals identity list.
Question is "can telegram break those end-to-end encrypted chats? And do they have the identity?"
if I was a criminal -- I wouldn't register account from SIM in my own name.
@@adrianalexandrov7730 or else sim owner ll surely hv connection with the culprit .
Interesting take on political move against Russia.
We condemn his arrest but I hate how child predators hide in anonymity behind Telegrams privacy laws.
This is false pretence. Predators hide in a lot of places and government doesn't care
Stop interrupting your guests particularly for asking stupid questions!!!
