      I know this is kinda random, but could u react to the two trailers of Lotm (Lord of the Mysteries)
      You probably haven't heard of it, but to quickly sum it up : It is a Chinese Web novel getting a donghua (Chinese anime) adaptation with quality (in my opinion) surpassing some things studio ufotable has done (if the trailers are any kind of indication of how well it's gonna be animated) such as demon slayer and fate etc.
      Nott only in pure animation but also story and plot (which I can say after having fully binged it)
      if you watch these two trailers you're gonna see what I mean in context to the great animation, and you could maybe - if voted - watch it after monster etc., when it releases next summer.
      And also to possibly convince you to give the trailers (and a Chinese anime) a chance I can say that it is confirmed through reliably sources, that it will have 5 SEASONS - Yes you heard me right 5 SEASONS - (IT'S THE WHOLE LOTM STORY- 1400 chaps, which were announced before the first ep even officially dropped (As an indication to how amazing it is).
      The first ep was also shown to a select few people in China to review it etc, and they all gave it great reviews, for example how the anime follows the novel nearly word for word (which is very often just not the case sadly).
      It is also the most known novel in China with a VERY BIG Fan base (that just isn't as high in western countries) winning awards and even having live events which speaks for itself.
      PS:
      I will probably paste it under every new monster episode while enjoying the rewatch of one of my all-time favorites.
      If you see this, I don't want to pressure you into anything, but you can probably guess that for someone like me to write all this that I have the needed conviction that it will be great (at the very least, because LOTM is my all-time fav piece of fiction)
      PS(2):
      Short summary from the wiki because I can't properly articulate myself on such things :
      “In the waves of steam and machinery, who could achieve extraordinary? In the fogs of history and darkness, who was whispering? I woke up from the realm of mysteries and opened my eyes to the world. Firearms, cannons, battleships, airships, and difference machines. Potions, divination, curses, hanged-man, and sealed artifacts… The lights shone brightly, yet the secrets of the world were never far away. This was a legend of the “Fool”. “
      PS(3) :
      If you decide to watch the trailers, then look up the versions with English sub (or fan sub) for better experience

    You make a good point about how Richard's actions should be seen as self-defense. Anybody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the serial killer was being observed by the police or something to get a proper sentence and Richard went out of his way to track him down and kill him while sober. So yes, all the characters understand he needed to shoot him, but it wasn't in his place to directly confront the killer as a detective. And of course now we know it wasn't a mere drunken mistake.

    • @mbuszka5295
      @mbuszka5295 21 годину тому +3

      Only in law eyes, kid is kid, so killing KID, even if in self defence, will be bad PR for police and may under public opinion pressure make uppers sacraficing him for a trial.
      Also, if Richard keep telling lies to himself, how reliable his memories we see are?🤔
      Also, he is not "serial killer", technically, until he did not have his crimes proven.
      So, if it went around, that he killed a kid, $hit WOULD HAVE most likely hit a fan. 🤔

    • @bardhi09
      @bardhi09 18 годин тому +8

      You can also interpret it as Richard hallucinating that the kid had a gun pointed at him to get rid of his guilt
      Johan also asks him if he confirmed that the kid ever committed those crimes prior to shooting him
      This suggests that the kid probably was innocent

    The following below is NOT a Spoiler
    It is supplementary information from the novel Another Monster
    I have only posted the parts that don't spoil the next episode
    Chapter 11 - Julius Reichwein (June 2001; Munich)
    Dr Julius Reichwein is the final interview of Part One. They discuss some of Reichwein's history as a police officer before talking in some detail about the death of Richard Braun. Braun had shot a serial killer, Stefen Jost, years prior. It's revealed that this was hailed as a victory at the time but an anonymous letter sent to a newspaper said that Jost had been gunned down after surrendering. Braun could not remember the events of the murder himself which fueled public outcry. Pressured, he resigned from the force but continued to accept interviews about the incident. Despite public opinion turning against Braun, several other police officers that knew him wrote articles in defense of his character. By this time the damage was done and Braun found himself in a losing battle with alcoholism.

    I looked up the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and it is actually pretty short, just 15 pages. And many are just as simple as "Article XX" following by one or two paragraphs of text.
    e.g. "Article 46 The present Convention shall be open for signature by all States."

    22:41 Johan asked his question in a way where his demeanor is not only non-threatening which was done to not raise Richard’s guard any further Johan continues to use the word execute which cause Richard to get defensive and Johan changes the subject slightly and references multiple 1989 Articles centered around the rights of a child. Richard only gets more frustrated and Johan pulls back to apologize as he reminds Richard that this is all for the sake of a research paper even though Johan reassure that Richard was still annoy.

