    Todd, your videos are amazing. Would you say that most cases wouldn't need more than one Source of Uncertainty? It seems like with six sections, one will be enough for most systems.

    Oops! You played the wrong VCO when demoing the bottom section. Should have used the bottom right knob on the mixer instead of the middle knob.

    is it possible that you use the wrong Red Panda channel at 7.58?

    • @vgermuse
      @vgermuse  Рік тому

      Anything is possible but I believe it is the correct channel and I would agree the distribution curves are subtle in this example probably should have increased the 1v/8va input for a wider range.

    Thanks Todd, great intro! How do the noise sources sound going into the FM input of the 258? Do you know if the quantised voltages are to standard western pitch? (My pitch is terrible!)

    I need to study noise more. I was under the impression is white noise is the full spectrum and then you remove certain frequencies to get the others but maybe its more complex than I understood it. Can't wait to get my hands on this one. My rack is almost complete and then I might start ordering duplicates once the next module comes out.

      I'm no expert but I think white noise is full spectrum but our perception skews it. For our ears a doubling of frequency is perceived as an octave - so we hear all of the top half of the frequency range as one high octave the next quarter of the range is an octave, the next eighth the next lowest octave and so on. I think the result is that the high end dominates and the low end is under represented in white noise. My understanding is that pink and red noise are adjusted to sound more balanced to our ears.

    Thanks for the demo. I'm wondering about the voltage ranges of the outputs, especially whether they ever go negative.

      @vgermuse  Рік тому

      I actually don’t know but my guess is they don’t go negative. Might write tiptop