  • @viriatox9782
    @viriatox9782 18 годин тому +7

    Great reaction. I can't wait to watch your reaction to the next Monster episodes.
    As for Johan's statement to manipulate Richard, it's true that the detective and the police were investigating Stephan Joss as a potential serial rapist and killer, but from what we can know, they were just suspicions since the guy was still at large, so it's possible that Johan's manipulation was completely on target and it wasn't actually self-defense homicide but a calculated murder of a dangerous criminal under the guise of self-defense and being under the influence of alcohol.
    That would explain much better why he was forced to leave the police force, why he was socially punished and the fact that the ghost of the young man kept coming to his mind, pointing at his head, trying to make sure that he believed the lie he told others. Because deep down, it was known that he had committed that crime when he was totally sober and then got drunk to justify it, and in that situation it is possible that it led to an uncontrolled increase in his alcohol consumption. That would better explain the disdain in the response of Richard's former subordinate to his former boss.
    By the way, you apparently haven't reacted to the fact that Joss was a student at the horrible Kinderheim 511, so it's very likely that he coincided with Johan himself.

  • @MrLim-wq2gn
    @MrLim-wq2gn 15 годин тому +7

    21:46 do keep in mind that Richard distrust him and is on guard. But Johan however can slightly lower his guard by revealing the true purpose of requesting Richard that being said the 1989 United Nations Convention on the right of his college research papers. Johan at this point in the story was genuinely a college student only temporary despite that it’s still enough of a legitimate reason to call out Richard once seated in the bar Johan offers Richard a drink who hastily declines offering Richard a drink was intentionally as it’s known before that Johan and Richard have their encounter by the viewer that Richard use to be a Alcoholic.
    Johan knows this fact too as is vital in his Plot to Manipulate Richard knowing people guilty pleasure is essentially a gap in the person psyche which makes it all the more easier way to manipulate the person psyche which makes it all the more easier to manipulate the person if are done correctly.

  • @Flower-qq7je
    @Flower-qq7je 15 годин тому +5

    Not a spoiler- The reason the serial killer guy dyed Johan’s head black is because Johan had bandage on his head back then, so he doesn't know he had blond hair or what his hair looked like, but he recognized him from his face after covering the head.
    (I think they never explained why he did this, so that is what I interpreted and it makes sense to me)
    Even if he was a kid back then, just like this episode established, you can recognize him even after growing up.
    Also off topic but I find it so funny how Richard was basically like “Thats an ugly baby who no way will turn out like Johan!” 😂😂

    One way to explain the "nobody is talking about Joost pointing a gun at Richard" would be if he actually didn't. The twist at the end tells us that Richard doesn't clearly remember what happened. Like Johann said, he is probably lying to himself to cope with what he has done. If he wasn’t drunk, maybe it also wasn’t self defense, that's why nobody else sees it that way. The "ghost" Richard keeps seeing could be a manifestation of what he saw when he looked at Joost, "the pure evil" that put a fear in him equal to a threat to his life, and that's just how he now remembers the scenario.
    And I think it's really interesting that Johan actually has good points if his theory is correct. Joost was not convicted yet and therefore should have been treated as innocent. Instead he got shot and the guy who did it kind of got away with it by falsely blaming his alcoholism. And all Johann is saying this episode is "he was a minor, he had horrific things happening to him that are the reason why he was that way because he wasn't protected by laws back then, you had no proof and just decided that you could be the judge of him". Like, I totally see where he is coming from, since he went through the same things as Joost. In these last few minutes, this episode makes you wonder if the person you've been following is actually the villain and Johann the one in the right here.
    I still think that was mainly his manipulation tactic to kill Richard because he started to get too close to figuring Johan out, and that Johan most likely didn't actually care about Joost, but it just shows how well written and complex these characters are that one interaction can make you question who's right and who's wrong.

    Johan of course being proud that the kid wanted to be evil. Still wonder if him being around kids is some sort of joke from him. He then goes to Richard and starts to mentaly break him. We actually see him genuenly smile and its like the mask broke for a moment and we see the monster hiding inside. Then he offers a drink. So yeah Rosemary aint gonna see her dad again unless its open casket.
    Jurgens just showed a pen in his head another person used by Johan.
    With the other kid who raped and killed 9 people at just 17 who then got shot. Probably police brutality but could not have happend to a nicer guy. It feels like Johan was lowkey making fun of the fact that the guy had to go to Kinderheim to be evil since he seems to be naturally evil and thus superior. Also again that smile was straight upp satanic bro really looks like a demon.
    I guess we aint in the 50s-60s but 90s but the point about psyciatry being lakser still stands.

      34:34, Luke speculates about how Richard might have died, considering several possibilities.
      At this point, he believes there are multiple ways Richard's death could have occurred.
      When Dr. Tenma first met the grown-up Johan, Johan shot one of Dr. Tenma's patients with his own hands.
      The possibility that Johan might take direct action himself is not zero.
      I personally like your guess because it’s very sharp and on point, but if that’s how you felt, I think it would be less confusing to write, “My guess is…” instead.
